I really enjoy the Lego mechs and in my opinion this one come out near the top as far as design and overall look. First of all the head alone on this one looks way better than most. But the proportions and flow of the rest of the body are top notch as well. But now let’s talk about the price. I just think it has great value and after seeing some more recent mech releases Lego has out, for half the price and for a better mech? No brainer here if you like building mechs.

Its hard to beat the aesthetics of this mech. If youre a fan of mecha model kits as well as Lego this is pretty much the perfect purchase. The cost to part ratio is also fantastic, and the size is impressive when built. That being said good luck finding a worthy opponent for it.

I used to have a lot of the OG ninjago. I sold them all, and when I saw they were making Legacy I decided to buy a few. This set is very sad compared to the first one. This mech is wayyyy too big from the show, and the mini figures were bad. I really liked how there was a ghost mech in the first one, but no such thing in this set. I suppose little kids love this set, especially those who don’t remember the OG, and I probably would have loved it if I was younger.
I was thoroughly impressed with this build. I usually stick pretty strictly to Marvel and Star Wars with the Lego I buy, but I had to have this one. I've always wanted a line of Gundam Lego or something like that, but I've always felt like sets in this vein were lacking, historically. The Exo Force was a start, but they were still lacking (and small). THEN COMES THIS! The build was fun, the size, and ESPECIALLY the articulation of this kit are extra impressive. You can really pose this thing and it balances so well. The Engineer behind this should make a whole line of these. It's incredible what they've done here. It's one of my favorite sets, ever.

Whilst this was a challenging interesting build for my son I question its playability. It looks cool but if you try any leg poses except straight leg it soon falls over due to the weight distribution being too heavy at the top and the lack of lateral Flexi at the knees. The poses indicated in much of the marketing material are simply not acheivable in a play situation. Many of the armour bits and bobs are also quite lightly attached so come off at all but the gentlest grab or tumble. I fear my son has already given up on it and it will just sit on the shelf. Much better value from a playability perspective are the smaller, more posable, more robust 5-6 inch mechs in the marvel/Dc series - he loves them and gets lots of play out of them.
Now for the biggest draw of this set, KNEES. They function great, very good design in them and they have a great amount of friction, so I don’t expect them to give up on me anytime soon. The rest of the articulation is good to, love that the shoulder pads can move up when lifting the arm. Now for the rest of the mech. It has a really nice angular design compared to previous mechs. Love the choice of color with the white, azure and sand blue as well. The skirt pieces being able to move on joints to hide the racket joints was a great idea as well. Now I do have two issues with the set. The spring loaded shooters feel too easy to shoot, with any slight graze firing them. My second complaint is the figure selection. Zane's Titan Mech is what I always dreamed of as a younger kid, and now that I'm older, this LEGO set brings me back to my fascination with NINJAGO. The build is immaculate and I highly recommend buying it. The piece count is an amazing deal for what you pay and you can sometimes find it for cheaper. When I was building the set, I didn't realize how massive the mech was, but now that I have it on display, it is huge. The only complaint I have for this set is the lack of minifigures. I would have loved to see a few other ninja that were a part of the scene in Season 5, like Cole, Lloyd, or Kia. But I think the Golden Jay compensates for that inconvenience. Overall, I love the set and looks incredible on display. Great job LEGO!!!
