The first manual is a short one. You assemble three Minifigures and the motorcycle. I like the motorbike. A lot of people complain LEGO does too much police and fire stuff, but I have never actually collected any of them before. So, getting a police motorbike was really nice in my opinion.With the second manual, you assemble the crook’s tow truck and the police cruiser. Again, I did not previously have a police car, so I really like this one. On the plus side though, this car has a little dashboard sticker and steering wheel for more authenticity.The tow truck is nothing special, and I will disassemble it for parts shortly. LEGO has produced several much nicer tow trucks in other sets. This one come with two lengths of chain and a grappling hook that attaches to them. This goes with the jail break play feature that I will discuss later. I like this grappling hook much more than the ones that tend to come with the Super Heroes theme since it has a hooked end that can attach to the chain.Book three contains the instructions for the helicopter. As far as helicopters go, this one is ok. I have a number of LEGO helicopters at this point, and most of them have been disassembled. I will keep this one built though. I like the storage compartments on its sides. Plus, I need a police helicopter for the landing pad on the station roof.The fourth manual has the instructions for building the garage module. I like the way that garage door opens. I know this is not a new feature, but again, having never collected police or fire sets before, this is my first such door. I do wish that the garage was more sealed off on the sides though. There is also what appears to be either a lookout tower or an air traffic control tower. I suppose it could serve as both given that there are holding cells and a helicopter landing pad in this set. The second floor has an equipment storage room. There are no stairs or ladders to get from floor to floor, which is a little annoying. The whole structure is open in the back for accessibility.Book five is the instructions for the holding cells and another garage area. I am not sure why they made two garages, I guess one for the motorbike and one for the car. But, the space could have been better used for something else. I like the cells, they are spacious and contain a bed, sink, and toilet. There is also no shortage of ways to escape. Each cell features two easily removable barred walls. Both also feature trap doors under the toilets. In addition, the top cell can be accessed through a hinged plate in the roof. They are fun play features, but I will probably make my custom version a little more secure. Like with the previous section, this one is also open in the back, and has no stairs.The final instruction manual is for my favorite part of the police station. This is probably the section that I will alter the least in my custom version. There are two floors. The first has the main lobby and reception with a waiting area and coffee machine. Upstairs you have the criminal booking area with a camera set up. I love the wall chart for determining the height of the crooks. The roof has the helicopter landing pad. But, again, there is no way to get from floor to floor. This building is also open on two sides, which is a major downer for me.Overall, I don’t have too many huge complaints about this set. My major ones can be summed up as the set being too open and having no stairs. The details are pretty good in otherwise. The vehicles are nice too, except maybe the tow truck (which is not bad, just not that exciting either). All the play features are amusing and work very well. I like the build for this set and give it 8/10.

Chase those Crooks!

I love this Police Station.I have built and played with other Police Stations but I was very happy with this one; happier than with others. After assembling the set, I arranged it on the light gray 15 in. x 15 in. plate. The figures are fantastic and I was really happy with the female police officer. I could have managed with a different vehicle over another police bike but that is a personal matter because I have sooo many of them. I would love to have had an armored vehicle or even a prison transport. Delightful Set!

This set was one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. The amount of door frames, windows, and doors is spectacular. 49 in total! The escape routes under the two toilets is fun, and the hatch up top is a good bonus. 4 of the 10 jail cell bars can be pulled out by the crooks truck and grappling hook. A helicopter, motorcycle, and two cars come with this set. Also, a great sticker sheet is included. lots of large plates are present also. The only thing that could be better is if it was on a baseplate so it would fit into a city better. I ask LEGO that they would have the "Baseplate, Road 32 x 32 7-Stud Straight with Double Driveway" return. Other than that, great job LEGO!

So much fun to be had here, with all mod-cons; toilets & beds and basin with taps.There are hidden trap doors from roof top through the cell block, where the toilets fall though, and the crooks make their escape right into the driveway with the boom gate.The bars of 4 windows on the 2 levels can be pulled out by the tow truck so the escape can be made that way too.The Air Traffic Control tower sits high above the Satellite coms dish, perched on top of the Roll-a-door Garage which can house either the Pursuit Car or the Highway Patrol Motorcycle with driver or rider still in position, making for quick entry and exit from the garage.All in all, this is another great Police station from lego, very playable nice to display, and it is BIG! ****

Great gift for a lego fan!

My son who was turning 6 really wanted this Lego set. I was a little hesitant at first because of the cost and amount of pieces. Since this was the one gift he had his heart set on, I decided to get it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to put together, and even though there were a lot of pieces the instructions were broke down by various books and corresponding numbered Lego bags; making it fool proof to put together even for a 6 year old. It is a impressive set once put together and my son has been playing with it for weeks. I was really impressed with all the little details including a water cooler! If you are debating about getting this set, you should get it! you won't be disappointed!

Great set, lacks compatibility with other sets

I love this station set. There are a lot of great details and features. It's a great city starter set and I had been looking to add it to my collection for some time. Was happy with the purchase except for one thing.My only gripe is the gated entrance where the police cruiser is seen exiting on the box. Maybe this is a small gripe, but it is not compitable with some of the other police sets. I love complete set lines. I love all the fire emergency vehicles and basing them around the fire station set, where they all fit. However, with the Police Station, the only vehicles that fit through the gate are the 2 police cruisers (this set and the chase set 60042). LOVE LEGOS!

Though for my grandsons, I already KNOW it will be a hit! The Wal-Mart price is not to be beat, as for a reputable place to buy, without fear there will be a problem AFTER purchase. Our grandchildren will be visiting from CA next month, and I like to pretend it's Christmas, or birthdays! We rarely see them during these times as they have school, sports, and otherwise busy lives. But, I BUY their Legos, and they are usually put together during the first day or two of their 2 wk stay. Being, now 13 & 17, I still can't go wrong with Legos! As ALWAYS, they're AWESOME! The Station is a great addition to the several CITY sets they each have.

Legos police headquarters is great

I purchased this item for my son's 7th birthday. He was eyeing it in the stores for a while. He was excited to see it. He nearly built the whole thing by himself. At the end, he said it was getting hard. I think he was just wanting it built already because at 880 pieces, it was the largest set he had built alone. It's completed now, all the pieces were there and it turned out awesome. Also, when I purchased this online and on sale, it was by far the cheapest place you could find it.Good job Walmart!

Plan Your Escape!

I got this set for Christmas. It is awesome!My favorite piece is the chopper. It has been over 20 years since I’ve built a Lego chopper and this one is great. It uses a couple of “cabinet” pieces to store some police items…like a camera and a bullhorn. As others have pointed out, though, it doesn’t actually connect to the helipad…it just kind of sits there. I imagine this will lead to it falling off more than once or twice.The station itself is very cool. It is made up of three larger builds…the watch tower (which includes a cool radar/satellite dish), the jail cell tower (the cells include interesting wall drawing stickers and neat escape plans), and the office tower (with a couple of areas for processing those pesky criminals).The other vehicles are also ... MoreI got this set for Christmas. I purchased this set last year for my youngest son who is not just Lego mad but also loves anything Emergency service related. It was purchased alongside the Lego Firestation 60110.(Please Note that this set has been replaced with 60141)Anyway we just gave it to him for his birthday and he loves it!There is a really good number of pieces and stickers with the set, and they all go together fairly easily so it takes just over an hour to build everything.You get a three part police station, Two cars, the helicopter and police bike. there are also quite a few figurinesThe finished set clips together very neatly and the cat walk is a nice finishing touch.
