I'm pretty happy with this microwave. It does everything as advertised, it's cheap, it plays groovy little jingles instead of the usual beeps, and it's efficient, powerful and capable of various cooking styles. My only negative is that the menus and sub-menus on the screen are not named, they're only numbered. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have the time or patience to remember which number corresponds to which meat/food type. This means I have to refer to the manual every single time, which is a little frustrating. For future units, I suggest they invest in named menus for the screen, it's worth an extra $50 at least!

There is not much excitement about getting a new microwave any more. It heats water molecules in food and cooks from the outside in. That's it. I use my convection oven much more to actually cook in. My microwave is mainly used for heating milk for my coffees, heat up a hot dog, the occasional omelet and steam vegetables. They really haven't changed that much in the last fifteen years. I bought this because it was a run-out model and considerably cheaper than it had been. The annoying feature of this model is that if you want to cook say 15 minutes you have to hold your finger on the button until it makes it's way to fifteen minutes - like you are resetting a digital clock. At least it gets there quickly however I would have preferred to be able to just input the exact time I wanted because you always overshoot the setting you want and have to faff about pressing another button to reduce the wrong time you reached. Had I realised I would have to do that then that might have made me think twice about my purchase however as I generally reheat/cook for much shorter periods of time I just use the 30 second add-on button to reach the lesser time periods I want which is easier

Its a great size for family of 4 and heats up pretty quickly i.e. frozen or room temperature. While the functions are good and covering a wide range of foods, the menu buttons are not intuitive or very limited. Dont throw away the manual as plenty of the heating and cooking instructions are in there showing you how to operate, press twice or thrice etc as there is no LCD screen. Buy the next series if you can, worth the additional dollars.
