One of the most valuable monuments in South Korea - the Sungnyemun. This majestic gate to the South Korean capital, Seoul, is also known as the "Great Southern Gate" and is the only one of the four gates built in the late 14th century to protect the capital that has survived. In 1962, this impressive monument of the Joseon Dynasty was designated as South Korea's first national cultural heritage, but in 2008 it was nearly completely destroyed in a fire. Fortunately, this monument, highly valued by the people of South Korea, is being fully renovated by 2012 to shine again in its former glory. This LEGO Architecture interpretation of the Sungnyemun was designed by American architect Adam Reed Tucker in collaboration with the LEGO design team.
