The train set was a great surpise to my son. He spent hours putting it together. I shoppped arond and got a good buy it now price compared to local retail. He plays with it a lot but is a little bored as it only goes in oval shape. More straight track would be good in the kit. He is saving up for more track and station pieces.

When I revived it, it was disassembled and in little plastic bags corresponding to when you were supposed to assemble the sections. I do love it when I recived a product better than expected.

This product was purchased as a Christmas present for my 8 year old grandson. It is superbly made as you would expect from this manufacturer, although he needed help to build the train. It is remotely controlled, and although you need a large number of AAA batteries, it works extremely well. The oval of track for a train of this size is a little small, so extra track was purchased, which increased the enjoyment of operation greatly. When I asked him to rate this product from the available options, without hesitation he thought it deserved an excellent rating....and who am I to argue with that.

I bought this for my son many years ago, then passed it on to my neighbours boys. Now I've bought the same for my Grandson and I hope he plays with it as much as my son and neighbours have.
Nicely done MOC, I've another of these for a different train line, not sure it is the same artist. At any rate this one fits right in and enhances the train it is meant to go with.

The set is well packaged and comes with easy to follow instructions. in no time at all, my son had built the powered driver's carriage and had it happily running around the track in less than 30 minutes. If you and/or your children like Lego, then this is a fantastic set. The only drawback is the small amount of track provided and the speed at which the train drains a set of 6 AAA batteries. This isn't such a terrible issue if you buy more track and invest in good quality rechargeable batteries and a fast charger.
I bought this train for my 7 year old son, who loves Lego. It took him about an Hour and half to make, and in his words, "it was easy" The train travels quit quickly, however a few more straights would have been a good idea. Generally worth the money. He has now built the Emerald Night, which took 2 hours. Depending if you like steam or electric, the choice is yours, but a 7 year old preferred the Red train.
My son loves Lego and trains so what better present for him to find under the Christmas tree? It is great because of forward nad reverse function similar to that of normal electric train with no cords attached to the train. The only downside is the amount of track - so of course we purchased more so it could do more than one loop. I would buy this product again (or even variations on it) as it provides hours of entertainment in both construction and play. Best part about this train being made of Lego is being able to dismantle it and recreate at will.
I ordered this for my son for Christmas. It was shipped quickly and arrived promptly in time for Christmas, however, it was not packaged in a box! A shipping label was slapped directly on the lego box itself, and arrived on my front porch for my son to pick up and bring in the house. It was 5 days before Christmas. Bummer!My 9-year-old son had this put together in no time flat and was playing with it all day. He loves it. I was hoping it would have taken longer to put together considering the cost, but other that the shipping debacle, I am pleased with the purchase.
bought this after checking prices in shops. product was 30 cheaper on ebay! it is exactly the same as the one in tesco, therefore, on price, it is a bargain. however, the set is very small for the money and it took me 4.5 hours to build the thing- most of christmas day, to be precise! I also bought extra track from ebay, which is essential as you don't get much, but it is lego, so was always going to be expensive
