This is a wonderful case for Leica D-Lux 8. It is a good fit and the magnetic catch closes and opens effortlessly. The only reason I did not rate it a 5 is because there is no pocket inside or out for a spare SD card or an extra battery.

Like most Leica products this D Lux 8 case is very well made. The leather is high quality and the padding is good. It just looks rich. However, a couple of details to be aware of. If you use the standard lens cap and a filter (I am using a low profile B+W filter on the lens) the case does not close properly. It's close, but no cigar. All Leica would have had to do was make the cup that covers the lens 1/8th of an inch taller and it would have worked. As a result I have doubts this will work at all with one of the auto lens caps out there be it Leica or JJC. I ordered one, so I'll know soon. Secondly, if you use any kind of wrist strap (even the fabric one included with the D Lux 8) the case cover makes you dangle that out the side, meaning you have to pinch the ... MoreLike most Leica products this D Lux 8 case is very well made.
