I think I exptected more It is similar to the first Harry Potter games, so it is easy to adapt. Big difference is in duelling mode and it's a change for better. But sometimes soultions how to pass a level are hard to find and you spend a lot of time running and checking which thing you forgot to zap. Plot goes directly with line of Harry Potter's movies, as always, but thare are few scenes that I wanted to play, but they weren't adapted for the game. Achievements are also a bit disappointing, and predictable. Apart from a bit hard ones like getting all bricks and crests, there are few that make you do something special. The games playable and nice, but it tends to get boring after few gos of playing. Awesome Sauce - Was so glad to get this because I had finished the first one and really wanted to see what the next version was like. While many of the areas you'll recognize from the first years, it is def a different game. Loved that I got the game a few days earlier than expected too. Thanks!

This WBIE product for the Wii system is garbage. Simple research on the open source outlets indicates an endemic "screen freeze" problem (which I personally am experiencing) and no solution available, aside from calling WBIE customer service (410-568-3680) and reporting your copy as defective. This *might* work, however, WBIE customer service's phone number is currently not working. I have been a loyal fan of the Lego franchise games for the Wii, and this is not the first time I have experienced a freeze with their product; however, it IS the first (and last) time I have been unable to workaround/complete the game because of a defect. And that I cannot reach the customer service crew is simply insult on top of injury. Thanks for my new coffee table coaster, WB.
I absolutely love all the games in this series. This was the first in the series that I'm playing on other that a 3DS. Think in a lot of ways the Vita just has more power and can handle this style game very well. Even if I'm partial to the 3D graphics on all my other versions. This particular title is a fun contender to all the others. A great buy for a fan of the series, also a great buy for someone just trying the Lego series for the first time. If you're a fan of the movies even better, you'll have a better idea of what's going on since there's no dialogue between the characters.
This is a close, a very close top favorite Harry Potter game. Oh and I haven't even finished! Me and my friend beat Yrs. 1-4 on the Xbox 360, and now we are starting on yrs 5-7 on the Wii! The graphics are great, the characters are great, the humor is great, oh and the music...perfect music from the films! It almost made me cry... instead though, I shouted gleefully, shooting spells at Dudley! Everything looks great. A lot of funny moments, including the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge. The menu is soooo dramatic, with Death Eaters trying to penetrate Hogwarts and intense Deathly Hallows music playing on a rainy night. lots of fun! I really love this game! Can't wait to play more!
I love this game! Wasn't going to get Lego games but they are truly excellent - for adults too. After playing 1st Lego Harry Potter for a couple weeks and finishing the game the first time couldn't wait to get this one! They have so much content they are designed to play through once then each level on Free Play. Funny engaging, lots of content this is my favorite game series right now - lots of puzzles to figure out as well as some "combat" that is challenging but doable. Great game!
I loved the LEGO Harry Potter 1-4 game for the DS. As a big Harry Potter fan I loved how in the first game you learned to cast spells and mixed potions. I was so excited for the second part Harry Potter years 5-7 to be released. I purchased the game the first week it was out and when I went to play it, the controls were very different. You don't ever have to use the stylus anymore and to cast a spell you just hit a button. The game screen even tells you when to hit A and B, etc. The fun part about the first game was running around and moving the stylus in different patterns like a wand. The makers of years 5-7 really dumbed down this game and took all the 'wizard like' game play away. Way to ruin an excellent game!
Whether a fan of Harry Potter, Lego, or just good ol' fashioned action adventure, this Harry Potter gem's got you covered! And with a diverse cast of characters, Lego-themed, and leveled difficulty, anyone can enjoy! The Wii version is definitely the preferred choice waving the Wii Wand like an actual Wand!!! So have a fun playing together, and battle like a true witch or wizard!!!
There was a lot of reviews claiming the game was unplayable do to it locking up but it only has happened to us once so far. Tried to leave a stage as a cat. There was an update to be installed before we could play the game so it may have fixed it. The game itself is entirely different than 1 - 4 however. They've brought in game mechanics from lego batman and lego Indiana Jones which is quite obvious but at the same time they made this game more immersive than 1 - 4. Bravo. They could have done better with the character wall. It's really confusing to find the characters to buy.
