The building techniques are fairly simple, very few odd angles that basically should make up this building and provide its characteristics - for me that's missing. The inside is basically one big hall with a gallery that cannot be reached without magic because no staircase or anything else leads there. The two main elements -the base with vaults and the bank building- can be put together and it's not shaky (which is something I assumed it would be) and you can actually carry the entire set, while heavy- around without the building falling off. Beyond that it is nice that you can attach it to the Diagon Alley set 75978, then without the base (or you can put a hole in your table so you can keep it together and build an actual cave under the table (which is something I am actually considering).I don't care much for minifigures, but some of the main characters are included, some of them were already in set 75978. The Goblins are new to me as minifigures as far as I can tell. Finally, and unfortunately, as always there was a piece missing, which is something I never had until 2020 with LEGO sets. Since then I only had a handful of sets that had all and correct pieces in them (often all pieces are there but in the wrong color, for example). It takes LEGO roughly two weeks to send the missing/replacement pieces which significantly impacts the building experience. The box gives a false impression of how much is actually in there. There is a smaller white box inside the outside packaging and all bags fit in that little box that is about 40% of the volume of the outside packaging. A significant part of the weight comes from the 4 building instruction booklets. There is a nice aspect to it: technically 2-3 people can build at the same time, 1-2 build the two sections of the cave/vaults and one is building the actual bank. So it can be a nice thing to do together. But it won't take you very long. It took me just a notch over 6 hours to build the entire thing by myself. This is a nice set to have but there are some downsides to it. For me the biggest one is the price point. This set in the LEGO universe has a value of around $300. The $430 is an unreasonably high and unjustified price and while I like the set, it is absolutely not worth this price. Maybe if sales numbers are down LEGO will reduce the price to a more reasonable level, like they did with the fussball table set or the big Hulkbuster. With a 30% discount I would say buy it and enjoy having the set.

Ok, so first off I'm late reviewing this awesome set because I first had to build the Diagon Alley set that I had originally ordered. And well you can't have the whole set without Gringotts so I ordered it. The detail on this set is just fantastic, like you guys really amaze me with the things you create. I tried to build this set slowly so I could enjoy putting it together. I love to watch how other peoples minds think. My hats off to those that came up with this. It has been a joy for the whole family as I put this together. The top is super heavy and it's just magic how the bottom holds it up. I think the way there are little things like hidden items in the walls is just fabulous. I also want to thank my son who oversees my work and if it wasn't for him I would ... MoreOk, so first off I'm late reviewing this awesome set because I first had to build the Diagon Alley set that I had originally ordered. I thought the dragon would have been harder to put together but to my wonder it was actually not that hard and it looks great sitting up on top.

The interior is amazing and I really loved to see the marble printed pieces for the columns. Now, the vault system was what surprised me most. It was totally unexpected and really made this set whole. They even give you all three of the vaults from the major plot points in the movies. This set is timeless and definitely is one of my favorites from LEGO.Now, the only thing that bothered me about this set is the lovely sticker on the front that says “Gringot ts Bank”. My question is, does this drive anyone else nuts or is it just me. I tried putting the stickers as close as possible, which made it better, but I am still bothered by the gap. I don’t know if there just wasn't any other option but if possible LEGO, can we make sure single words aren't split up on different stickers for future sets. Otherwise, this set is perfect from the building and to the price! One of the best sets LEGO has ever made and definitely is worth the purchase. Great job designers and can’t wait to see what is released in the future! Would love to see a Collectors edition Chamber of Secrets or Knight Bus one day! Till then, back to waiting!

Hidden Gems
23 September 2023

Building Gringotts Wizarding Bank was a blast! There were so many little hidden gems in this build, I was totally amazed. The detail that the designers put into creating this model was mind blowing. I loved the explanation as we went through and saw some of the gems come to life, and then found them again throughout the build with additional explanation. It just tied the whole experience together. I highly recommend this build for any hobbyist, any Harry Potter fans, or just anyone that wants to spend a few, well quite a few, afternoons putting this very enjoyable piece together. And, it fits in perfectly with Diagon Alley! Great bonus!

It’s finally here, the set that we have all been waiting for. This set is fantastic, and looks great. I do recommend to take your time, and do not rush. The mini figure selection is great, and I do like the fact you get five goblins “ plus one more if you got the GWP”.Only really big complaint that I do have is the stickers. There are a lot, and don’t like how the used of stickers as windows on the out side windows. Also the stickers that spell Gringotts in the front are not together. Other than that this set is amazing. You can not have a Diagon Alley without Gringotts, so I suggest you get both.

Lot of money for an average set

Build quality wasn’t really that well thought out when added to Diagon Alley. The set is too short and in my opinion should have been 5-8cm taller to match the scale of the other sets.Seems to be a number of random bricks added within the general build. I get the feeling that bricks were added, just to get the total number of bricks to a high number.I would have liked to have seen a way in which the Lego figures could move from the upper to the lower level through a staircase, rather than how it currently is.The waterfall section seems like an afterthought along with the glass roof which should be a dome shape rather than a flat roof. The interior could have been made longer to incorporate additional desks too.Rated a 2/5 Set

I’ve been hoping for this set to be made for a while and received it for my birthday. I took my time building it and took 2 weeks. Lots of great features, feel bad that some of them get covered up never to be seen again. The GWP fits well to expand the mine, and I don’t hate the number of stickers, even don’t mind the gap in the name as the building is wonky after all. I hate putting windows together more than I hate stickers as I have to have all the writing at the bottom facing the right way so it takes ages, but that’s on me not Lego. My shelf isn’t long enough to display with Diagon Alley as one but am still really happy with the finished article, I’ll miss building it as a chill time after work. There isn’t much space to play in when you turn the model around ... MoreI’ve been hoping for this set to be made for a while and received it for my birthday. I've been excited since the rumors of a new Gringotts that would cap the street for my Diagon ally. When I saw this, well, I was less excited. I had to get it anyway because how long will it be until I can get something else that will fulfill its replacement? 1) I don't love that I am forced to get underground work that sits elsewhere from the scene because as part of the scale, city, it Gringotts might as well be launching off like a shuttle out of Diagon. 2) I'm super sat that in a $400+ model that LEGO could not or would not find a better fix that the floating TS outside of Gringot. Yes, you can cut the sticker. Should you have to? There are stickers that go right to the edge with the graphic; the piece could have been a printed piece in this almost 1/2 grand model; the spacing between the letters could have been widened to compensate. 3) The dragon was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting something grand that covered the building while resting, like WWoHP at Universal. What I got was something that was lacking. Spend brick cound from the mining track on the dragon instead, in my opinion. It has about the same price as the 75978 Diagon Alley for about 700 less pieces when areas are lacking, which is not a huge issue (cost/piece) IF all areas are sufficiently filled in and accounted for. I found that the piece-difference made a large impact of my sense of grandeur and impact of the building.TL;DR: This set was not thoughtful of the people who were looking forward to an add-on for the 75978 Diagon Ally set. Coupled with other misses, for me, I would not recommend this for the majority of people.

This is the biggest set I've built so far. It was a doozy, but in a good way. The instructions were so easy to follow, everything fit together perfectly, and it was packaged in such a way that my husband and son were able to help me put it together. Not to mention that it looks great on display in my living room. I love that the top and bottom separate to help aid in moving the set and also playing without concern of something being knocked over. Overall it's a really great build. I'm very happy with it.

This set is the very definition of a masterpiece ! Everything that I have hoped for this set have been done. Amazingly detailed ! Extremely HUGE ! I am not afraid to say that this set is now part of my top 3 favorite sets ever made ! I bought it on day one, with the free gifts. There was a problem on the website at first, so I refreshed the website for at least 2 HOURS straight to finally be able to buy it lol That was hard work to get it, but I finally got it. Well deserved ! I have absolutely nothing wrong to say about this set. This set is just ultimate pure happiness ! Thank you LEGO :)
