This is a beautiful set. It took me about 8 hours to complete it. I did it over a 2 day period. The build experience was a lot of fun. It also lights up as well and comes with a motor. I highly recommend this set! It makes a beautiful decoration in your room/house.

I would have liked to have seen a bit more detail in the lighthouse floors as when you remove a panel you just see a ladder. Another one or two minifigs would have been good also. Only bug was the book - no red lines so you had to browse every picture to find out where a brick was meant to go and some were hidden behind other bricks so took some working out.

This is one of my favourite lego builds. The construction is solid, it looks spectacular at every stage, and includes all the attention to detail needed in an adult set. Thoroughly enjoyable to build and a beautiful piece once finished.
Is it expensive? YES.Is it worth it? Most definitely YES!!!To look at the finished product you would think you could knock it over in an afternoon. However, the level of detail that has gone into this set is truly amazing.The techniques used to complete some of the sections just made me shake my head and wonder how the guys at Lego come up with this stuff.A lot of thought has gone into this, especially in trying to hide all of the mechanical parts so that the lighthouse looks like a normal brick build; until you flick the lever in the cave, and then it's WOW.
This is one of my favourite builds to date.There’s so many new technic I learnt from this set.It ignited my interest in dabbling in motorised parts which I’m now trying.Loved every moment of it.
Looks great when completed. Would be nice if you could install the lights as you built the kit. The instructions are written for a retro-fit. Some of the steps required removing a significant number ofBlocks and they are somewhat challenging to reinstall after the fact.
I thoroughly enjoy building this lighthouse, with all the detail and brilliant design. The hanging bat and treasure chest and the detail in the house makes it even more special! And the added bonus of the motorised light makes it a masterpiece!
I've been building Lego for around 15 years. This is the first time I've come across instructions so confusing, the new pages don't come with red outlines, and the spacial awareness is lacking. (I.e. telling you to build behind other bricks without spinning the diagram around).It's okay for the price, but definitely not worth 470 in my opinion.
The box came crushed on both ends. They're usually packed well, but when I opened the box, there was no padding on the inside, so inner box was crushed too. Luckily, nothing was hurt on the inside,The lighthouse itself was fun to build and it looks great!
