This TV is the first one to bring MiniLED backlight technology which allows it to have greater control over the local dimming feature. The 65QNED99UPA features an IPS panel which allows wide viewing angles and low contrast, and the full-array local dimming helps improve the black level and gets closer to matching OLED black levels. I am not sure how many dimming zones LG has integrated in this TV, but the uniformity is pretty darn close and I did not notice any "dirty screen" effect. I did notice a few blooming around bright objects however I have not "broken in" this TV and with some fine tuning I believe I can eliminate most of blooming. Its design and build quality is very impressive. I like its panel, which is pretty thin and is the premium metal surrounding it stands out. If you want, it is easy to wall mount this TV and it will look gorgeous in any room. The Web OS has been refreshed and I still like its fluidity and easy to access menus. Smart platform has all kinds of popular apps like Disney Plus, Netflix, YouTube and so much more can be found in the LG Content Store. The new remote is so nice and has dedicated buttons to access the above mentioned apps. You can also use this remote to enable Google Assistant or Alexa and the built-in Mic will do the rest. There is NFC feature built-in the remote as well, so you can easily use your smart phone and cast its screen by simply tapping it on the remote. Very ingenious!Overall, I am very impressed with this TV and even though there is not much of 8K content available yet, you can enjoy beautiful 4K content upscaled to 8K and with its Mini LED backlighting, you are paying for an amazing picture quality to be enjoyed on every occasion. I received this TV at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

The LG 65inch QNED99 is a feature packed 8k television that will be as future proof as it gets. The television is heavy, and I suggest getting help to unbox it and wall mount it if you go that route. The QNED99 comes with four full bandwidth HDMI 2.1 at 8k 60hz but keep in mind that one of the ports is dedicated to ARC/E-ARC if you have more than three HDMI 2.1 devices. The TV is very easy to set up with the new version of WEBOS compared to other brands you should have the TV running in less than five minutes. The TV supports YouTube 8k APP and I suggest updating the APP and trying some 8K content it will leave you blown away and that is just the beginning of how great this TV is showing 8k content. Now there is not a lot of 8K content out there outside of YouTube APP but the QNED99 can upscale Standard Definition and High Def and 4k Content to 8k and it looks great and not washed out. The processor in this TV can handle the upscaling and keep the picture looking great. The TV does not support VRR for gaming, but I honestly don’t believe it needs it. From my gaming I haven’t experience any sort of tearing of lagging at high frame rates with my Xbox Series X and Nvidia graphics card, but I believe it would have been a great option to have on this TV and hopefully it can be added later via a firmware update. The TV does not support the new ATSC 3.0 if you are on the lookout for that spec. There is only one issue I encounter with the Television and it’s when using the Netflix app and subtitles the screen would tend to dim and bloom around subtitles but for me this is not a deal breaker because of the way the TV handles upscaling other content and gaming which doesn’t show the same issues. I believe the diming and blooming could be related to the Netflix app and LG has been constantly updating the TV. In all I would recommend this television to my friends and family that are looking for the set of features this TV offers. I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my fair and unbiased opinion.

I am an LG employee who received this product at a discount from LG, and this is my honest review of the product. TV right out the box (heavy) but manageable, felt very premium. When in wallpaper setting, you do get to experience the true 8K scene but as for every streaming platform, I have still yet to experience the true 8K. Even in comparison with the OLED TVs, I was expecting a more greater change from the OLED. Even comparing my older LG TV unit from 5+years ago, image/visual is comparably similar. So to justify the price point of retail being expensive, I would have just kept using the older LG TV. For the sound experience using the Dolby Atmos, I do use the LG sound bar SP7Y, and you do get to experience the cinematic setting of a movie theater at your own ... MoreI am an LG employee who received this product at a discount from LG, and this is my honest review of the product. Ultimately, hopefully in the near future, more platforms would support 8K, so I can experience the whole 8K QNED MiniLED.

The LG 75QNED99 is an incredible TV. The panel itself is thin and relatively light for the size. The initial setup is simple and straight forward and the first use blows you away. We wanted to see 8K in all it's glory and went to YouTube to find some 8K content, because your streaming 8K content I really do recommend a wired connection for the TV and with the wired connection and the high end processor we haven't experienced a loading screen or a delay at any point. The screen quality is just incredible, the colours and vivid and bright, the pixels seem non-existent, even standing close up and the contrast and blacks are just incredibly sharp, I'm really struggling to find any negative with this TV apart from the power cable being too short. That aside this TV is the dream. The 8K content has depth and despite it not being 3D, you feel like you could touch the animals or eat the food that comes on the screen. The frame of the TV is tiny and seems non-existent during use and the fact it's low energy too makes this a real winner. We absolutely love the TV and couldn't be happier to have it setup in our living room.

The LG 75QNED99 is definitely a huge upgrade from our previous tv. We upgraded from a 65” TV and I was really shocked when compared them side by side, the 75” really does make a big difference. So unless wall mounted, make sure you have a big enough tv stand to support this giant. I was sceptical of 8k televisions since there isn’t a lot of native 8k content out there but this TV does an amazing job at upscaling, always providing a crystal clear image. It also offers great sound quality with the AI Sound Pro settings turned on, making action movies and games more immersive. Not to mention the brilliant game optimiser which helps reduce latency and allows users to change various settings such as black/white stabilisers. The only thing which left me wanting a little bit more was the contrast, however there are many settings and smart picture modes allowing even the pickiest of users to find the right settings for themselves.

Ensuring picture and audio settings are set to UHD, to prevent any compatibility issues. Popular apps - Netflix, Disney+ and Prime TV are shortcut buttons on the remote. We had to download YouTube as this is a family favourite. There’s a few 8k content on YouTube, all I can say is WOW! I know at the moment there’s not much 8k content out there, but at least with the QNED99 we are future ready. It is an affordable alternative to an OLED 8k version.Currently the QNED is in a temporary position in our living room, however we will be moving to a conservatory extension (just in middle of DIY!). The slight matt screen will handle the bright light and reflections well. Also the seating in the conservatory will be forward facing. We found in the living room, the seat nearest to the the side of the TV slightly looses picture quality. Something we considered also is viewing height and distance (max 97.5”) from seating position.Gaming experience with Xbox S Console and QNED Game Optimiser is a game changer! Picture and sound quality gives insane immersion into the gaming world - not only is my son impressed, we all are! Refresh Rate 120Hz and HDMI 2.1 x 4.The gallery pictures is a nice touch, however I don’t think we will use this feature much. Maybe there’s an option to stream our own photo’s, if not - there should be!The magic remote in our opinion a feels a little too light, it does take time to get used to. However controlling the QNED with LG ThinQ app is spot on! We have had the TV for three weeks now and there still lots more to discover!

Great Picture and Magic Remote is Great

I also own a 65-inch LG OLED TV and bought this QNED for a bright room. The brightness is perfect and the colors are great. The art looks beautiful on the 8k display. The Magic Remote, which I love from my OLED works exactly the same. The gyro-controlled cursor is my favorite feature. I do wish that LG would focus on a single user interface for all their TVs and keep them all updated as they age. In my opinion, the OLED has a more usable and more responsive UI than the QNED. The app support from LG is really good on both TVs. They have all the major streaming providers without the need for an external device.

Initial reaction to LG 75QNED99

Having received the (larger than life!) product & testing it for 3 days in full (at least 10 hour usage with multiple platforms for input) I would review this product as saying it feels fairly similar to my previous 4K UHD LG TV purchased in 2017.The Dolby Atmos can only really be utilised with a good quality surround sound set up (as the TV doesn’t seem to have any inbuilt subwoofer) & the multiple options for TV modes can somewhat be, over complicated.I have tried different settings with Apple Tv, Xbox Series X & direct apps built in to the TV (webOs) however the quality (due to the input) can not really be judged at full 8k (as many providers & software do not yet output at this). I am also not as impressed as I would have expected to be (baring in mind the ... MoreHaving received the (larger than life!) product & testing it for 3 days in full (at least 10 hour usage with multiple platforms for input) I would review this product as saying it feels fairly similar to my previous 4K UHD LG TV purchased in 2017.The Dolby Atmos can only really be utilised with a good quality surround sound set up (as the TV doesn’t seem to have any inbuilt subwoofer) & the multiple options for TV modes can somewhat be, over complicated.I have tried different settings with Apple Tv, Xbox Series X & direct apps built in to the TV (webOs) however the quality (due to the input) can not really be judged at full 8k (as many providers & software do not yet output at this). I am also not as impressed as I would have expected to be (baring in mind the true price of this product) with the ‘Quantum Dot Nano Cell’ tech- or MiniLed.Overal the picture is great, and due to the size of the screen it really makes it feel like cinema (for everyday programmes & sport). The dark scenes are truly dark & the picture is crystal clear on majority of the settings / input formats tested so far. Gaming feels great (although again, can’t seem to access any 8k content as of yet (although the Dolby vision has enhanced both Xbox series x Nintendo switch ‘experience ‘- especially with the size(!)In terms of ‘out the box’ it was quite an effort for x2 delivery drivers as well as x2 adults trying to assemble. As with many LG ‘stands’ you want to make sure the product is as secure as possible (with fully screwing in the heavy base) prior to finding a table to fit the width & depth for such a heavy item(!)I think the software & user experience within the LG TV could be a bit more user friendly, and even have refreshability / demonstration modes to really ‘show off’ the full capability of the TV. I think as a 3-10 year investment, this TV will only get better over time, with the better / upgraded support in the UK for 8k input & streaming.

Superb TV - But Prefer the LG OLED

The Qned TV was boxed well and unpacking it was easy. The build quality of the TV is excellent and it feels sturdy. The stand of the TV looks good with the nice curve on it making it fell high end. We will be hanging it on the wall in the next few weeks.Operating the TV is fast and easy with the magic remote. It really makes inputting text a breeze. It’s very handy when setting up you inputting usernames and passwords for the various smart apps. Speaking of which the selection of Apps is great. The usual catch-up TV apps are available aswell as Netflix, Apple TV+ etc. when launching an app they automatically choose the best Picture settings. E.g HDR. However the only 8k content I had access to was on YouTube and it was limited.Sound Quality - sound is pretty good AI pro does a good job here but it can sometimes be a hard to hear some content.Overall it is a phenomenal TV, however I also own an LG C1 65 inch OLED TV and when comparing to the Qned, the OLED wins on picture quality. The blacks are deeper and the colours feel more accurate.Unless you need the 8K, I’d go for the cheaper LG OLED G1.

What an impressive upgrade!

I got the awesome opportunity to get this TV at a discounted price in exchange of my unbiased opinion and truthful review. The LG MiniLED 99 Series 8K Smart TV w/ AI ThinQ® is as impressive as I expected it to be. LG has always come up with good quality electronics and I’ve heard of only good feedback from those who own stuff from them. This is my first LG TV and I literally could not stop talking about it to my family and friends. Material-wise, it is made of very good and sturdy quality. Setting it up wasn’t too challenging either, it came with instructions beginning from how to open the box (for ease of unboxing) to setting up the different features the TV comes with. It took me and my mom to put it on our console after propping it on the cardboard box it came to install the stand. I appreciate this because I was hesitant at first because this task is normally assigned to my hubby but he was away and k was too excited. I’m sure I’m not the only one who gets irked by the sight of too many wires. I love that this TV comes with wire organizers. As I was setting it up I just kept on exclaiming wow and the moment I turned it on I was even more amazed. The Magic Remote is very apply named because it is in fact, a magic wand! It makes controlling so easy and I love that it also has a built in mic for our fave virtual assistant. The picture is so crisp and the colors are dynamic. The Game Optimizer was a familiar sight to see, as my LG PC monitor has it too. The AI Picture and Sound settings are definitely something to behold to as it adapts to the environment your TV is in. I would totally recommend this wonderful TV and I assure you whatever TV you have now, this LG MiniLED one is a definite upgrade.
