As an architecture, gardening and Lego enthusiast, this set seemed tailored to my taste and it didn’t disappoint. The varied build that seemed to perfectly switch between intricate plant builds and the grand architectural structure was thoroughly enjoyable. The finished build has to be the most beautiful building Lego has ever released. As some one who owns many of the early Modular buildings along with some of the more recent, including the original Ninjago city. In my opinion this set has surpassed them all for build experience and is by far my new favourite.Thank you to the fan designer and the team at Lego for turning her stunning concept into this beautiful work of art.

First let me say that I am a huge fan of the Lego Botanical lineWhen I watched the video that showed that this was coming I knew I had to get itI don't usually buy new sets on release day, but with this I didThis set will go with my other Botanical sets and sets that feature Botanicals but officially are notI know that it is probably considered a crazy expensive set for what it is, but if you are like me and have become practically addicted to the Lego Botanical/related sets then this is a set you can't afford to miss out on

Without question, this is a very impressive set when finally complete. The build itself generally alternates between larger architectural forms and smaller flora. The going can be rather slow and sometimes tedious, if not strictly repetitive. Of course, the pay-off is in the marvelous detail and watching it all come together when the roof finally goes on is amazing. The roof in particular is extremely solid and very translucent; it is the highlight of this set. Much has been said about the cost of this set and I had some mixed feelings about it while building. So much of Lego is experiential and that's not something one can easily put a value on. Ultimately, it IS worth the price. Beautiful Build
12 November 2024

Absolutely loved building this set. Love the unique pieces of flowers and fauna - only wish those pieces were available to buy as I would love to add more to this build. They would also come in handy to add to the garden I'm building with Lego piece to which this greenhouse will be added. I refer to this as a Greenhouse, that would sit in a Botantical Garden. Go to any Botantical Garden and you have the gardens and the Greenhouse[s] that hold[s] the unique and fragile plants. A garden is a piece of ground where flowers, trees and grass grows. This is not a garden but a greenhouse.

Botanical garden? More like greenhouse (GOT EM!)

Ok first of all, IDK why this is called a botanical garden. This is at best a greenhouse. Botanical Gardens are large commercial often 4 to 5 times larger than a greenhouse. This build is depicting a botanical garden with 3 rooms? This “botanical garden” is smaller than most greenhouses.80% of what makes this set so offensively bad is that its claiming to be larger than it is. I don’t care how many Lego Review Youtubers are saying that its average sized, but anybody who has been inside of a botanical garden knows they are supposed to be larger than this. Also, I know the AFOLs are going to say “its not about the size of your garden, its about the biodiversity of you flora” To which I say there’s not that many different types of flora represented. There’s two types of trees but that’s it? Theres also no depiction of old growth trees? Which is standard for most botanical gardens. Theres also very little in terms of tropical plants like cacti? In the manual it says there are 34 species of plant depicted. Most botanical gardens have well over 100 different plant species. But you can’t have a high biodiversity of plants in a tiny greenhouse.Just to cover my bases with this review I did look up the fan submission for the botanical garden on the Lego Ideas website, and its worse. Its just a one room botanical garden. It not only doesn’t qualify as a botanical garden it debatably doesn’t even qualify as a greenhouse, its maybe just a green room.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this set, because better versions of this concept have already been executed. If you are looking for a botanical garden build there’s a Lego friends botanical garden, that you can buy 4 copies of (its still costs less than this set) and you can assemble a much bigger botanical garden.Additionally, if you are just looking for a large build, Just get the UCS Jabbas sail barge, that is a set that claims its a big build and fulfills that promise. Where as this set claims to be a big build and leaves you disappointed.

Great to go green building green!
13 November 2024

Fantastic detail as per Lego usual with this set.Great fun building it and seeing the glasshouse taking shape. So good to see Lego going green with its packaging as well.. just a word of caution… some of the smaller pieces seem to like getting stuck in the new paper bags… to help find them, always place the white bag on a flat surface once you’ve tipped the pieces out and run your hand over the bag and feel for any missed pieces still in the bag

Kew Garden - Palm House
4 November 2024

I thoroughly enjoy the botanical garden set. It’s very unique and fun to put together with my family. We spent a day at Kew Gardens on vacation this summer. We were fascinated with the palm house, which is 200 years old. It brings so many wonderful memories building it. After building I hope everyone visits the Palm House at Kew to see how accurate this set is designed. Maybe if it was called Palm House at Kew set, it would match expectations. It’s ridiculous someone called it a simple green house, they have no clue the significance of the Palm House.

More than the sum of its parts
4 November 2024

There's no getting around this: there are a lot of repetitive steps in this build. Look at it: each of those little flowers will be hand-assembled, by you, in order to finish the set.But when it is finished, you have a truly stunning centerpiece for your minifigures to visit. The huge variety of plants, and the density at which they are packed into the interior of the building, make a unique build unlike anything else at minifig scale.

Repetitive - missing parts
13 November 2024

Hello, I bought this set recently as a gift to myself. It’s a wonderful looking set but it will take some time to get to the end. I’ve built many sets and the most recent for me were the hogwarts training collectors edition and Rivendell, I throughly enjoyed both builds but I haven’t enjoyed this one as much. I was very confused because after each bag I had some very “important” bricks left over that incident place anywhere. After each bag, I had so many parts left but found that the parts I needed I was actually missing. Luckily, I keep all my parts from previous sets incase I need them. There are lots and lots of flowers to hand build. It’s very intricate work. Currently up to bag 20 as I write this and I slightly wish I didn’t start it. Very detailed and engaging set !

This set is way more detailed and beautiful than I was expecting it to be. Photos online do not fully capture the set’s grandeur. The build experience is also very engaging, fun, with interesting techniques. That said, my only criticism is with the packaging. Considering its high price, Lego should have had done a better job in packaging the translucent pieces; especially since they have a visual importance in the architecture of the built. Scratched and different degrees of damage in some of the translucent pieces are inventible.
