I bought this product on the basis that it will send a basic drawing of a room layout to an iPad/mobile. However, trying to set this up is proving challenging. The website is very 'busy' and the instructions are not clear. Efforts are continuing but I will probably end up call the help line for guidance on what I suspect (and hope!) will prove a relatively easy procedure.

Good one - seems accurate and well made. Easy to use and nicely packaged and presented. Quite costly depending on use. Using mine for business so worth spending a bit more getting something good.

Best of the Bunch

There is a huge choice of "Disto" devices nowadays but the Leica ones are the best - and absolutely essential for setting out on a busy building site where a tape measure would be in the way and end up filthy. Quick, accurate, and easy to use.

Easy

Easy to use straight from the box and actually capturing the measurements is very easy compared with some of the cheaper laser measures on the market. It’s not as versatile as its big brother the D2 though - fewer functions, no choice of position measured from and shorter range. No reason to doubt claimed accuracy of +/- 1.5 mm but the biggest source of inaccuracy with a tool like this will be you- ie pointing it on a diagonal rather than straight. The D2 has a few fittings and features which can help to minimise the danger. Nevertheless the D2 also costs quite a bit more and for quick measuring of lengths and areas where accuracy can be good enough this cheaper model from Leica is well up to the task and perfectly good enough.

Excellent with one caveat...

This does exactly what it is designed to accurately, clearly & quickly. The one caveat is that the 'measure' button is stiff enough that unless the device is pressed against something, it can be deflected by the pressure of pressing the button. Not an issue when everything's flat but not so good when taking a measurement from e.g. a post or tree. However, the unit is new and is claimed to be designed for a long life so there's a good chance that it will loosen up as it wears in.If I lost this unit, I'd replace it with the same again, though!

Fantastic pocket tool

Got this recently on Deal of the Day, so 5 stars for value. Coupled with their Sketch app on an iPad, it made short work of getting all the measurements for our bathroom refurb. You could do it with a tape measure and paper then draw an outline in some office application then input the measurements, but the ease of use D110 means that you get all the details you need straight onto the diagram which you can save or email. Also used it for quick area measurements for decorating all on my own, no flapping tape measures at 4+ metres. Have checked it with a tape measure and no observed difference between the two. (Amazing how we seem to trust tape measures but distrust electronics.) I love useful gadgets, and this is one of the best that I have. Great little item

I used this for the first time at the weekend to measure in a really difficult area where it would have taken ages with a normal tape. This was quick and accurate so it definitely gets my vote. I haven't used the app yet but if it is anything like the quality of this item then it will be great.

Great little tool

Small but does everything asked of it. Enclosed pouch is good for protection as I am not totally convinced the build quality is quite strong enough to withstand too many drops onto a concrete floor.One word of caution:It will only connect to a Bluetooth phone or tablet that has the 4.0 or higher Bluetooth stack and my Nexus 10 hasn't - so I cannot use the Sketch app, which was one of the reasons I chose this Leica unit - my bad, I should have checked beforehand!

Leica DISTO D110 60m Laser Distance Measurer Rangefinder

For a quick length check internally it is an excellent tool due its extremely compact size. It does lack the stabilisation of higher end distos but for small works requiring 5-10mm (due to shaky hands) accuracy it is a perfect tool replacing the tape measure. Because of its size, the screen readout is quite small and may not be to everyones liking.

great value quality laser meas

I bought the D110 to replace a 15 year old Disto Classic. It's more compact - fits in your shirt pocket, clear to use and we'll made. Having downloaded the Sketch up app, it took less than a minute to set up with my Android phone, and taking survey notes is simplicity itself. While the measure only takes linear dims and area, it is quick and simple to use. Perfectly accurate and a great replacement. If you want a simple, quick clear way of taking survey dims this is it. I can measure up and sketch a room in less than 2 minutes, and more importantly can check i have all the dims I need easily. Great product, good price. Highly recommended.
