This is my first Architectural set and it’s a beautiful one to say the least. This is also a very good beginner set to get if you’re just starting out. This looks great in my office but would also look very well in my bedroom as well. For $60, I couldn’t resist. Most of the sets I get are at least $200 so when I saw this price tag I was in awe.

First of all, I think this is an excellent set. I had read many reviews saying it was poor value for money and was a disappointing scale, so I wasn't expecting great things when I ordered it, but I was completely amazed when it arrived. The box and presentation were incredibly slick and clean. The instruction manual had great photos and facts in it and was a joy to read. The building process was very fun and overall the finished product looks outstanding, especially lit in the dark. The Empire State Building, The Flatiron Building and the One World Trade Centre are my personal highlights.Unfortunately the Chrysler Building was disappointing. I am a huge fan of the Lego Architectural series and have bought and built most of the sets. I am particularly fond of the Skyline series. These sets are labeled age 12+, but they are clearly targeted to more mature builders, of which I am one. That said, if you are considering purchasing one of these sets for educational purposes, you would be spot on.Each set features well-known landmarks from an internationally-renowned city. The builds themselves are intricate and as detailed as possible, given the limited space. A particular plus is the premium build instructions booklet, which provides details concerning the landmarks. Guaranteed, you will learn something. A weakness of these same elegant booklets is that with very few exceptions they will not lie flat. All ... MoreI am a huge fan of the Lego Architectural series and have bought and built most of the sets. Excellent display piece

This product is easy to assemble and looks great once completed. It's a bit of a cramped building experience since you're building five separate builds on one base plate. You do need to be careful not to disturb a building already in place. That being said, it was a fun building experience and I highly recommend this LEGO Architecture set to anyone who loves architecture, New York, or just building small LEGO buildings in general. A great piece for your coffee table or your desk, and guaranteed to draw a second glance.

Great set to teach children about points of interest un NYC
5 September 2022

My six year old grandson visited NYC this spring and asked for this Lego. He built it and the Paris Lego one day this past week. He is very enthusiastic about Legos and discovered this series recently. He was so happy to build this Lego set and talk about the places he had visited.

Happiness for my 13 year old
29 May 2023

Got this for my 13 year old great grandchild because of her age. She is too old for some things and too young for others. Started last year with London and she loved it. So I added New York for this birthday. Each year, until I pass, I will get her one of the architecture Legos. Since they make her happy and gives her something to do I will continue until I pass. This is a hard age to buy something for a child. But, Legos has it all.!!!

Perfect for NYC Lovers!!!
16 June 2020

My wife & I decided to order this on our wedding anniversary. We got engaged & married in New York on two separate visits so New York is a special place to us. After seeing this it felt like the perfect way to celebrate and pay homage to our favourite city. We both found it an entertaining build and I personal think Lego did a great job with the subtle features & details on the buildings to make them look strikingly like the real thing. People who are saying the Statue of Liberty is too small in scale leaves me a bit confused... next to the Empire State Building I think it looks fine. Although some might find it lack of detailing (it is only a standard micro Lego figure in green) I personally think it looks fine and adds to the charm of the set. I also purchased a light kit off another website that just gives the building that extra touch of style. I’d recommend this set to any Lego/architecture enthusiast or simply just someone who loves New York like me.

Pretty Frustrating
30 December 2016

We bought this for our ten year old son who has most of the items in the architecture series. He easily has done the much larger sets and many other Lego sets with thousands of pieces. This one was the first time he just lost interest and became to frustrated to finish himself. The problems are with the Empire State Building portion. The pieces fall apart easily as you assemble it and then the base part of the building does not connect with the tower portion. We rebuilt the bottom portion and the tower portion three times with three different people and same result every time. We had to use an extra piece from our own Legos to make the tower set on the base and even then it won't set centered. The other beef is that they really should have given a little more ... MoreWe bought this for our ten year old son who has most of the items in the architecture series. The other beef is that they really should have given a little more thought to the Statue of Liberty piece and at least given her a torch or something that makes her look like the actual statue other than just being green. We have done Venice, Berlin, Chicago, and all the different towers and this is the first time the set was a bit of a let down. Looks good from a distance now on his shelves but definitely not as great as the rest of the series quality wise.

Stressful Build, but Looks GREAT!!!
20 July 2017

My experience with this set is "a little bad, a little good, bit of both..."First off, the price is right, and the finished result looks great! But from the moment I opened the box, I realized this would be harder than any build I had ever done......First, the bags are not numbered, and I do not have a large workspace for these projects since my coffee table has filled up with other builds, so I do not have room to knoll out pieces. As such, because I was constantly picking from every bag at the same time, it became very stressful finding parts. I would have preferred if each building was divided into their own bag. That said, despite the build being stressful, the finished result looks really nice and presents a nice representation of iconic locations in my ... MoreMy experience with this set is "a little bad, a little good, bit of both..."First off, the price is right, and the finished result looks great! That said, it is also amazing to see everything come together...

The Empire State

This skyline set is fantastic when displayed with a light gray background on a black shelf, as mine is. I like how most buildings here can be displayed from more than one angle, although the Flatiron Building is a little bit bland from the backside. Still, you have to understand that at that small of a scale, that was probably the most appropriate thing for the designers to do, so I respect them for making that decision. That goes for the Statue of Liberty as well, as I read some of the other reviews here, and that also was probably the best choice for the designers to do was using that small sand-green microfigure. Sure, it doesn't have a torch, but if the figure were manufactured as its own design specific to this model, it would be a lot more expensive to ... MoreThis skyline set is fantastic when displayed with a light gray background on a black shelf, as mine is. Sure, it doesn't have a torch, but if the figure were manufactured as its own design specific to this model, it would be a lot more expensive to produce, and thus the cost of this set could've been quite a bit more, something that could've deterred a lot of this set's potential customers. The whole thing, though complicated in some areas (Empire State and One WTC), is fairly sturdy, and captures the most iconic New York sights well. It is (imo) the best of the Skyline series, in the aspects of color composition, displayability, sturdiness, and usage of space. It isn't overly lacking but also doesn't cram too many structures in a limited amount of space. Thanks LEGO!
