Once you completely open the bar, the back walls are very detailed and fun, with a âjunkyardâ effect plus that secret door. The extra buildings are different so they give a sense of variety and textures. But the BIG plus for me are those familiar mini towers that you can move around. They are so accurate and immediately enhance the Mos Eisley buildings. The 2 vehicules are very cool particularly if you add Lukeâs Landspeeder. You can also complete the set with Obi Wanâs hut and get some extra Jawas & Tusken Raiders for a complete Tatooine experience.Some small critics though : LEGO needs to built movable legs for the short characters and I wish Chewbacca was toller also, ultimately I think they should offer 3 different lengths of movable legs. Also the drinks/ bottles design could have been a bit more creative.Final comment from someone who used to play LEGOs in the 80s : I used to love the LEGO floors, those big squares that would replicate the moon surface or the desert with their little dunes. They were so great to built sets and immediately create a landscape. Wish they would be back!

Lego have not disappointed fans with this set... something of this scale and calibre has been desired by fans for many years now. The Lego Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina playset enables you to recreate iconic moments from the original Star Wars movie. It ticks all the boxes including being a realistic recreation of the cantina (and other aspects such as vehicles, characters etc.) in Lego bricks, it has great playability as a playset and has a lot of minifigures, including about half a dozen that are unique to this set. It's reasonably good value given just how awesome and wanted this set is and it's size, particularly if you're able to pick it up on a promotion.

As I kid I always loved Lego and had so much of it but one set I never had was the cantina. So when this set was revealed my inner child sparked with joy and I decided to get myself one. And what a treat this set is, the box is beautiful in its own right and the little details Lego have put into this really shows. Even the instructions have little quotes and paragraphs spread throughout which is a fantastic touch.The building experience is phenomenal and I loved putting this set together and didn't find it repetitive at all. Some cons: The extra store fronts or whatever could have been bricks used better for something else. They don't represent anything in the movie. The cantina itself is very nice and had good detail, but 1 major improvement would have been to make the behind the bar area 1 stud wider and the customer area outside the bar 2 studs wider on both sides. There is very little room to place mini figures in a diorama style with it closed. The part count is high but it felt like over half of the parts were single stud pieces. For someone who has limited space so large builds are rare (I definitely don't have the shelves for millenium falcon or death star) so to be able to display the entire set on one thin shelf was a plus.It ended up being a lot of fun and was a challenging build, but if you're not a star wars fan the premium is ridiculous and you're better off spending that money elsewhere. If you were lucky enough to get one at the original MSRP, kudos to you.

The Ithorian is also fantastic, with his toe printing and beautiful molded head. However, there are little things in the set that are so disappointing, they almost ruin the set. First, the new stormtrooper helmet mold is gross. It lacks playability (the trooper canât even turn his head!!) and looks like it was run over by a steamroller. I donât understand how lego hasnât reverted back to the older superior mold. Itâs far better, and allows kids so many more options for playing with them. Second, no greedo arm printing. Upon completing the set I can safely assume why this set is so hard to get a hold of! This set in my humble opinion is an absolute masterpiece, sure to delight young and old fans alike! There are 18 different numbered bags to this set, and every one contained a surprisingly detailed part of the set. From the bar to the speeders, from the drawback watering hole to the scrap shop outside, this set never failed to impress. It's like having the entire studio set of mos eisly from the movie in your house! The minifigure roster is PHENOMENAL. So many characters to make the set feel alive and lived in. I would even say this surpasses the Death Star due to the fact that you canât open and close up the Death Star for display/playability. The build itself goes very smoothly with each bag revealing a new minifig and more details. The instruction booklet has some fun info about the location and characters throughout the build. The minifig selection is awesome but I would have loved to have had arm prints on these.
