This sword is beautiful, and sturdy enough for play. We used it for a party decoration and will use it again for a Halloween costume, but in the meantime I can let me daughter play with it without worrying that it won't hold up until Halloween.

I was hesitant buying this after seeing the only customer review on this site being very poor. However, I was in the market, and Oriental Trading offered the lowest price! So I bought it anyway! lol Just received it in the mail (very fast shipping) Yes, it's your typical plastic costume accessory, but this thing is awesome! Perfect for my son to dress up and play with!! Full sized sword, very sturdy, worth the $20. The details are spot on and it's official licensed merchandize from Nintendo.

My 6 year old son wanted to be Link for Halloween and he is obsessed with this sword! It is a great replica and the case is awesome (you can also use the case as an arrow quiver if you attach a strap). Great value for money because it will go a lot farther than just one trick or treat night. My son wears it everywhere! The only reason I have it four stars and not five is because the handle is a bit fragile. I know it's supposed to be a prop, but it is so close to being a real toy that they might as well have gone all the way and made it able to strike things, even lightly (because that's what kids want to do with it!). If you actually hit anything with it the handle can snap off quite easily and that is a hard thing to fix.

Where the handle meets the handguard is a little weak so taking care to not be rough with it is best. I bought this sword on another website, but it is still the same one. It is a great size and weight for kids, (it is 2 feet and 2 inches long, also 66 cm) and it is just as heavy as a pool noodle. Also there is some sort of lock on the sword and scabbard, so it is hard to drop if it if you secure it (it does not have a real lock, but just a little fastener that makes it harder to drop out of the scabbard.Overall, I think that this is a great sword and it is fun to play with!
We used this for Halloween but the kids love it so much they continue to play with this, as Legend of Zelda Fans in the making it was perfect for capturing their imagination with the imagery from their games. This item is also sturdy enough in the paint and structure of the item to be a year round toy. As an adult that loved those games a kid I get excited knowing these toys exist for the nostalgic experience spending time with the kids.
Doesn't look that much like the pictures. Poorly painted, flimsy, plastic bits rattling around inside. Paid £12 but feels more like £5.To think Nintendo used to put their seal of quality on all their licenced goods, now it just says Nintendo (R). Makes sense I guess.
I bought two, one for my son to play with and the other so I could keep it and put it on display. The sword is weighty and is made exceptionally well - it's plastic but it's not flimsy in any way. I wouldn't say these are for play as they aren't as soft as other play swords so I wouldn't recommend it for any rough play.My eldest saw the sword and wanted it also so there goes my display one. The things we do to keep out kids happy. A great purchase for any Zelda fan - highly recommended.
My 7 year old nephew loves playing a bunch of the Zelda games, so I gave him this and the shield for his birthday. He LOVED it and kept saying thank you. The look is good because he knew it was the master sword the second he opened the gift. The sword is a hollow plastic that I believe will hold up well enough with his rough play. The sheath is an added bonus because he has a lot of fun drawing the sword.
