Setting: 2018, driving in my car after leaving a restaurant. Suddenly, I must call them. I can’t help myself. I have to know WHAT SOAP DID THEY STOCK IN THEIR BATHROOM?! It’s this. This is the most wonderful, enchanting smell I’ve ever encountered in my life. Everyone who washes their hands at my house comments on it. I wish they made it as a laundry detergent. I don’t think the body wash is as good but it’s close. The lotion was a big miss for me. But this soap is one simple joy I get every single day. PLEASE LE LABO make it as a detergent and a fragrance. Or just build a house out of it so I can live inside it forever. Oh - also the shampoo conditioner also smells great.

Amazing smell

This is probably one of the best hand creams I have used in a while. Some are far too oily, some just don't seem to actually soften my hands at all, but this one... wow! I bought it as a "guest" hand cream for our downstairs loo but I may need to steal it. The smell is divine, it smells expensive & lush. I have quite dry hands & have tried all the good brands with high hopes & been disappointed.This one I can pop on & leave the house almost immediately, it sinks straight in & I can feel it softening my hands straight away & it lasts! As I say I bought this based on the looks of the bottle as it fitted in well with the decor of our guest loo, but what an amazing surprise that the cream itself is just amazing! Would recommend.

Converted!

This was bought for my bday and I could not have been happier as I have the hand wash and it pairs wonderfully making the Hinoki scent even stronger and longer-lasting. I also have the pomade for overnight nourishment and when my hand are chapped. Really surprised at how it absorbed so fast, dried down to nothing, I swear, no grease, residue, film...Nothing! I am really impressed with the hand care range from Le Labo as it exceeds and surpasses all brands I have used....and I have tried from one end to the other market-wise to the other and these are the best! Would not by anything else now as the scent, the products, and results are all excellent and worth every penny!

Fabulous hand lotion, but very different scent

I got the hinoki hand lotion after I fell in love with the hinoki hand soap by Le Labo. I was shocked at how different the lotion smelled; I was expecting it to more closely match the hand soap and to my nose it does not at all. (Is there a whiff of anise at first with the hand lotion or am I crazy?) I'm still figuring out if I really like the scent of the hand lotion, but I will continue to buy it for two reason: (1) the lotion moisturizes my hands without leaving any residue, and in fact almost leaves a feeling of having very lightly powdered my hands (delightful if, like me, you hate the feeling of lotion on your hands!); (2) the scent dissipates quite quickly after you put it on. LOVE IT.

Horrible formula

I'm a huge fan of Le Labo (I've been wearing Le Labo's perfume for 8 years so far) and I loved this hinoki smell, but I have to admit I hate using this lotion. Whenever I tried this, this lotion clumps up all over my hand and I need to wipe this out with tissues. No matter how much I apply - small amount, average, huge pump, etc.- it gives me horrible lotion clumps. I have a crispy dry hand so I always use hand lotion/cream 24/7, and this lotion is not hydrating at all. I feel like my hands are just "coated" with the cream, but my hands feel so dry inside this lotion coat. I can't even return it now, and my $65 hand lotion is sitting on my work desk as a sad decor.

Love it

The smell took me by surprise initially and some getting used to, but once I did, I fell in love. It smells woody and medicinal if that makes sense, but at the same time, very calming and soothing. Lotion moisturises really well, it's Le Labo, can't fault quality here. I have it on my work desk and every application refreshes my senses especially when I am feeling tired.

Luxourious Hands

I purchased this for myself as a "New Flat" treat, along with the handsoap (both scents in Hinoki) and omg, it's worth the price tag. As a Le Labo fan, I personally think the price is reasonable but I can understand the slight gasp some people give when buying expensive hand creams and soaps (I used to be one of them) They're worth it. The scent is hypnotizing and stays on the hands for a really long time, to the point I washed my hands before going to bed one evening and I could smell my hands while trying to fall asleep! Another thing I love about this is the used by date. It's perfect up until 24 months after opening while washing and creaming our hands is being prompted a little more at the moment I know I'll be able to use it up within two years!

Overwhelming fragrance

The moisturising quality of this product is okay, I suppose, but the fragrance is far too strong. Woody and piney - it will overwhelm any other fragrance you are wearing and is very persistent. This sometimes makes my hands itchy. Using a very small amount makes no difference. I should note that I'm a lover of all kinds of fragrances and rarely sensitive to fragrance but the strength of this becomes headache-y after some time. It lacks the complexity/subtlety of a premium-priced product, in my opinion - the type of strong aroma that might be good for masking odours in a public restroom. I doubt if I could find someone who would appreciate this, as I really can't continue using it. Definitely sample before buying.

Totally overrated product, full of fragrance

Another high end product with loads of fragrance. It's not as moisturising as much cheaper hand creams, but what's worse is the fragrance is so overwhelming, I cannot use it when I eat or go to sleep. If you don't enjoy generic strong fragrance, don't get it, save yourself. I like luxurious skincare, but this is another of these brands that don't have much science behind it, but call themselves 'natural' and 'luxury'. Two stars because of the packaging.

Unique.

Feels lovely and silky, no greasy residue and softens skin well. The fragrance is unique and lovely, woody, a bit herbaceous and a bit spicy. Suitable for men too - hubby loves it. I do find I am a bit sensitive to it, probably the fragrance component which is always a possibility for me. I react easily, getting atopic eczema between the fingers. So be aware this may be a trigger if you are sensitive too. Hubby will use it!
