Whew, building the vase was time consuming with a LOT of tedious, repetitive work. Building the stems was also fairly tedious. Instructions were clear, however, but maybe this was too ambitious a project for my first Lego build in over three decades. I got it done, despite having not enough room to lay everything out neatly, and I REALLY love the final result. It's one of those cases where the destination really does justify the journey.

It's been quite some time since I have enjoyed Lego for myself, beside the occasional sets I have bought my children and subsequently stepped on later when it's in pieces on the floor, this is the first time I can remember exclusively buying myself a set. I have found this an enjoyable set to build and once it's complete it is exquisite to look at. Just as a note to those with small children or cheeky pets, find somewhere secure to display this gorgeous flower set as the base is filled with individual Lego bits which may be swallowed, or yet again scattered across the floor for me to step on (ouch!)

This was recommended by a friend and I say it didn't disappoint.I'm quite new to Lego building and this was my 1st piece.As part of the older generation to Lego I loved creating this beautiful set. I'm now we'll and truly addicted now and have since purchased the orchid and the bouquet.It really helps me to relax in the evening after work.

I was thrilled to receive this lovely Lego set. My family have been building Lego since I was little, and the Bird of Paradise is an absolute favourite of mine. Aimed at adults 18+, but a capable teenager would be able to complete. It took me approximately 90 minutes to build at a leisurely, enjoyable pace. The instructions provided were - as always with Lego - very clear and easy to follow. It was nice to see some unusual pieces that I've not come across before, and the build was slightly challenging but not overly complex. The finished article s a stunning piece of art that I'm proud to display. Highly recommended
Bought this because I enjoyed the Orchid build for the most part and like having the plants as a decoration. This is definitely overpriced for what it is - the build is mostly the vase and pretty repetitive, would have been nice for more flowers or some more variety. It's nature so what can you expect. The worst part is that 300 pieces are just for the soil in the pot - the last step is literally mix 300 stud pieces in a bag and dump them into the center. I thought that was kind of pathetic for a Lego set, so the piece count is definitely padded with that and the technic pieces to join the stems together. Get this only when it's on sale - not a $100 purchase. About 2 and a half hours to build the rest of it.
As any serious Lego buyer knows, the box is part of the buyer's treasure. The box for this bird of paradise plant was shipped to me along with another Lego kit in a shipping box with usual air pocket plastic filler. The actual Lego box is crushed and bent. Certainly this appears it was done at Target warehouse. I found the same crushed typed boxes when looking for a nice one, as a gift for a friend in the retail store. 5 were extensively crushed or creased at corners and sides, so I purchased the only uncrushed one. I'll be taking this one, shipped to me, back for a refund. Buy it if you don't care about the collector box being damaged.
Really spectacular piece. The instructions were clear as always, the design so innovative. The flowers truly look like birds of paradise. We got it as a gift for my sons to build with their grandmother who loves birds of paradise and it was perfect. Truly spectacular. Thank you!
I loved this set! It a great size to decorate a room, and looks amazing. I hope Lego makes more leafy plant sets. I’m all about to cut back in my real plants , I just don’t have the time or memory to care for them. I rather put together a puzzle and follow Lego instructions . Only took about 2-3 hours while watching a movie.
I received this as a gift for my birthday and it was everything I hoped for! I’ve had my eye on this set for a year now and it did not disappoint. The vase/base is very sturdy and the leaves are also very sturdy which I like. This build took me 4 hours total and I loved every minute of it. A few small things I would improve. The price is a bit high. I think $60-$75 would have been more reasonable for this set. Also there are some odd color choices for pieces like grey and black pieces in the stem and the insert in part of the stems is blue (but you really can’t see it unless your 1 inch away from it). These are not big enough things that should deter you from this set. If you get this set you won’t be disappointed!

I unfortunately have to spend a lot of time in bed and with a lap tray this was perfectly do-able (and highly enjoyable). I have a house full of real plants, but this gives me an option to pop some planty loveliness in a place that wouldn't be suitable for a real houseplant. It's currently on my husband's work-from-home desk - giving it a bit of personality and "zen" without the burden of him needing to care for it.I would recommend this to anyone with a love for Lego, but especially those who are looking to add a more "adult" vibe to their build.
