Some ppl complained that it's not 144Hz and some ppl said you can adjust it by change setting. And yes you can change it to 144 by going to advanced setting under resolution. However, it does not stay at 144Hz. So, you have to adjust to 144Hz every time you turn it off and turn it back on. The other thing about this monitor is that it changes the position of my Line chats every time I wake my computer up from sleeping/screen saver mode. This only happens when resolution is 1920 x 1080 and does not happen when resolution is 1600 x 900. Based on these 2 problems, I'll give it a 3 star; I have no other complaints and it's working great. No color distortion, able to adjust angel, and I especially like the fact that it has 2 HDMI ports so I don't need to buy a splitter.

A very good picture. I don't like how they located a lot of adjustment buttons underneath the screen. I can't read what they are for. I don't like how the on/off switch is underneath the screen where I can't see it and scratchy to the touch (hard on my fingers). My last one had the spot in the front and you didn't even have to push it, just glide your finger over it. I really miss that. I don't like how the "legs" for the screen go outward in angles. My last one had straight left/right legs and I could put things flat underneath it. This one has things underneath it sloping and falling off all the time. Some people said the white screens were too bright. They were for me too, until I adjusted it (see underneath of the screen in front, by where you turn on/off).

This has the correct size refresh rates, colors, hook ups, and pleasure to my eyes. Its got a small bezel and adjustment toggle on the bottom. All around a great monitor to game and do office work with. The set up I have is stacking monitors, yes one above another. My chair has me raised to watch the items with very little neck or eye strange. $150 at Walmart, on Amazon it was 249 might of been their mistake that day and Micro Center had them stacked out for 199. You can't go wrong with this unit and it looks like a real monitor not the plastic toys that other vendors are selling to cut cost.In conclusion, FED EX grade H , WALMART grade H , LG grade H .Grade H was a grade colleges came out with in the 80's higher then an A . To show outstanding effort and getting what needed to be done to get the job done. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can be kind of annoying to make it look good
10 December 2020

It's been kind of a pain getting it to look as good as my first monitor. The color scheme just seems to be really ugly in one area, no matter how much I mess with the settings. When there's a fade of colors (for example, gray at the top that fades to black at the bottom), it doesn't look smooth at all - there are clear, visible bars you can see in the fade, if that makes sense. I've attached a photo to show what I'm talking about.I'm also having trouble with the color black - there's a lot of green there. I've been messing around with settings for quite a while, both in the PC and the monitors own built in settings. It's just been an annoyance.Other than that, it's an alright monitor.

Great monitor for the price
6 May 2021

There are several things I like about this monitor.1. Great Price2. Very rich and vibrant colors3. Easy to set up. Just a couple screws for the stand or 4 screws for the VESA mount. Then just plug and play4. Joystick setting adjustment (some gaming monitors at a higher price don't have this, and it is a must for easily changing settings)Things I dislike1. The power cable is a large brick style plug and means that you must have room on your power strip or outlet or you may need to buy an extension cord in order to plug it in with other devices.2. Requires some color setting changes to get the color to desirable settings.3. Comes with an HDMI cable rather than a DisplayPort cable, which limits you to a maximum of 120hzFor those who are having issues with ... MoreThere are several things I like about this monitor.1. Requires some color setting changes to get the color to desirable settings.3. Comes with an HDMI cable rather than a DisplayPort cable, which limits you to a maximum of 120hzFor those who are having issues with the 144hz, there are a few reasons this might be happening.1. You are using HDMI instead of DisplayPort. This monitor uses HDMI 2.0 which can only output at 120hz2. You have not set your computer or device settings to 144 or 120hz. Check your settings and you should be able to change the refresh rate.3. Your device does not support the 144hz refresh rate. Check your owners manual or use Google to ensure that your device is compatible. If you try these and still don't have 144hz then there may be an issue with the monitor.Overall a great monitor. I got mine nearly a month ago and after messing with the color settings (lookup optimal color settings for the monitor online. A lot of people share their monitor settings and just mess around with them until you find one that you like), and switching to DisplayPort for the higher refresh rate, I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a cheaper monitor with a high refresh rate, dual HDMI, DisplayPort, V-Sync compatible, joystick setting adjustment, and a fairly good build quality.

Great monitor, but you have to adjust it first.
1 February 2021

Trust me I understand the trepidation you probably feel about buying anything that categorizes itself as a "budget" option. But let me put your reluctance to rest my thrifty friend. This monitor DOESN'T suck, it's actually quite good.I'm using this monitor as my primary screen, instead of my Asus TUF laptop's 60Hz screen. The switch to 144Hz is a significant jump, I must say, and there is no going back.Is this the best monitor money can buy? No. Is this the best monitor at this price point? I think so. THE PICTURE IS TERRIBLE OUT OF THE BOX. But once you adjust it to your liking, it really looks amazing. Oh yeah, and sometimes the monitor drops to 60Hz but just go to the settings to switch it back.

Near Perfect Budget Gaming
15 October 2020

I needed a dual-purpose monitor for gaming and work but didn't want to spend a small fortune. I didn't need 4k but did want a high-performance monitor. Text needed to be crystal clear too as I use this for work 8 hours a day. I also wanted an audio out port for my headphones. I wanted it quickly as my previous main monitor died. Lastly, I have a standing desk setup so smaller/lighter was a necessity too.My initial choice was... not this monitor. I originally purchased a 28 inch Spectre IPS screen with all the same basic stats (e.g. refresh). In addition to being slightly more expensive it failed out-of-the-box and felt very flimsy. I decided my next try would be a quality brand. I decided my next try would be a quality brand. After searching, I saw this monitor was highly rated, from a quality company, and less expensive (albeit w/out the IPS).I've had this monitor for a week--and used it for 8 hours a day--and its been excellent. Text is crystal clear and my Macbook Pro takes advantage of the high refresh rate. I've been gaming with Stadia and PS4 and both are crystal clear, with no ghosting, or issues (of note, neither Stadia's Chromecast Ultra or PS4 use the full range of functionality) . My headphones sound great too.Functionally, this is easy to use. A small joystick is used to power it on, switch inputs, and manipulate settings. The pre-sets have been good enough for me but there is a fair degree of fine control (all easy to use).Build quality is excellent. A metal stand firmly plants the monitor. It has a limited range of motion, but its been adequate. This monitor isn't flimsy in the least. It does have a bezel, but its small. The display has been consistently excellent. On Zoom calls, the display is crisp. I stare at this monitor for hours with no ill effects. Its a really solid option especially for the price. For those of you with an expensive main monitor this would be an *excellent* second monitor. If you are like me, looking for quality at a low price, this is it. The monitor is inexpensive, NOT cheap, and well worth it.Oh... Walmart did a great job shipping this. It was in a container box with adequate padding. The LG box was likewise wll designed to protect the product. I do wonder, given how fragile the Sceptre was, if it got damaged in shipping. Amazon didn't bother to ship w/in an outer box. I get the environmental concerns but some items just need more care.Get this monitor! Understand its budget--again, not cheap!--and very competive with other non 4K options.

Nice when new
24 April 2022

Ordered and received the same day from the store. Box looked like it had been opened. Took the monitor out and noticed the wires were not packed nice and were taped together. Monitor was laying in box with no styrofoam. Took out monitor and saw fingerprints and a scratch across the screen. It was obvious this was a return that they were trying to resell me. Had to take it back to the store and exchange for a new one. Opened the new box when I got home and everything was well packaged. Hooked up the monitor and the picture quality is great. I use it for my PS5 and Switch. Would recommend, just make sure they don’t send you a returned one.

Overall Decent
7 January 2022

I wanted a cheap but decent quality monitor for my second monitor for my laptop. I like this monitor for the price, and it comes with most functions that I need in a basic monitor.A few things I noticed:1 - it wobbles slightly even if the screws are tightened. I noticed because I have a lightweight desk2 - no USB ports. I thought it was pretty standard today to have USB ports on the monitors. So I didn't even checkOverall I like this monitor as my backup monitor.

This is a big issue
26 March 2022

I bought one of these monitors a while back and it has worked amazingly, just recently i bought two more so all of my monitors match. The two new monitors have an issue, there seems to be a bit of ghosting when movement is displayed on screen, this effect is even worse when on lower refresh rates after using an hdmi cable to see if it is the problem the ghosting persisted. Another thing i would like to note is that the menus for both new monitors have options when under the same conditions/settings as my older monitor (same exact model) options would be left out, the colors are slightly different when under the same conditions as well. I tried a driver update for all of my monitors but that did nothing.
