This is such a thought out Lego set! It’s perfect for little kids who love frozen. My daughter can start putting the proper pieces together now! 10/10!

The smaller builds were more fun, and visually appealing than the ice castle itself. Too many large pieces for my liking. However, the minifigures are exceptionally cute. The castle does not remind me of the one from the film, but the build was fun enough. A lot of small, thoughtful details save what could have a lacklustre set.Definitely a build for the kids, anot us adult fans. I definitely recommend this for any little princess in your life.

The reason this set gets a full three stars is because Lego supports their products so well. The castle itself is quite cute. In the three weeks that she has had this set, more twenty more pieces have broken while playing with them. They are so extraordinarily brittle that they just fall to pieces. Hopefully I just got a bad production run or something, because Lego is a big part of our life and we have never had pieces break like this. I can't decide if the spiral staircase is silly or really neat. Other reviewers have pointed out how weird the ice cream parlor and ski house things are. They seem unnecessary. The sled ramp (not the sled itself) is also kind of strange. It feels almost as if Lego threw more pieces in there just to get the piece number up.That said, I love the picnic blanket and sandwich, so maybe those weird side pieces grab people differently.I love how "girl" Lego bricks have so many fun colors. These very light blue pieces add nice variety.I do think it would be fun to have Sven and Kristoff.Mostly I feel like the value that this set has is that it's Frozen. If you absolutely must have Frozen stuff, then get it. If you want a set that's fun to build, change, and build again, this isn't the set to buy. Sorry to say it.

Frozen with special Lego Olaf minifigure

Our family loves Lego and all things Disney. We adore the new Frozen movie that shows it's okay to love ones family. Everyone loves this cute Frozen set, I have Aspie teens 14 and 17, who love LEGO with a passion and both wanted to get this set for the cute Olaf mini-figure.These new Disney Lego sets have cute new design mini-figures that are not the standard Lego take apart ones. They are more representative of actual Disney characters with bottoms attached, and with that comes limitations. The new ones usually only have changeable removable hair.

Good for Display ONLY!

I bought this Frozen Lego Set for my 6 year old daughter as a gift. This is her first-ever Lego set. She was thrilled when she saw it! The manual included pictorials as to how to put this together and does not have any written details. The Lego pieces are extremely small! I'm petite at 4'11" with petite hands and I was still fumbling with the tiny lego pieces as I was putting the set together. Once completed, the castle looked so pretty! My daughter couldn't wait to play with her new Frozen Lego Set, but the quality was not very good. Elsa and Anna's hair pieces kept popping off their heads, the branches kept falling off the trees, flowers and other attachments would frequently fall off. The pieces were just not a very good fit! Neat set, could have been a lot better

First off let me start by saying its a good, fun set. My 5 year old girl loves it. As a Lego builder and Lego fan I find the price point to be a little high. I get the Disney price affiliation but at almost 15 cents per piece its not a good value. Not sure how you can underestimate anything FROZEN and be out of stock within days of release. As for the build, a castle with 250 pieces is incredibly small. This could have been built with a lot more thought instead of basically copying the princess castle and changing the color. How bout a better and bigger set in the future with say 2500 pieces? Maybe for Frozen 2.

Once Upon A Time...?
5 January 2015

I purchased the set at Target on December 19, 2014, despite prolific numbers of articles online suggesting it would not be available until 2015; I feel like Lego should've made more effort to market this well before the holidays, as greedy e-Bay merchants were requesting 2-3 times the retail price--which brings me to note that like another reviewer, I believe even the list retail price is a bit steep for what you get here, let alone e-Bay rates! The set is quite small for the price, but it did take a good bit of time to assemble due to sorting through the myriads of tiny pieces (definitely not something you'd want a small child assembling due to choking hazard or just the chance of losing such small pieces due to a child's carelessness). The end product IS really cute, but as another review points out correctly, it's not really representative of the actual movie. The ice cream parlor(!) on the ground floor of the castle conjures up the images from the live action ABC show "Once Upon a Time" where Anna & Elsa's Snow Queen aunt had an ice cream shoppe in Storybrooke. There is a spot for the included skis that suggests a nod to Oaken's store next to the ice cream parlor area. The accessories & decor on the upper floors makes you think they were trying to merge the Arendelle castle with Elsa's actual ice palace. Also, you have Kristoff's sled--but no Kristoff or Sven, for that matter. Olaf's included picnic is a sweet touch, though (but why isn't his "hair" painted on his head?). And only one pair of skates? I actually got 3 skates in my set (there are, thankfully, a few extra pieces just in case you lose a small part), but that leaves one sister...out in the cold? There are hair ribbons you can attach to the sisters, but that's not really part of the movie--luckily, my set had 2 crowns included (although the building manual depicts only one). Not sure Elsa would've had so many torches in an ICE castle, I seem to remember a chandelier in the movie. I would recommend the set for child's play, but do not expect this to accurately represent what you saw in the movie. The set is adorably cute and fun to build, even with all the fussy tiny pieces, but the price is a bit more than what you'd expect for a set this size.

The Frozen essence

We tried to resist but it's familiarity that thaws a frozen heart. Yes, yes we bought it for a 4.5 year old. Yes, yes, she 'LOVES' Elsa and Anna. And yes, she does play with it.... quite a lot.The build: it's pretty straightforward. I had to go back a couple of times (but I think I'm still new to this). You get a number of useful items, the sleigh, a pair of skates, a pair of skis, Olaf's 'in summer' picnic. So there's some play value and boy can those littlies stretch out what they've got. When I'm pressganged into playing, I struggle a bit to find new ways to play; we've skied, we've picnicked, we've sleighed or is it sledded?, we've taken it in turns to skate. Only one bed so I've built another! We also made some pretty blue flower ice scapes from our other ... MoreWe tried to resist but it's familiarity that thaws a frozen heart. Only one bed so I've built another! We also made some pretty blue flower ice scapes from our other lego bricks as this seemed more in keeping. We made a telly and sofa. I'd have liked 2 mugs for the girls to have cocoa so have borrowed from another set. The ice lolly and ice cream are ok but I felt in the movie they both loved 'choclate'.I think this feels like the 'start' of your Frozen piece. For builders (as opposed to players), it actually sparks lots of extra building. Every new set of Mixels is a potential Marshmallow man. For players, like my daughter, we've got a Friends boy to be Kristoff. (Andy is a good sub.) And now I find myself mulling over what could be a troll! I keep looking at hobbit characters......So it's good and your little ones will get play value out of it. You on the other hand may feel it's not quite complete.....

some fairly fragile bricks in this build

The bad: who can say if it was a matter of transit, older plastic, or just the design but a few bricks have pincer like pieces meant to clamp onto other bricks. On all but two, the moment we placed the other piece into those clamps, they broke! Easy enough to replace, they are apparently common enough pieces that lego's pick a brick website has them available, but it was disappointing to myself and my child. I'm overseeing her build, in case she needs help, instructing her to be careful, stepped in to do this step myself since the bricks looked delicate - snap! Since so many broke, I'm guessing it's the age of the plastic and that this was a used item. Really cute, has kept my daughter entertained every time she sets it up.
