Boring corporate issue PC

The trackpad feels a bit cheap compared with other computers in this price range - especially the clunky clicking action. It's also very narrow and not very tall due to the 3 over-sized buttons on top which are probably only useful for people who use the trackpoint (anyone?). A larger trackpad would be a huge upgrade on this computer. Keyboard is solid and easy to type on.Not very confident in this device after the first couple of weeks. The boot process is extremely slow at the best of times and often seems to power cycle several times showing the BIOS splash screen and powering the fan on and off repeatedly as if doing a BIOS update except that it happens several times a week. Sometimes takes up to 10 minutes to get to the login screen in Windows to the point where I'm hesitant to shutdown or reboot the computer if I think I might need it again in the next 20 minutesThere are some nice features like the ability to swap Ctrl + Fn buttons, limit battery charging for situations when it's left plugged in most of the time.

I worked in state government for 20 years and we were all assigned Lenovo think pads. Over the years, this has been the best and most user-friendly laptop I have used. Because of that history, when purchasing a local business and realizing that the laptops were over 10 years old, I knew I needed to get a new laptop as much of my work is report writing, research, emails and skype meetings. I went to the Lenovo site and realized that the cost was higher than I expected. Despite this, large amounts of research led me back to the Lenovo site where I was torn between this machine and the carbon machine, both of which were on sale. I love the added feature of the fingerprint ID as my work is confidential and this is always a concern when carrying around equipment from work to home. It's fast, responsive with a clear picture and I have not gotten headaches despite toiling for hours. It's small but a powerhouse. I have not used the camera yet, so cannot speak to that, but I have no doubt it will be great. I am a huge fan of Lenovo in general and their laptops cannot be beat. The longevity of the product and ease of use makes Lenovo my go to brand and is well worth the investment. If you get lucky enough to get one on sale as I did, run, don't walk to the checkout button. Go for it.

The Ryzen processor lineup is fast, and when coupled with plenty of memory (16GB+) it takes a lot to bog this down. Rounding out the hardware with high-volume SSD storage (500GB+) and integrated WiFi 6 + Bluetooth 5 (and optional LTE), this computer makes an excellent mobile workstation.Connectors -- earlier iterations in the ThinkPad series had plastic power connectors, which were prone to break over time. (I replaced the internal power board on an E-series earlier this week.) I'm a big fan of the switch to USB-C for power delivery, and there's a 2nd USB-C port "hidden" inside the docking port. With 3x USB-3 ports, an HDMI output, and miniSD slot, this has more than enough to make the connections I need.Webcam, mic, speakers -- the camera is good; the video stream is not grainy or blocky, and works excellently for video calls (hello WFH!) The mic clearly picks up voice/audio from me sitting in front of/near the laptop.Price -- especially if purchased at a discount (as Lenovo frequently offers 40+% discount off listed web price), these laptops are competitive with similar offerings from e.g. HP, Dell, ASUS, etc.

I knew it was time to replace my trusty old Lenovo W530 when Win 11 was announced with the end of support for Win 10. I had upgraded the RAM and the SSD as time went on, but the chip wasn't up to it. I like Lenovo for its durability, adaptability and support.I chose the L15 because I could add RAM and a bigger hard drive as needed. Soldered RAM is, to me, planned obsolescence. Rather than trick out the computer with max capacity, I'll just add as needed. I love the solid build quality and keyboard, with one exception. The keyboard I have is not backlit and I didn't see that as an option. I definitely would have bought it. Delivery and setup was not a problem and support for migration made it easier than I feared.Overall, this is a workhorse machine that can be upgraded for a long time. It is solid value if you go with best available chips for futureproofing. I bought it on sale from Lenovo and also got cashback from an app, so it really became a value decision that was a no-brainer.

The display is very colorful and clear. The camera was great and looked good for my first video calls with Zoom and Google meets. People could hear me well on the call. I like the mat finish, you will always see fingerprints, but they do not look like grease spots.Only dislike is the speakers are not very loud. They sounds clear but volume could be better. Great with 2 caveats that drive it down to 4 stars
5 December 2022

I've been using Thinkpads since it was an IBM product. By far they excel, and yes, I've tried some others and always come back. This purchase makes my 3rd that I currently own and use in different venues, in this case, for my home in Mexico. The reason I'm giving it just a 4 star review is that it disappointed me in two respects: 1. I clicked on the highest quality everything as I wound through my options. I was not given an option on the camera and assumed it would work, as all my other Thinkpads have, with Microsoft's Hello Face to give me entrance into the computer. As it turns out, the camera is not an infrared camera, and therefore does not work with Hello Face. The other sign in option, fingerprint uses the power button. It is horrible! In no way should this have been the fingerprint tool as it works seldom. Just getting a fingerprint to record is almost impossible. Other than that, it's a Thinkpad through and through, and I'm happy with it. Given it's a second PC to use in another home less often, I won't demand that it be replaced, but no 5 stars this time Lenovo

Perfectly Adequate Workstation Laptop
8 March 2022

I received this T14 as my company-issued laptop. Overall, it is a perfect example of work device adequacy. It's weight and profile -- while not slim and feathery -- combine for good portability, and it feels relatively durable. The fingerprint reader is convenient when it isn't being overly finicky. For a minimalist like me, the bland overall aesthetic is just fine. The Intel Core i5 makes it snappy, the camera is more than serviceable, and the monitor is sufficient in size and performance (significant bezels notwithstanding). While it's kind of nice to have a built-in ethernet port, I would have preferred shifting at least one of the other USB (A and C) ports or the HDMI port over to its place, as they are all crammed somewhat troublesomely close together along ... MoreI received this T14 as my company-issued laptop. This is what I would generally prefer for my home setup with the way I have things arranged -- even undocked, I would like to be able to easily continue to use the Logitech peripherals at my option. The situation appears to correct itself if I plug the Unifying Receiver dongle into the the dock itself. I have not yet diagnosed if this is a Logitech, laptop, or dock issue, specifically, but it's a minor if persistent inconvenience. In total, the T14 has been a mostly flawless performer with adequate specs -- perfectly "forgettable" in all aspects, which is exactly what I want out of a work device.

Much more than the more expensive X1 series (which I own 3 different versions too). One notable area where the L14 could be improved in the bezel which is quite thick. The entire laptop could either be made smaller or the screen enlarge without making the laptop bigger. There is about an extra inch, so this is not insignificant.

The keyboard has terrific touch - which is the primary reason I choose Lenovo over other brands. The touchpad is responsive, unlike my X1 Yoga. The Red Ball

This time it was a Lenova and I had my red ball back! I have been using them exclusively for about 25 years now. Thinkpads are durable, reliable and powerful. I never had to even have them serviced. I don’t know why I ever bought anything else but all through my professional years the Lenova Thinpads have been with me through it all and although my hands are a bit more shaky, the red ball is still king.
