Carried this tool for years thru all sorts of weather. It fixed my motorcycle, my car, and helped me make a solid living career. Until one day I suppose the rust caught up to it and it snapped it's wings trying to cut a wire hanger. This super lightweight machine was barely noticeable on my toolbelt when I had to carry it on 20 hr work days. It had eveything I need easily avaliable so I could handle quick fixes with ease. The ergonomic design of the handle was one of the more pleasing features. Those pliers handled 4/0 copper like freaking champions.

I hate to say this but the multi-tool I got was a bit of a let-down. The tools themselves seem to work well but the pocket clip wore out almost immediately leaving no way for me to carry the tool in my uniform without it falling out of my pocket which it does constantly. And, of course, as it hits the floor the alternate bit driver piece also gets knocked out and scatters which I've now had to search the ground for on multiple occasions. This would be an otherwise perfect tool if it wasn't for the failure pocket clip which essentially renders it useless for me. The clip is far too weak. Otherwise, the knife comes very sharp and seems to stay sharp for awhile, the tool is relatively sturdy and has everything I need on daily basis in a compact design. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE THE SKELETOOL.But it's the 5th one I bought.I break them pretty easy. I'm a welder and by now I ought to know that this tool will not crimp 1\8th filler rod. It's an excellent multi tool but I wish there were maybe a stronger steel that could be used for this product because that would be outstanding.I know that this tool is loved for it's compact size and that making it stronger might take away from that.I'm just saying it tends to break pretty easily even though I'm the one that is forgetful and knows that it will not cut 1\8 rod. It'd be cooler if it didLove y'all keep doing great things and don't quit your day dreams

Favorite EDC
22 February 2023

I've relied on a lot of Leatherman tools in the past, but this is my new favorite EDC. Size and weight are perfect, the pliers / wire cutters feel perfect; knife blade is easy to open and the combo blade is good for a variety of materials; bit driver is incredibly useful; carabiner is handy and good for opening bottles; clip is great for pocket or belt carrying. Also, I love the look and color options.Only things I might change would be adding a can opener and maybe a spring assist for the pliers.

Great EDC
21 September 2022

I really do love this tool. It made it right into the first position for my everyday carry. It fits perfectly into my right pocket without much bulk at all. It has the top 4 things that I use almost everyday: knife, pliers, screwdriver and bottle opener. That it! Don't really need anything else on a quick grab tool. If I do, I will just grab a much better tool. Speaking of this, other than the knife, the tools are really for light work. Not super reliable for consistent work. For example, the pliers are manual open and close, and fairly small. The screwdriver bits are small, so as to fit in the small storage (they can be lost easily too). The knife is great and will be used the most, which will allow for this tool to stay in my pocket over just a knife that would be ... MoreI really do love this tool. However, this knife is easy to open with one thumb flick, it locks great, and can be closed with one hand. It is also very sharp at the moment, and has a straight and serrated blade. Love it! I like the deep carry pocket clip and the a simple carabiner to attach to belt loop when using a lot. Overall, love the tool. I like the color and design. It is fairly light and holds well in the hand.

Great EDC for anyone
8 December 2022

Been carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. And doing it in a lightweight package makes the Skeletool a huge win. I’ve carried a bunch of knives through my short lifetime, Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Microtech, etc. and they’ve all been great knives and I still own those knives. But the convenience of having a multi tool that weighs a little more or as much as a knife I already have, plus having a similar footprint as said knives, there’s no reason I shouldn’t carry the skeletool everyday. Now is it perfect? No. If it had a pair of reliable scissors, like the ones from Swiss Army knives, then we would be inching towards perfect. But it definitely does a lot more than only having a ... MoreBeen carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. But it definitely does a lot more than only having a knife, and it does it very well. I’ve come to find that the skeletool is also very customizable. There’s a huge market that offers aftermarket modifications you can add to the tool. I’ve seen mods where you can add a hammer/pry tool to the end. And even seen guys add the aforementioned scissors. Possibilities seem endless. Should you carry it everyday in place of a knife? I don’t know, that’s up to you. But should you give a try and see how you like it? I’d say absolutely and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Light package with most needed tools
29 July 2022

This is my second Skeletool as my first model went missing. Buying another should be a testament alone. Well designed tool that is easy to carry many ways and it comes with two dual end bits. The standard bits that came with I have replaced with more practical ones. I suggest a Philips and slotted on one and for myself a T6/T8 in the stowage slot. Adding the ‘Hammer Jammer’ mod designed by Eric Au adds even more features making this a nice lightweight EDC item. The fit and finish are superb as well and I am very pleased with this Leatherman as I am with my multiple other models.

Naked without it
22 June 2022

This Leathernan Skeletool purchase was for my son. I had given him one several years ago. He recently gifted it to his son whom he had sent off to college. I have had a skeletool since they came into production. I have lost several and have had to give several up to TSA when I inadvertently left them in my pocket . I always got a new one immediately because I can’t be without it. They are just the perfect knife/tool to carry on my pocket. When I found out my son had given his away to his son I knew I had to replace it. Three generations love and depend upon the efficacy of the skeletool. We feel naked without them.

This is now my everyday carry

This is my 4th Leatherman. I’m on the hunt for the one that has it all and does it all but isn’t too big and is comfortable to handle. This is getting pretty close.I have had the Supertool for a few decades and it is great but the edges on the handles back then are a bit hard, which makes crimping a bit uncomfortable. The Surge is much better in that regard. And so is the Skeletool.I also prefer not to have to open the entire tool to get at the blade, like on the Supertool or using 2 hands, like on the Juice.I wouldn’t mind having scissors or a saw and a file, but then we get back into bigger tools or not a one handed blade design. So far I have had use for all the tools on the skeletool and have only really missed the scissors once. Where we have lots of scissors.Mind you, the blade is super sharp, so in most cases it can do what I need scissors for.I foresee this being my everyday carry for quite a while, with the odd time where I will bring out the Juice for an evening or the Surge for going places where we won’t have access to other tools.

awesome tool be careful sending it in for warranty...

I initially purchased the skeletool in probably 2008/9, tool was absolutely perfect. Comfortable to hold, straight forward easy to use, straight blade made to last, perfect tool combination for daily carry. Unfortunately the tool finally broke in half at the vice grip so I went through the warranty process and was pleased to see you could check a box noting the tool as sentimental " Repair or return only. It has sentimental value and I want it back." Aside from that the knife doesn't shut right anymore as it hits the side of the slot it lays into to the point it's going to wear at the already thin blade. When I called to see what happened the women was really nice an tried to help but damage was already done and the original parts were gone.. Apparently in order for me to have not had the blade replaced I had to state that I didn't want it fixed. Which I found funny because I didn't say anything about the bent every which way blade lock yet they left that thing. Shame on me i geuss.
