My review is a bit biased, given that I own an old orange Juice S2 and a last-generation Wave. Both are tools that make the Leatherman brand shine. Frankly, the Juice is one of the best tools/multi-tools/knives I've handled in over 30 years. It spoils you with its impeccable finish and usability. And, of course, everyone knows what the Wave is and can do. Mine is a superb example of the production capabilities of Leatherman.I recently bought the Squirt, hoping to incorporate it into a small EDC pouch. The reviews of its pliers had sold me. And when it arrived, those reviews proved true. The little pliers on the Squirt are classic Leatherman quality. Finely finished, tight tolerances and snappy springs. The spring design especially is very clever. Once you get both sides open past their detent points, the pliers' own springs take over and the tool snaps open in a very satisfying way. I can see these pliers getting used for hundreds of things over its lifetime.I can't say any of those good things about the rest of the tools though. To be blunt, the tools on the Squirt feel like knock-off Leatherman copies. The steel just looks plain. Utterly plain, compared to an old Juice. The knife is fine for opening a letter, but I wouldn't expect more from it. The file is not too bad, but the nail nick on it (and the knife) are both undersized. making them difficult to open. But neither is as difficult to open as the two small screwdrivers. For some reason, there's no cutaway for the nail nicks and thus the nicks themselves are almost hidden behind the scale, making them extremely difficult to open. The scissors are just as small as they appear in the YouTube reviews. Useable, but very small.I really wish there existed a multi-tool in-between the Squirt and the Juice. Something that focused on the pliers and a limited tool-set better implemented than the tools on the Squirt. I hope the Leatherman designers are listening :)

I've been a Leatherman user long enough to have several that are out of warranty. I carried my first PST for most of my 10 years in the Army including my deployment to Desert Shield/Storm and it was incredibly useful for all kinds of tasks. After leaving the Army in 1995, I didn't really carry a Leatherman every day because they tend to be too heavy to comfortably carry in khaki pants and belt carry would be unacceptable where I worked. I still acquired several more over the years and they are in my vehicles. The Leatherman Squirt PS4 is the first one I've owned that is truly easy to carry as a keychain tool. It is the perfect size and has a nice array of useful tools that I find more and more uses for every day. I have a Micra and a Mini Tool that I've tried to use ... It's been my EDC for a few months, ever since someone broke my Gerber Suspension that I carried for five years (don't share your tools, kids). The most used tools are the two flatheads. The large one is far too thick to fit into any flathead I've seen, and isn't even tapered. The skinny flathead on the nail file is far too thin and brittle. I was turning a screw on an outlet cover and the tip of the screwdriver broke off. The knife is nice and large, as are the scissors. My favorite tool on it has to be the package opener. At first I tried using it to cut packaging tape on boxes, but the knife is a far better tool for that job. It's not good for letter opening either, just use the knife. The package opener is the perfect tool to open those annoying as ever plastic ... I have 10 or more Leatherman multi-tools. I carry them every day. I bought this one in the TSA safe version because I’ve lost one or two to TSA. I keep it on my keychain. Very handy tool. For some reason, the pliers don’t work now. I wrote customer service with pictures per their website and heard nothing back. Two months later, I wrote them again, sent the pics of the broken tool and still nothing. I hate rating this tool low as I mention, I carry or use their products every day. I have them on me, in my vehicles, tool kits, and key chains. This is the only one I’ve had malfunction. After spending hundreds of dollars with the company, I’m disappointed to see this is how customer service is handled.
Extremely great EDC tool that fits in the coin/fifth pocket with ease! You could honestly fit two of these inside the 5th pocket.Feels very good quality but not great.I’d love to see a “high end” version of this type of tool in this size and shape!Personally would love to also see something replace the file. A file isn’t super useful to me so maybe a saw and a CPM154 steel version! Maybe a true Philips screwdriver with the flat head and bottle opener.Overall I think this is a great mid range edc tool and I absolutely love the size! It’s just missing some key things that could be easily updated to make it a end game edc multi tool! Pray leatherman reads my suggestion and considers updating this classic.
The first thing I noticed about the Squirt PS4 was how small it was. Which was great as that is exactly what I was hoping for. I’m needing a pliers-based mini multitool for through hiking and this should fit the bill.I can’t give it four stars because of the knife blade. The single-edge bevel with ragged burrs had to be cleaned up to make the knife usable. I chose to redo the edge, giving it a double-bevel while simultaneously ridding it of those pesky burrs. And while thinking of things I’d improve, a brighter color option would be nice. I chose red, hoping it would stand out against the background if dropped, but it’s kind of subdued. Perhaps a blaze orange color option could be offered? And now the part that really impressed me. The pliers tips are very precise. ... MoreThe first thing I noticed about the Squirt PS4 was how small it was. Which was great as that is exactly what I was hoping for. The pliers tips are very precise. This came in handy when a fellow student got herself into some cactus during a wilderness first responder course we were taking. The pliers not only easily pulled out the larger spines but also were precise enough to handle the glochids without a problem. This is an important feature as I’m sure I’ll need it for this again in the future. The spring assist also helped in making the pliers user friendly.
Perfect size to carry every day. The tools while small seem to be just enough in most situations and folks are always surprised that I have a tool with me.I find it no problem to always keep the Squirt with me whether at work or play unlike the larger / heavier multi-tools.The Squirt PS4 is your everyday carry. After all the tool you have with you is more useful than the one you left on the dresser.I have carried a Squirt everyday for years. I purchased this one for my son as his going off to college gift. The personalized engraving gave it the perfect touch. No telling how many times he will have to loan it to others in his dorm building.
The wingman is a good size as an EDC pocket multi tool. I was looking for a multi tool that I could utilize while working that encompassed most basic tools I would need. The construction is great as with all Leatherman products I have purchased, and the tool is balanced well. Personally, the wingman was the best option for me as a first responder tool; however I wish I could find a specific tool very similar to the wingman that also encompassed a belt cutter with a small window breaker affixed. I could personally due without the small scissors, I understand not every single tool that has a pocket clip will encompass every single possible tool I may need. It is what it is: a Leatherman. It's well made, of course. Either the mix of tools on it are what you want, or not. (Although the "ruler" on the reverse side of the "file" would be better as another file, and the "package opener" as an awl.) All the tools work fine, or as noted in internet reviews. In terms of usability, the Rev is OK but not great, unlike say a Honey Badger flipper knife, which is a genuine pleasure to carry, open and use. From new, the Rev is stiff to open and getting some of the smaller tools out requires having a thumbnail. The most difficult tool to fold out is the "package opener". That fact just makes it more likely that the knife will be used to open packages instead. Long run durability of the Rev remains to be seen.I have three niggles. ... That fact just makes it more likely that the knife will be used to open packages instead. Long run durability of the Rev remains to be seen.I have three niggles. First, there's no good place to attach a lanyard/ wrist strap. The obvious thing, looping it around the pocket clip, puts it at the wrong end of the tool, near the pivots of the pliers and knife blade, rather than at the wrist end of the handle. The "lanyard hole" at the end of the larger handle is not great either. A better place would be at the end of the smaller handle, which fits against the base of your thumb and stays in the same place with respect to your wrist while using the pliers.Second, the pocket clip isn't detachable/swappable. It's uncomfortable for left-handed use.Third, the Rev feels needlessly heavy. It'd get carried around more if it were less uncomfortable in the pocket and less weight in the backpack. I don't know, maybe some Leatherman owners regularly use theirs as a hammer, and the company is building for that.
You know how most pliers curve the grips outward so your hands slide down toward the jaws? Yeah, me neither. That apparently did not stop Leatherman from trying to shatter boundaries and snub convention with this particular offering. When you're really trying to bear down and get a grip on life, the jaunty little curved grips that some engineer though would be a good idea send your hand on a wonderful adventure to the "Land of No Leverage". Add to that the sharp interior edges of the grip, and you have a recipe for disaster. Buy stock in Band-Aid before use! The darn thing is also heavy, and I'm not sure why, as it has less functions than an Atari 2600 (which, for the record, I was aware of and OK with when I bought it, but while I'm complaining, I'll list it ...
