Altogether, this set is excellent and so very beautifully designed, especially in the front. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something enjoyable to do who wants a nice-looking result and has the need for speed.

The Speed Champions Senna is a decent set for the price, but overall I was a little disappointed by the design. The Senna, being a modern supercar, would have looked a lot more proportional if built on the 8-stud-wide platform that the F8 Tributo was built on. The car looks too long and too narrow. I know these small sets can't possibly act as scale models, but it just looks a bit goofy in my opinion. My set also came with stickers that were cut shifted to one side, making it impossible to achieve a well-aligned appearance. I assume this issue was specific to my set, and not to the entire model run. If you are trying to decide between the Senna and another member of the Speed Champions series, pick a different one! (Tributo is a very good option).

Beautiful model with some annoying flaws.

This is a very attractive set with some cool pieces and interesting ways of putting parts together. However, the first thing I noticed when building it is that it felt very narrow. The vehicle it's modeled after is a 2 seater not a single seat, and comparing the final model to the real car's photo, it's easy to see that it's way too thin for how long it is. It still looks great, but it doesn't have that same wide profile supercar feel to it.It also has a lot of stickers, which are nice thin and clear ones, but they'd be so much nicer as a stamped graphic. I'm guessing that McLaren wanted their logos to appear in specific places a certain number of times, and stamping the parts would be too expensive. I can think of several potential ways the arms holding the spoiler could have been connected securely. The way it's attached by default makes the joint that controls the spoiler angle stronger than the base of the armatures, so just positioning the spoiler can cause the whole thing to fall off. It's just a frustratingly week attachment that isn't very easy to reattach. It's still a great model and looks nice on my shelf until the parts are needed elsewhere.

(Reason why I gave it a challenging rating. Some stickers are really small and hard to place)Another thing I noticed is that when you seat your pilot in the car and put the windscreen on, theres a collision between the pilot and the glass, causing there to be a tiny gap that doesn't let the thing be 100% closed off. It is so tiny, you probably won't even notice and I'm just nitpicking at this point. All in all a great set! You won't be disappointed if you get it, and you'll learn a few new LEGO tricks along the way I can guarantee!

I have been building Lego for around ten years now and in all my years i have never seen something like this. This set blows most other speed champion sets out of the water. The build I would say is a bit . The techniques used for the front including the headlights, the cockpit and the back all have a unique build. I was surprised by the way they made the cockpit. The set comes with a cool minifig with some nice printing and also a big fan. I didn't really know what to do with it and it looked awkward on display but it had some cool pieces and i found use for them in one of my mocs. There were not to many stickers so that was nice and the ones that they did include make a big difference looks wise. My one complaint is that i wish they didn't include the orange. I personally don't like the way it stands out on the car. It it was black or grey it would look a lot better. The set also gives you two sets of hubcaps for the wheels so you can change looks which I thing is cool. The set is very easy to play with and looks good next to all the other speed champion sets. I would highly recommend you get this set not only because it looks great but also because it is easy to afford and a great addition to your collection.

Great Build

I haven't built Lego since I was a child but in the mood for something to construct I decided to buy a Lego set and this was my pick - something relatively small, not too basic but also not too complicated - to see if I still enjoyed it. Well I did and this was a brilliant first pick. The instructions were easy to follow and soon I had this fantastic McLaren Senna. A couple of negatives; I find the windshield a little flimsy as it is removable and the front doesn't secure onto anything. Also, the stickers being see through in a few places and quite small meant that it was impossible not to get finger marks on them removing them from the sheet to place and this meant the look wasn't quite as flawless as it should be. Also, and this may be general to Lego and not ... MoreI haven't built Lego since I was a child but in the mood for something to construct I decided to buy a Lego set and this was my pick - something relatively small, not too basic but also not too complicated - to see if I still enjoyed it. Also, and this may be general to Lego and not specific to this set, but I found the fact that the pieces were sorted into no specific order in their packets odd and difficult. However, this is only a small point and for a set this size not too much of an issue. It's safe to say I am hooked again and have already purchased and built my next set!

I am writing the review right now, but I actually got this set about a mouth ago...When TLG first released the images of this car, I had already spotted the axe pieces from Nexo Knights, and my mind was blown. I was so surprised that those pieces are used like this. Additionally, I was also super glad getting the 70336 Ultimate Axl, which has the yellow axe pieces, about years ago. Before building it, I had watched many reviews discussing about the issues of this model, like colors, proportion, and piece-selection, etc.. This is my first Speed Champions set. Honestly, I wasn't thinking about that much. I thought those issues were not big deals.Compared to the sets I had bought, this set has too many stickers. (I know 75885 Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC has more) I (also) know that TLG has to make many custom printing rubber stamps, which cost lots of money and are hard to preserve, every years. I think making those printed pieces can add more value to the set and make people appreciate it more. Let's hope there will be a flagship street car which has no sticker every half-year. (I know this can be impossible and unfair to those car companies...)About other part of the car, its width is too short or its length is too long. I tried to pull the wheels outward to fool myself that this car is 8-studs wide, and it worked a bit? Maybe? Currently, I do not have any spare piece to fix it on my own. I opened my LDD, and realized the grey mudguard pieces are new and exclusive to the set. There is a gap, which has the size of one by two plate, to fit the windshield.Overall, this is still a great set. It was absent in my last few visits to The Lego Store, and I don't think I have to give it a reason. Many rare colors and pieces are included to satisfy the great Lego community, including those who love advanced model. So, who says a small $15 set cannot be "that" advanced?

this is a good set overall, but there are a few places that look rather unrealistic. this set has some very unique building techniques, including some creative upside-down building. My main problem with this set is that it is overpriced. This is a 6-stud wide (which I'm very glad about, LEGO started making 8-stud wide cars which look too wide to me) car with 219 pieces. This set is 7 cents ($0.07 USD) per part, however, there are few “large parts.” Also, as I mentioned, This set has at least 4 places that look unrealistic. I realize there are a certain number of part designs that the LEGO designers have to work with, but this set probably could have been done better. In conclusion, this is a good, yet overpriced, set.

This was a great build. Very nicely detailed although that does mean a lot of tiny pieces but, even worse, a heck of a lot of stickers. My sticker game is extremely weak but I persevered as they really add something to the finished model and I'm glad I did as I think it looks really great built up. Not too sure about the grey colour but it does mean the orange trim really pops. The inclusion of the wind tunnel turbine is a fun addition and the fan really turns which is nice for playing. Plays like a standard mini car and seems reasonably sturdy. although I did only push it around the table making strange "brmm, brmm" noises. When I bought this set, I expected Lego to have done a poor job with a hypercard like a McLaren Senna. After I finished building the car, I was surprised at how realistic this car was. As hard as I try, I can think of only 2 minor cons: The exhausts are at the wrong angle and the clear stickers are hard to apply and show fingerprints. Other than that, just about everything is perfect with this set. Lego really scored with making the back end realistic. Even the color scheme is an official Senna color scheme! Also, this set has a high piece count for a 1-car Speed Champions set, making it a good deal.I cannot think of anyone who would not want to buy this set.
