All this means it has great play value, because kids will be able to pretend to play "pit stop" and stuff like that. It also comes with a second set of rims for customization purposes. So really, the La Ferrari costs 2,000,000 USD in addition to the Ferraris you'd of already owned. This may seem extreme, but if you think about, a masterpiece like this can't fall into the wrong hands… Even if it's a Ferrari. The set itself comes with several stickers to fill in the gaps of detail that the set designers couldn't fill in themselves. However, I do have one tiny problem with the set: the scale. The model simply isn't wide enough for all the details to be properly seen, not to mention that a luxury super car has 2 seats, not just one. Had it been wider and longer, sure it would've cost a lot more, but it would've been more accurate. However, that said, with the scale they used, they did a pretty good job all things considered. The stickers are a bit hard to apply, at least a few of the smaller ones should of been printed, but I won't let that spoil the set for me.For a better play experience, I do recommend getting the Mclaren P1 and/or the Porsche 918 Spyder, combined they provide their own drivers and different obstacles, and besides, the 3 cars are rivals to each other, it's fitting that they be together so they can duke it out on the track. In summary: The LaFerrari is an excellent model for its scale (though I do think it should be wider), and is a worthy addition to any collector's repertoire, as well as giving kids a great play experience. In general, I look forward to see what Lego does with Speed Champions, and personally hope to see more licenses join the fray.

Once I saw this set I knew I had to have it being a lover of Ferrari. As far as the closeness to the real car I have no idea. The overall build was fairly easy all except the fact that it had lots of stickers and with a broken arm they were hard to put on with a single hand. The car looks really good and the racing light thing adds a lot of play ability to the set. The wheels have a lot of friction so it won't roll easily. It will roll two feet on tile if pushed firmly. It is also hard to turn side to side. The car is very strong through. Over all the look of the set is awesome, but the play part is a big letdown due to the wheels.

Basic, detailed, and fun.

I'm a car guy at heart, and when I found out about the licensed Lego Speed series, and watched some video reviews, I was sold. So far, I have bought all three of the first wave of basic cars, the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and this model. Out of all three, this is my second favorite behind the Porsche. The Porsche has a silhouette closest to the real car, while the Ferrari has some really nice details and lines. If you have a choice between all three, I'd say start with the Porsche, then this model, and finally the McLaren.

Good, even for non-racing fans

I know basically nothing about sports cars or racing cars outside of Disney's Cars and a little bit of Japanese street racing, but when I saw these sets on the shelves I was immediately intrigued. The build looked so tight, and I was interested in the techniques used to make the LaFerrari, especially the sides of the car and the front bar. It turns out that the building techniques aren't necessarily complicated, just smart, and I was surprised at how quickly it all went together. I love the assortment of pieces, and I dig the look of these new wheel wells (at least, I think they are new). What's really fun for me is looking at the real car and seeing how the designers chose the aspects that are most iconic to include in the sets. I'm very keen to try to use these pieces and other Speed Champion sets to build my own racing car.The play value is alright with the inclusion of a starting line signal light, but I imagine it gets better with a second car. I'm usually not a fan of stickers, but with the sheer number of them in this set, I think it was a great decision in order to keep costs down.

Great but not Great

The car was very nice and looked very realistic and the size was very good. The minifigure had an excellent spot in the cockpit. The sides of the car were very nicely built however, the set has some issues;there are too many stickers that are too small and should have been printed on the brick. It was very hard to put the cockpit on the car because it kept falling off. Because of the new rubber for the wheels, there was a lot of friction which made the car hard to roll. The tire spokes were very nice though. Overall, this set was good for display but not for play.

LOVE LEGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
28 December 2015

I went to Palisades Mall for Christmas shopping and was curious about Lego. I am 41 and never thought this hobby was going to be for me. When I walked in the Lego store, I was memorized. The customer service was outstanding. Since I never built a Lego I asked for assistance. The sales rep was very informative and showed me the speed champions line. Right away I fell in love with the Ferrari. It was so easy to built. During the entire process I was so focused. I fell in love with the building I am going back to buy the entire collection. Since I love picture taking, I had to take a set of professional pictures of this set I built for the first time. All my friends and even people I do not know are asking me in Social Media. Lots of potential for these kits.
4 March 2015

I've been excited since I heard about these sets as LEGO cars are my favorite builds. This set and the other cars in the series are fairly easy builds and are enjoyable to piece together. One thing to note is that these kits all have a lot of stickers and younger builders may need help in applying them neatly. The builds are solid and should stand up to a decent level of play, but I suspect adult collectors will be choosing to display these. Overall they look good. One of the really cool features are the changeable wheel styles. Each car comes with two hub types to choose for the wheels. Hopefully this will mean more options should there be further releases in this theme. The only real gripe I have is that the designers stuck to a "six wide" limit which ultimately leaves the cars more boxy looking than their real life counterparts. Had they designed these as "eight wide" they could have been much more accurate, but I imagine at a significantly higher price point. As they are, these are great sets for the money but I would have liked to see the Ferrari truck include two racers. The Porsches are the best looking of the sets in my opinion.

My favorite model from Speed Champion!
1 August 2015

I have four car-only models from the Speed Champion theme, and this is absolutely my favorite set! The build, the play, the looks.. everything is perfect!!! It truly deserves to bear the prancing pony! I also loved that LaFerrari had a slightly different set of spokes than the other three models. I really love every inch of this car and hope Lego releases more models like this!

Nice details, but an issue with railway crossings
13 July 2015

I bought this Ferrari a few months ago and it's a very good detailed set. The only issue is that the bumper is very low. If want to organise a race in your city with this vehicles the car hits the plates of the railway crossings. I suppose to organise race on routes without railway crossings.Otherwise it is a very good detailed vehicle.9/10

Soured me on the Speed Champions Line
8 June 2015

This review is from an AFOL perspective. At first, I was excited for the Speed Champions line, as I'm really into car racing theme products. I was planning to catch 'em all. However, after doing this build I was quite disappointed. First, the fact they use stickers is annoying. I can't stand stickers. And after seeing some reviews, it looks like all the speed champions theme sets contain numerous stickers. Come on, Lego could have at least made the headlights an actual part, and not a sticker, for those of us who choose not to apply stickers. You are forced to apply them in this case, or else the car would not look right. If you apply one wrong by accident, it looks terrible. In conclusion, if you are buying for your kid who is really into Supercars and Lego, then ... MoreThis review is from an AFOL perspective.
