Lelit Victoria PL91T Coffee Machine

Victoria is the family of espresso machines that is ideal for those who desire the best aesthetics and technology in a compact space. Despite its reduced dimensions, it features a commercial group of 58 mm. The larger boiler capacity and power allow for brewing many consecutive espressos while maintaining the right temperature and always providing enough steam for cappuccinos, just like in bars. Like all models in the VIP line, the Victoria is equipped with Lelit’s exclusive electronic control system LCC. The elegant appearance and user-friendliness are undeniable aspects of this line with a royal look.

Beats my expectations

Did quite a bit of research after my old Krups lost its boiler seal. After quite a bit of comparing, I found this one to be what I would purchase. Industry standard 58mm portafilter, good steam control and an excellent finish. Took me three pulls with adjustments to my grinder to get a great cup! Bought a bottomless portafilter in order to assist in getting it right. Bottomless has a great capacity. I have absolutely no regrets about with my purchase. It was a couple of more bucks than I initially planned on spending, but the features fully justified the extra expenditure.

Expected a new product, received a refurbished one.

Not sure what to say here. The machine that was delivered to me was obviously returned by someone else.It came with water inside (which according to the documentation should not be the case), the high heat protection had been triggered by someone, and the machine has a little dent in the outside metal.I feel like I've been sold a poorly refurbished product. This should be mentioned in the product description. However, the machine works fine and produces excellent coffee. I know now that it is easy to repair. At his price, it is a fantastic machine. That said, I would perhaps advise people to buy such a machine from an explicit coffee machine retailer, and not Galaxus. That would be my modus operandi next time.

Great little machine. No issues so far.

I wanted something to upgrade from a failed Bambino Plus and after some looking settled on the Victoria. I don't really make milk drinks, so the single main "weakness" of being single boiler doesn't bother me. I got a wifi controllable outlet so I can heat it up from up in my office, but warm up isn't that long anyways. The porta-filter goes in kind of hard, but it does seal and work OK so long as I don't over-fill with coffee, so not really an issue. I'd recommend the Victoria for someone wanted to stay at or below $1000 and get a proper Italian machine that you can service if it ever fails (vs breville which isn't really made to be repaired).

Great machine for someone new to home espresso
20 January 2021

I did a ton of research around the web and continuously settled on this or that machine based on reading reviews and specs. On a whim, I set up a call with Clive to discuss home espresso. I spoke with August, who provided a ton of great tips about espresso machines and grinders. He didn't push in any way but provided a really great endorsement of this machine as a starter for someone who wanted great espresso at home with some options to tinker. After reading more, I decided to try it out with the Victoria.I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I mostly drink espresso and americanos, with the occasional milk-based drink. Having the timer, PID, and pressure gauge make the Victoria a great machine to track progress on. As with anything new, there are some growing pains, but I've really enjoyed the shots I get from this machine. It has made brewing coffee more interesting and fun, which is what I was hoping for when I decided to purchase a home espresso machine. If you're just starting out, I think this is a great place to begin and I'd strongly recommend buying from Clive. They've continued to answer my questions and give pointers where needed since I bought the machine.

Great machine once it's up and running
25 June 2022

Just about two months in with this machine, and the obvious is that this machine is built like a tank. I 100% support Marc's review below. The initial start-up is startling when you trip the safety shut off - however happy that this machine has such a feature. I just wish it was highlighted more during the start-up instructions. The vibration is annoying as well - I fixed it with some inconspicuous felt strips under the drip tray to minimize it.Espresso? It makes a heck of a drink. I look forward to it every morning now that it is up and running. I enjoy more espresso/americano versus milk-based drinks. With that said, there is a bit of a lag when you decide to steam milk and return to shot temperature (if that is important to you). The heat-up time is great, and the PID is easy to navigate for experimentation. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this machine (minus the initial start-up), but the folks at Clive were great to work with to get me up and running.

I have to say I’ve
14 February 2022

I have to say I’ve been terribly disappointed using this machine…. My concerns started right away when putting the basket into the portafilter—- it doesn’t fit smoothly and I literally have made my fingers bloody trying to get it out to clean it. In addition to this the extraction is bizarrely inconsistent—- sometimes the espresso barely drops out of one side of the portafilter even though I am consistent about the grind and quantity. At first I thought it was me so I struggled on and now I can’t return it. But now I’m 100% sure it’s not me because I have tried everything. So sad because this was my big birthday present this year and it has turned my favorite part of the day into a source of frustration and disappointment.

It simply works

I bought this machine from Clive a few months ago and now have enough experience with it that I might be able to say a few useful things. The bottom line is that if you pair the Victoria with a decent grinder, a scale to measure dose and liquid, and a leveler, you can produce very consistent espresso. I have been able to dial in “recipes” for each of 3 very different coffees relatively quickly. That said, there are few things you might want to consider before writing that $1100 check.• I only make one espresso or Cappuccino at a time. You could easily make multiple espresso shots in a row but if you are cycling back and forth between brewing and steaming multiple times, you might get a bit impatient since, although the warmup from brew to steam is fast, the ... MoreI bought this machine from Clive a few months ago and now have enough experience with it that I might be able to say a few useful things. The bottom line is that if you pair the Victoria with a decent grinder, a scale to measure dose and liquid, and a leveler, you can produce very consistent espresso. You could easily make multiple espresso shots in a row but if you are cycling back and forth between brewing and steaming multiple times, you might get a bit impatient since, although the warmup from brew to steam is fast, the cooldown from steam to brew takes a while.• The portafilter basket has a capacity of 17 gm. If you want a larger dose, you will need to buy a bottomless portafilter and a larger basket.• The PID temperature controller seems to work well but there is no feedback. Unlike aftermarket PID controllers which show the actual temperature during brewing and steaming, the Lelit controller only displays the set temperature.• You cannot determine the amount of water in the reservoir without opening the top of the machine and removing the reservoir. In my case, this means pulling the machine out from under an overhead kitchen cabinet.• While the Victoria functions well and looks fine on your countertop, the build quality is more reminiscent of a mid-level Chevy than a BMW or Audi. The portafilter and saturated brew head are high quality but the sheet metal is very light gauge (the machine weighs 10 lbs less than the comparable-sized ECM Casa) and the pump is not well isolated from the frame. As a result, the brew cycle is quite noisy. In particular, the grill on the drip tray rattles loudly. This is easily fixed with a few dabs of RTV on the grill but I wish Lelit had added a few more kilos of metal and better vibration isolation. Again, the Victoria will make consistent espresso, but you will not get the sensory feedback you would get from a $3K+ Olympia Cremina. My bottom line: I have no regrets. I had limited counter space and budget and I wanted a PID. My choices came down to a Giggia Classic Pro, Rancilio Sylvia or ECM Casa, each with an aftermarket PID, or the Victoria. Adding a PID would probably have voided my warranty so in the end the Clive 3 year warranty carried the day.

Makes great espresso with a few minor issues
24 June 2022

The biggest issue relates to the initial setup. If water does not start to flow within the first 10 seconds after turning the pump on, then immediately turn the machine off and go find the instructions for priming the pump. If you keep trying without priming, the dry boiler will eventually overheat and trip the safety shutoff requiring a partial disassembly to reset. The instructions for doing all this are in Clive's troubleshooting section but should really be in the getting started guide as there is nothing worse than a brand new espresso machine that won't even turn on.Now that everything is working, two other things make it less than perfect.1. There is no spout to pour directly in the top and removing the reservoir requires a lot of open space--it can't be done on a counter with cabinets above.

Single boiler version of the Lelit Elizabeth. The best option if you don't whip milk at parties.
4 March 2023

It's perfect. High group, PID control, professional size portafilter in 58 mm, OPV valve set from the factory, automatic water discharge into the tray after steam whipping, boiler for 300 ml and timer. The order came faster than I expected and was perfectly packaged. Thank you so much for the amazing espresso machine!

Upon initial receipt of this
3 September 2022

Upon initial receipt of this machine and start up, the machine would not start up properly. It would trigger the safety switch turning off the power which I had to reset. Clive support said I needed to prime the pump and sent me instructions. If priming the pump is required, neither Clive nor Lelit provide the tools. I had to go out and buy a Syringe. Also, to reset the machine you have to remove the top cover. The cover does not go back easily. The rubber seal comes off and I could not get it back on. The Priming didn't work. I ended up returning the machine for a replacement. Again, exact same thing happened. I returned the 2nd machine for the Profitec Pro 300. I love this machine. Clive Support was outstanding throughout this frustrating process. 5 stars for support.
