If it wasn't for the LEGO minifigures, it would be challenging for anyone that isn't intimately familiar with this Minecraft update to have any idea what they're looking at. The finished product hardly resembles a finished product, though it does have a fun interactive element to simulate a tiny explosion. So, unless you're both a hardcore fan of both LEGO AND Minecraft, this is a very unusual build.

I loved how it explains step by step every single detail, that there is no way to miss it. Excellent toy to help children pay attention to details to enhance performances. We did it as a family project in which my daughter (4 years old) would help assemble some pieces as well. Totally recommended.

He like how similar it actually work like Minecraft. The building process was not hard for him. He really enjoyed it. As a father that had step on more than one lego, trying not scream at night. Is like depeche mode personal Jesus line "reach out and touch faith"
My son love it a lot. When he found that he can combine this with his other Minecraft Lego sets, he was thrilled 😁.It give me a great chance to see my son's imagination. Hope to buy more sophisticated sets or robotic sets from Toys R Us
As stated in the title, a major con for this set, as it seems to happen with many large-scale generated structures in the game in set form, is that we basically have it reduced to its most basic elements: A blackstone structure on a sea of lava, complete with gilded blackstone, gold blocks, a chest with loot, a piglin archer, and a piglin brute. That's what I expect at this point after the non-flagship status of the Pillager Outpost with just the exterior buildings. (But with 1.19 having added another cage for Allays, perhaps that may change in the near future...)Now that we have the major con out of the way, let's lost the pros of this set:• It easily connects to existing Nether setups with the Warped Forest portion, with what looks like a teaser for a future ... Not only is the use of grill pieces for the whiskers impressive, you can also pull of its slight wobble it has when it walks... perhaps a bit too well! XD• The new chest lid element introduced in LEGO Harry Potter sets works perfectly for LEGO Minecraft. I foresee many a serious fan ordering a bunch to retrofit past sets in their setups. I also love the new tile piece introduced in the Robot Engineer Minifigures being used as bread.• Speaking of minifigures, I love how LEGO chose to portray the Piglin Brute's arm shield, and I can't help but notice a nod to DOOM in the Nether Adventurer's design.• I love the more Minecraft-accurate lava flow slope in this set. Small details matter, and those 2x2 slopes feel a bit weird in retrospect now that I've seen this.• Also, I hope that this is the Large Magma Cube design LEGO settles on. XD This is the third one we've had if you count the BigFig rendition of the Small Magma Cube that was the same size, making it the brick-built mob that's had the most variations. (Though I can't help this nagging in the back of my head that the Blaze has also had three, and all in minifig scale, too.)Overall, a good set for those looking to expand their LEGO Minecraft Nether, though you may want to incorporate it in a larger MOC if you want a proper bastion, which would be ridiculously expensive in minifigure scale - remember how large ZaziNombie's Woodland Mansion MOC was? That is why, when it comes to large-scale structures like the Bastion Remnant, a minimalist reduction of the structure is to be expected in a LEGO set version.
My household is big fans of Lego’s and Minecraft so we was very excited to put together The Nether Bastion set. To start with the box had me al hyped up. By looking at it you can tell exactly what all you can do and build. The pieces are high quality and easy to snap together and take apart. Putting them together was so fun. It is nice having this so we can still play with legos & one of our favorite games Minecraft. This gave us our fix without having to be looking as a screen.
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I think the Lego brand legos are very well made. I particularly love the instruction manuels they add to each box. It makes it so easy for even young children to build the finished project. The lego pieces were separated into numbered packages to make it that much easier too.
I like the set, but it is kind of flat. I am used to hilly sets. I like the way that the bastion is kind of held by the poles which is neat looking. My favourite mini figure is probably the Magma cube because every time you lift its head (its head is the whole body), it breaks into thirds like in the game. I also like the way that the water turned from blue to orange and the fire turning from orange to blue.
