Close your eyes. Think “jeans.” Now open. They were 501 Originals, right? With a classic straight leg and iconic styling, they’re literally the blueprint for every pair of modern jeans in existence—burned into the world’s collective cortex ever since Levi Strauss introduced them in 1873. To this day they’ve never gone out of style. And they never will. Made for men, these timeless jeans are a wardrobe staple that will remain a classic for years to come.

501 Original Fit Men's Jeans - Dark Stonewash - 00501-0194 34 x 32

Me:170 lbs; 6'-1"30/34; light stone washQuality - Good, I'm happy with the weight and design of this jean. The material and cut give this options to be dressed up, dressed down, or field ready for light to medium work. The color is a good light jean, not overly washed or worn looking, making it good for every day events.Size - The jeans are longer than others at the same length, I imagine this accounts for sitting higher on the waist. The waist is a bit large for a higher rise jean, causing them to sit at mid. The crotch build is a slight bit short (1/4" - 1/2") but not uncomfortable.

Of course the jeans are classic Levi's he's worn for 50 years. It's not Macy's fault I live in a rural area, struggling with health issues temporarily. I paid to have these delivered and the order came, just dandy. I threw things into to the washer, put them in the dryer, wait, no. Are you kidding me? An anti-theft device full of ink just went through the washing machine with $300 worth of clothes in it? Thank you, Jesus, it didn't break. What if I hadn't noticed this "friday afternoon" goof and put it in the dryer? Gah!So, should I wait on hold forever because the chatbot doesn't work, even in the app? Yeah, no. I guess I will drive an hour to the nearest Macy's and ask a clerk to remove it. Epic fail. This firefighter is not so lucky to use excuses for missed ... MoreOf course the jeans are classic Levi's he's worn for 50 years. It's not Macy's fault I live in a rural area, struggling with health issues temporarily. Sad for a struggling company and all I can do is review it. Get your act together. I can't live without the PARADE!!And terribly amateur software development. Just spend $ on quality developers!

Levi’s Original Medium Indigo jeans, and I’m thoroughly impressed with their quality and fit. The classic design pairs perfectly with almost anything, giving a timeless, versatile look. The medium indigo wash is perfect—neither too dark nor too light—and adds a casual yet polished vibe. The denim feels sturdy but comfortable, and it holds its shape well after multiple wears. Overall, these jeans are a great balance of style, durability, and comfort. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable pair of jeans!”

Really good pants. Fabric in the sweet spot between tough and cozy to the touch. The color on these is a very good dark gray without really getting into that class of colors you'd call "charcoal." Lovely. But Levi's really should just ditch this whole button-fly thing. It's weird. I think pretty much everyone prefers zippers. At a minimum, they should basically lead with the fact that these pants do not have a zipper because I think the average shopper would never realize that these and most casual shoppers are probably surprised these don't have a zipper. (I certainly didn't when I bought my first pair of 501 Originals and just assumed "button fly" in the listing meant there was a button at the top and not a snap.) There's probably some niche shopper who prefers the 97-button fly, but I haven't met them and I'd be cool with Levi's just confining listings of jeans like these to some section of the site where you'd have to be looking for them to find them instead of how they are now where people probably just stumble across them and even buy them without recognizing that they're kinda gimmicky by today's standards.
Macy's is great! My concern is the fabric used currently for Levis jeans isn't as durable as it used to be. I have always prized Levis for their durability but they have been moving away from that in recent years. Their construction and fit remain good but the fabric is of lower quality that is vulnerable to splitting....I have three pairs that have opened up in the fabric, not along the seams (nor between the thighs), that I have never experienced before - along the outer hip, or in the crotch - and the fit for me is reasonable loose...not tight at all. The lighter weight denim is all I can distinguish from earlier versions.
Saw these were on sale on Amazon, so I ordered the Dark Stonewash (00501-0115). Promptly received Dark Wash (00501-3402). Ordered a replacement, and made a trip to Whole Foods singularly to make the return. Replacement pants arrived today. Sticker on the plastic bag indicated they were the correct jeans (501-0115), but the pants inside were in fact Light Stonewash (00501-0134). Because they've failed twice on the same item, Amazon won't let me do a replacement, so my only option is to get a refund and then make a special trip to UPS to return the second incorrect pair of jeans. The kicker is that now returning to Amazon, the Dark Stonewash is no longer available in my size, and if I want to opt for Medium Stonewash instead, the price has gone up. Come here to the Levi's site instead, and not only are the pants at full, but Levi's customer service says they can't do anything about THEIR Amazon store. Sadly, I'm old enough to remember when Levi was a good brand/company.
Love these jeans. I own 5 pairs. Love the button fly. Easily the most iconic and timeless jeans of all time. My one request- Move the back pockets higher! This is a no-brainer. Other competing brands have done this and become insanely popular just because of the way the jeans fit on your butt. Higher pockets higher make the pants fit your butt better. Low pockets make your butt look non-existent. Bring those pockets up 2 inches and you'll sell out.
Both my husband and I have been wearing 501's since the 1960's and while the cost has skyrocketed on these jeans, the quality has dropped off precipitously and significantly. The material is more stretchy and thinner than before. Now when you first wash them the legs can bunch up like spandex and iit can be difficult to get those wrinkles out of the calves of the jean leg. So hang to dry the first five or so washesThe material, once 100 percent cotton is now a blend of 99% cotton and 1 precent lyrcra.Due to the way these pants bunch up new when pulled from the drier in the first few washings I find their 99-1% claim dubious. As far as wear goes, when paying premium money for premium jeans, it is not unreasonable to expect that your "original" 501's would ... MoreBoth my husband and I have been wearing 501's since the 1960's and while the cost has skyrocketed on these jeans, the quality has dropped off precipitously and significantly. These 501's wear out quickly, extremely prone to easy tearing. After 60 yrs we'll pay, Levi's bring back the quality.
For $92 I would expect far greater quality and service than what I received. I have been wearing Levi's for the past 40+ years. It used to be that they were made in America, were plentiful in supply and cost a reasonable amount of money. Now they are made in countries all over the world. If I were to be able to find three pairs of jeans that were actually my size (average) each one would be made in a different country and would fit entirely differently. I have found up to a 2" discrepancy in three different pairs of jeans at the same store and marked the same size. This current pair that I bought were made in Egypt. Thankfully that's a country that makes the ones that fit me. However the front pockets are so tight that I can barely squeeze my hand in. If I do I will make sure that I send them the same way that they came to me: By the second slowest service o the planet: DHL/USPS. (China Post is #1). From time of order it took 10 days to get to me. Now maybe Jeff Bezos has me spoiled, but I swear almost a week and a half??? And $92 ??? I may have to switch to Wranglers.
I bought 3 pair of Levis 505 for my husband, in varying washes. As in the past, all of them smell terrible, a very strong chemical smell. I suspect this comes from manufacturing/shipping and is not the fault of Macy's.I contacted Levi's who responded that the tight plastic they are wrapped in can cause an odor (more like intensifies the odor that is already in the fabric), or the "warehouse conditions".The 3 new pair hung on our country clothes line for 48+ hours and still smelled. They soaked overnight in the washer with vinegar added to the water, followed by washing in regular detergent and double rinse and still smelled. They are back on the clothes line blowing in the breeze. It's disappointing to say the least.
