My son put this together right away when it came. He was so focused on getting all put together. There were some challenging parts for him — he is only 6 years old, but in general the pictures allowed him to easily put it together himself which he likes to do. He really does enjoy playing with it even after it is put together which is not always the case with other Legos he has put together. He likes how it can come apart into separate little underwater vehicles. He likes the colorful gems as well.

My kids really enjoyed building the Ocean Exploration Base. It was challenging, which we knew from the description on the box, but the instructions are crystal clear so we had zero worry. Loved that it had so many different projects within it, the submarine being our favorite. This made the finished product even more satisfying. My kids have spent many hours playing with this LEGO set and the creative possibilities are endless! Great investment!

I received this cool LEGO Oceans exploration base. Wow this LEGO set is super cool. My 11 year old son was so excited since this is one of the lego sets he has been drooling over. We built it together. It was so fun and not super hard for him to build. I love the quality and detail lego puts into all of there sets. I highly recommend this fun lego set to all parents.

It's lovely to see LEGO revisit the City Ocean Explorer series, and I was very happy with this set. It is attractive, colourful, fun to build, and filled with great little play features and accessories. The five minifigures are quite decent and feature a scientist, a pilot, and three divers. The base comprises three different modules plus support structure, a crane, and a submersible drone. One of the modules functions as a bathyscaphe, useful for gathering up included debris and treasure. Animals featured are the brand new hammerhead shark and manta ray, plus a familiar crab. Other new pieces included are coral. Similar to last year's LEGO City Lunar Space Station Set (60227), I personally like the Ocean Base a lot more, and would recommend this to any LEGO City ... I don't know who was more excited when they saw this set, my kids or my husband. I actually had to take it away from my husband to keep him from building it without our kids. I loved watching build this together. Great family fun that lasted 3 days. My son kept wanting to take it apart and put it back together. I am definitely going to be buying.more sets for Christmas this year! Thanks Lego for a terrific product that brings my family together!
Awesome set. Was fun to build with my 6 year old. His little sister loved the sea creatures. Probably the longest set to stay in its primary configuration.
My 9 year old son had a great time building this set and has played with it a ton so far. He has added it into his Lego City sets and is excited to have an underwater themed set. The set was moderately difficult to build. It did take him awhile, but as usual Lego did a great job with their detailed instructions. The hammerhead shark and stingray were animals we didn't have yet and they are super cute! This is a great set for Lego lovers!
My nephew asked for this Lego set for Christmas; however, it was sold out on the Lego website, ToysRUs, Indigo, Canadian Tire and independent toy stores. It was sold out on the Mastermind website and suddenly appeared one evening. I tried to purchase it but it was sold out when I was in the process of completing payment. I checked the next day and was lucky enough to purchase it … the very last set in Canada! So I will now be the most awesome auntie ever! Thanks, Mastermind for making our Christmas fun this year (despite COVID) :-)
First off, this little set really reminded me of the James Cameron Film The Abyss and as it is one of my all time favourite films the chance to build my own deep sea base was a no brainer. Each of the three habitat pods seperates off from the base so you could, theoretically, use them as vehicles or simply place them how and where you want. Personally I've kept mine on the base as I liek the cohesive look. Works well for display with the included research sub and the other sub kits in the City range.Loved the little diving mini figures, even if the fins mean they don't stand on a stud base but they do sit so mine are being lazy and sitting down on the display.Fun build and some interesting techniques and large moulded pieces that give a clean finish.Number Of ... We purchased this for our nearly 4 year old son. He was so thrilled. He needed a little help assembling. It’s now sitting on a shelf in his bedroom. He plays with this set nearly daily and tells all of his friends about it.Great quality.
