A great jack of all trades.

It also has no dark color shift with vertical head position. After calibration, colors are just way better than my previous VA, and better than older IPS monitors I have owned. Also IPS glow in the corners is very minimal compared to most IPS displays I own.Despite both having the same PPI, text is arguably crisper and clearer. I'm going to assume that's due to how windows font scaling plays out with the resolution, but it's pretty easy on the eyes. Also, the anti-glare coating does not give a dirty screen effect like my other anti-glare panels (both VA and IPS).HDR on the desktop is still not something I would use, but way better than my last monitor. It makes the SDR content just seem dimmer instead of dimmer and with colors all messed up. It's still a no from me.Also, the ghosting is minimal. Within just a day of using this, I'm baffled how I put up with the VA ghosting for the last couple of years. While the extra horizontal resolution is a small help with spreadsheets and such, combined with the flatter curve, it really improves immersion from a 34 ultrawide. The vertical resolution bump is very noticeable in some apps. Email probably being the biggest winner. The vesa mount is just there. No drama of removing aesthetic bits to get stuff mounted and having to keep track of them if you want to put it back on its stand. Then there are the things that might be great or might be awful because they are opinion things. For me I hate the white monitor trend, but it's no big deal as mine faces a wall. I don't have to look at it and neither does anyone else. I REALLY like that the connectors are just there on the back of the display. It works well with my monitor arm and it is super easy hooking things up compared to monitors that have them recessed on the bottom.

Both my work laptop and personal laptop are not fancy by any means and they both are able to output a full 5120 x 1440. I also no longer need to use my work-supplied laptop dock as the monitor will charge my laptop and also allowed me to plug in my keyboard and mouse to the monitor. I also appreciate using this monitor with Windows 11 as it's easy to drag a window to the top of the screen and have it take up half, 1/3, 1/4 and a couple other configurations. The speakers for the monitor are also very impressive and loud. As far as I've figured out so far though, my computer can't change the volume of the monitor itself so I set the monitors speakers to the highest volume and then my computers speakers to around 20% for a reasonable volume level for normal use.Overall, this monitor has been great for productivity at work, casual video watching, browsing with multiple tabs or programs, and also gaming. With this monitor you'll wonder how you ever survived with just 1 or 2 normal monitors side by side and you'll never go back.

Once the power is removed the computers lock and then you have to unlock them (by opening the lid), logging in and then the external source works again. Doing this 3 or 4 times in a day for each monitor has made us realise we'll not buy from LG next time. It's a real shame about these 49" monitors - we're not seeing this issue with a bunch of the 40" versions, but this model in particular is a massive pain to use with USB-C.

I received my monitor 2 weeks ago and have been absolutely loving it. Upon opening up the box everything was packaged very nicely and easy to access. After removing the monitor the assembly of the stand was extremely easy and connecting to my laptop was very simple with just 1 usbc cable. The monitor also provides power to the laptop via the usbc any time the display is on which allows 1 extra port on the laptop for accessories. Once I had everything put together I was surprised with how much adjustment the stand offered. Connecting to my laptop was super simple and just required adjusting the resolution to fit the monitor. Once I was setup the clarity of the screen is unlike anything I have used before. My previous setup had a 27 inch monitor and my laptop screen beneath it and the sheer size of this monitor has increased my efficiency exponentially. I comfortably fit all 4 of the applications I regularly monitor along with a full sized browser window in the center of the display. Every form of media I have consumed has been crystal clear and the colors are excellent. I was also surprised with how good the built in speakers are. Great for listening to music while working. The controls for monitor settings (volume, brightness, etc) are very intuitive. Overall I have been extremely pleased with this monitor and would recommend it to anybody who is looking to improve efficiency while working or even just for personal use

Don't get it if you dont have a decent graphics card(basically no onboard graphics)Keep in mind when using this on a laptop(windows) itll be janky, compared to my gaming PC, my work laptop(MSI creator 15) resolution is weird but that is because it is not display port. Please keep this in mind when you factor that in. I dont care much for resolution at work just want more space on 1 screen.Even though I marked it has a 4/5 thats as a customer... this thing is EXPENSIVEEE, I got it at a discount if the discount price was the actual product price, this monitor would be 5/5 and a dominator in ultrawide 1440p monitor market.Personally 5/5, this monitor has met all the expectations I've been looking for in the past couple months of my monitor hunt

I still have extra room to tile other programs, my calculator or note pad.My favorite way to arrange my screen when I use it outside of work is to have the screen split into thirds, I usually have a streaming service going on one, Facebook on the second and shopping on the third window. The 60Hz Frequency is far more than adequate, the resolution comes in at 3440 x 1440 and it has inputs/outputs for everything you need to do.I was able to free up a USB port and ditch my add-on speakers, the LG Curved UltraWide™ 34'' QHD IPS Display Monitor has Maxx Audio sounds very crisp and clear when working. It also provides top-notch audio to match the visual experience.I do recommend to have a helping hand when unboxing and inserting the stand, it was easy but awkward to hold because of this amazing wide screens size. I am eventually going to mount it, but it comes with a nice stand. It moves up and down easily, which is perfect since I am 4’11” and it also tilts for comfort. The LG Curved UltraWide™ 34'' QHD IPS Display Monitor has improved my workday tremendously, I love it.

I love this ultrawide 5K2K monitor from LG and could not wait to recommend it to you. Speaking of corns, it's refresh rate of 72hz (5ms response time) is definitely not top of the line nor its HDMI 2.0 version the latest standard for wider bandwidth (2.0 18Gbps vs 2.1 48Gbps). Lucky, none of which brothers me for my WFH and creative works on it and I'd say it's really a great investment, given you are not buying monitors regularly.

Simply game changing from my older monitors that only supported a max of 1920x1080.I am considering ordering a second and just using the two 34" monitors rather than having to have the 4 monitors I used previously. Right now with my current setup I have this one and 3 others that span about 80% of my L-shaped desk. I love having a lot of monitor real-estate for working and think two of these would let my setup be cleaner and still be just as productive as I was with the 4.Overall A++

The best productivity monitor in its price range
9 July 2023

I spent a long time debating on what I wanted/needed out of a monitor. I don't game on my PC but I'd convinced myself I needed a 38" 4K OLED curved monitor to replace my 2 32" curved 1080p that I gave to my son with my old ROG gaming PC. Not only was that ludicrous, it was wasteful because 17.3" Asus Viviobook with on processor graphics wouldn't push a big monitor to its potential. I found this open box for $250 and I couldn't pass it up. The QHD is a step above my old FHD monitors, plus the Windows 11 screen organization software makes running 3-4 windows at a time easy. I don't game on my PC but I'd convinced myself I needed a 38" 4K OLED curved monitor to replace my 2 32" curved 1080p that I gave to my son with my old ROG gaming PC. For a work screen that is also used for watching movies I don't think this can be beaten. The blue light filtering function work very well as well. WAY less eye strain. The curve is just enough for productivity. I would imagine it's not quite strong enough for serious gaming. The USB hub works very well, I've had no issues with it at all. Overall setup was plug and play. I haven't dialed in the colors, but they look pretty good in the factory configuration.

Two Screen in One Monitor
10 September 2022

I work in IT, I sit in front of a computer all day long, and traditionally I have been a 3 screen user for at least the past10 years. I've never been a big fan of the ultra-wide monitors, when I've tried them I find so much white space it becomes pointless. I've seen a great use for them in people in finance, working in huge excel spreadsheets, etc, but not the average worker. Well LG has changed my mind on this. Primarily due to the help of LG's OnScreen Control software that is included. This software does an Excellent job of allowing you to configure the screen in how it fits you best, 2 "virtual screens", no problem, 3? you got it. Now Windows 10/11 also has some of the capabilities built in and in other Microsoft software, but it doesn't do it quiet as gracefully as LG's software, also LG's software will only apply to its own screen, which is exactly what I want, as I still use other monitors as well. I do generally find text to be a bit crisper on this screen than my other primary monitor, and colors are certainly richer. The only oddity I experience is that sometimes it almost seems convex, because it is sitting next to a curved monitor. Part of me wishes there was a bit of a curve to this monitor. Overall adding this monitor has been huge, I've essentially "retired" the laptop screen to almost never being used, and now just use 2 monitors, with this LG being the main screen.
