A Convulated TV

Hate it. I bought a LG Smart tv in 2015 and it died this year. It was SMART! And by that I mean it was easy to navigate and very easy for a new beginner to a SMART tv. I could download apps easily whereas this smart tv is convoluted, difficult to understand, too many apps they try to entice you to join, and adverts to what ia streaming, apps you could purchase and it is just a tv commercial station. It's simplicity has been sold out. And because Smart TV's are programmed for so many things, their years are numbered, 4-7 years apparently so I was luck with 6+ years. So, I can see this will last a couple. Oh! And the home dashboard does not help you download the ABC iview or SBS Demand. I have to go to search then link into the web. I don't have great techno skills and that is why I bought another LG SmartTv. Then they told me a technician would contact me in two days. That was over a week ago. Whilst, this tv does have a fabulously clear picture. and the sound is good I would not recommend it. It should be easy to navigate and it is not.

A quality product at a good price

The TV itself is a quality product at a good price - the size is just right for my lounge room. I don't understand why the remote control is different to the remote control for my previous LG tv. The info function on the previous remote / tv was very handy - now to get the same info about programs seems a very clunky process. The magic remote keeps flicking to a cursor bubble which is annoying. But, as I said, the tv itself is a quality product at a good price.

Decent basic 4K gaming TV.

If you don't have the budget for a higher end TV, and want a decent brand, then this unit is the way to go. I use it for my PC, and 1440p and 4K gaming, and I'm quite happy with it for my use case. I only play single player games, so don't need the high response times or high FPS of those who player twitch shooters and esports titles. It runs my Far Cry, Uncharted, Pathfinder, etc quite happily and still looks good enough for my needs. It's also good for watching YouTube (via browser) and streaming TV. I don't watch sport so can't comment there. If you're after a quality budget TV I'd go here. It loses a point for having no 3.5mm headphone jack and thus requiring a bluetooth headset for headphone listening directly via the TV.

Excellent TV which could be better
12 June 2022

This TV replaced old Samsung Smart TV. The colours are good & sound is clear and strong. However, the remote is not as user friendly as the Samsung. The screen is too reflective in normal daylight and no settings fix that. I found that it was missing station app for 10play. Pointer is very touchy when using on screen even in slow setting.

I love this TV!
6 June 2022

I have had this TV for a couple of days and so far I am very happy with it. It is a great quality TV with great sound. It doesn't sound tinny like some of the cheaper TV's. The remote is cool. You can use it to point and click (much like the Wii) or you can use the buttons to go through the menus. You can also link the TV to your smart phone and use your smart phone as a remote. It is missing a pause button on the remote, I think if you click back it will pause it for you. As I've only had it a couple of days, some things I'm still learning to use. Its menu system is easy to operate and install apps. Set up was pretty straight forward. Picture is clear with great colours.

LG 86 inch recommendation
8 September 2022

Before purchase we read reviews on LG after owning Panasonic and Sony over the years. All really good reviews. In store we were recommended the LG 86inch for our needs. Our lounge area is quite large and really impressed with picture quality of such a big screen. Wouldn’t recommend for small room. Price seemed very reasonable for the quality of TV.

Lg smart tv
4 February 2023

In our 80’s needed the simplest controller which turned out to be Lg or Samsung. Opted for Lg on good reviews and research online and salesperson at Harvey Norman. All works brilliantly BUT again the instructions need major rewrite. So small print , not enough clear diagrams to follow even to do basic setup. Luckily had son visiting who was much more savvy than elder parents. Not the only company who has this issue . Need clear print instructions regardless of language and very clear diagrams and parts identify pics and labels. Tv work brilliantly thanks apart from miserable print copy of all instructions

Not sorry I bought this set.

I am mostly very happy with this television, the picture is very good and the sound quality is generally acceptable. It is definitely good value for money. There are a couple of things I would change. For a start I would like to be able to remove or reallocate the buttons for Netflix, Prime, Disney etc. I don't use any of these services.I am not too happy with the lack of controls when viewing anything on an external hard drive or thumb drive. The buttons for the services listed above could (should?) be made to control such things as pause, fast forward, rewind etc. There is also a problem with recordings on thumb drives where the video keeps stopping and starting, as if the transfer rate is too slow for the recordings to run normally.Anyone not using external ... MoreI am mostly very happy with this television, the picture is very good and the sound quality is generally acceptable. Remote difficulties
5 January 2023

I am disappointed with the remote and the lack of adequate instructions. The buttons are too small and if you are a lady with medium length nails it is very difficult to press the correct button. I have been unable to use the tv catch up feature because there are no instructions. I have two other tvs and the remotes are very easy to use, even with the lights off. I intend to return to The Good Guys hoping someone will assist me with operating the remote. I am hoping you will be able to supply a different remote that is more user friendly.

Sound sync is all inconsistent
7 April 2023

I can't recommend this TV. This TV is connected by HDMI to my sound bar and Fetch mighty, as well as amedia player on my home network. Sound synchronisation is very inconsistent with all combinations for any source (Fetch, media player, or live TV) to any sound output (via sound bat or TVs speakers). the only combination that works consistently is live tv from the TV Italy's to the TVs own speakers. Note Fetch box and sound bar are connected via HDMI. I have tried adjusting TVs sync options, but nothing gives consistency. I bought this model to replace a Panasonic, which rarely had sound sync problems.
