My mom was lucky enough to receive this dutch oven for Christmas this past December. Ever since, our family has been nonstop cooking delicious meals inside the dish. The meal pictured is one of my favorites- greek style chicken orzo. Not only does this dutch oven allow us to cook our favorite meals with delicious flavor, but it also makes cleaning easy. With the ability to put the dish in the oven and on the stovetop, one-pot meals are a go-to! Overall, although this dish is a bit of an investment it is worth every penny and is definitely an appreciating asset in our kitchen.

We received a Le Creuset 6.7 qt dutch oven as a gift. We'd owned it for less than 6 months when we noticed a chip on the handle. It was purchased at greater cost to other brands precisely because of an impeccable reputation and lifetime warranty and because we anticipated it being of heirloom quality. They did not honor the warranty, stating that it didn't effect the integrity of the cookware. I can find no such distintion in the warranty and is frankly a misrepresentation of their product.

I had the same pot instead an older model for over 8 years. I only use that to make soup or stew. Never over boiled or burn without liquid in the pot. I made the first “life time warranty” claim because the vegetables and meat were staring to burn and stick under the pot . They said it was cause by overheating! How?! So I spent thousand dollar to buy a whole set and none of them will cover by the warranty?! Lesson learned.

There are tons of different sizes of Dutch ovens out there, especially with Le Creuset. I settled on getting the 8 qt. Dutch oven because of the versatility. My plan was to make fancy bread in it. I've now done that in this one and I love it. You don't have to buy a round dutch oven to make bread. The size and even the weight work for me. I think the 6.75 quart version would have worked, too, but I just love this thing. Also, I was so happy to find it on sale with Crate & Barrel. It wasn't available in my area and so it was shipped to me. I had to contact customer service about a small delay, but it was rectified quickly by a very nice person. An actual human being! Who would have guessed? Very good experience indeed. I will doubtlessly get other sizes in this color ... MoreThere are tons of different sizes of Dutch ovens out there, especially with Le Creuset. Have had this Dutch Oven since January and I can't say how happy I am that I purchased it-I use it a LOT. As David V. refers to the GBD (golden brown deliciousness) I enjoy it every time that I use this, especially browning meat after sautéing onions and red bell peppers. Amazed at how well it cooks rice. Perfect for the winter months-but the deliciousness isn't stopping there! I'm going to use it this Summer for steaming clams, lobster and our delicious local sweet corn. And although I'm in New England, I spent some time in the "Low Country" so a Low Country Boil will also be on the menu.Bought the Cerise (cherry) color and it matches my kitchen perfectly. Easy pay sealed the deal during the holiday season! On the last payment now-that went by fast...Highly ... MoreHave had this Dutch Oven since January and I can't say how happy I am that I purchased it-I use it a LOT. This is such an attractive, versatile, top-quality item. An investment that will last a lifetime.
I have waited a long time to start my own Le Creuset collection. I love to cook, and I've always heard such great things about the Le Creuset brand. However, they are quite pricey! I finally decided to splurge on the 5.5 Round Dutch Oven - and I am so glad I did! I've made stuffed peppers, marinara sauce and a pot of soup so far. It warms up quickly and cooks so evenly - its amazing. On top of everything, clean-up is a joy. It just wipes clean. I purchased the Meringue color and it is gorgeous! My biggest decision now is whether to collect all the same color - or mix them up! Either way, my collection will definitely be growing.
This is the perfect pot! I’m very familiar with and a big fan of Le Creuset and have quite a few of their dishes. This pot is the one I use the most (size and function is just perfect) and this is why I decided to buy another one. Beyond undeniable beauty (and this color is WOW!), they are such high quality product with amazing functionality. These pots are great at keeping accurate temperature and also wonderful for being able to move easily from stove top to oven. This pot is the perfect size for soups, stews, searing and almost any dish you can imagine. As always this arrived quickly and well packed. What a winner!
Such a big ticket item for a pot, it took me 5 years of saying ?you don?t really ?need? this to, ?You do bake a lot of artisanal breads and this would be perfect size for that and a whole lot more?. I call it my one pot wonder. The color is lovely and the piece is heirloom quality. Perfect size for stock and bread baking; also found deep enough to sous vide a couple tenderloin steaks! Elevates any dish cooked in it.
Don't be like me and wait five years to spend the money on this amazing piece - just do it. I've gotten so much joy out of making my own bread, experimenting with new recipes, making soups and stews where the individual ingredients actually stand out because the pot cooked them so well. Also, don't be like me and burn your pot.....yeah.... I burnt the pot. If you do, just fill the pot with water and add baking soda. Let simmer for 8 to 10 minutes - she'll be brand new again. I bought the 7 1\4 quart size oven in Nectar from my local Williams Sonoma store. The yellow is gorgeous and was a big factor in my decision to buy. I don't recall seeing it before now? Wish they had the 9 1\2 quart size in that color. Totally worth the money and a lovely experience in using it.
I own quite a number of Staub and Le Creuset because I love the different sizes that are good for different uses. I have been taking care of these pots for a decade and do not usually have problems with them. However, I had a problem with a Le Creuset enameled cast iron round oven as the lid keeps rusting in 3 spots, the spots where there is some welding indentations or divots. I feel like this is a defect and not a cleaning/care issue as my other pots do not have this problem. After reaching out to Le Creuset they told me that it is my problem, to clean it with barkeepers friend and season it. I have never had this issue with my other enameled cast iron pots, even with other Le Creuset lids. The warranty does not cover this issue so I will be purchasing Staub only ... MoreI own quite a number of Staub and Le Creuset because I love the different sizes that are good for different uses.
