All those awesome local free channels!!!!

Bought our new LG 86" on superbowl weekend. Our 65" Panasonic had suddenly gone black screen after about 15 years. We definitely love the size and picture is great. Also weighed quite a bit less than the older TV. Easy to use and maneuver. Even my husband who is not tech smart can figure it out. Also no rooftop antenna to get the local channels we wanted. We can now watch all the games without interference of weather. Love our new TV!

Let me start by saying that I believe that my wife and I are above average intelligence and are reasonably competent with technology. Have had this TV for just over a week now and am very happy with it. Easy to set up even for a technophobe like me. Not sure I will ever use all its capabilities but the picture quality is much better than the five year old Hisense TV that it replaced (due to the Hisense developing alternating between a rolling screen / black screen with sound only). Time will tell if this TV has improved longevity over the Hisense TV but in the meantime we are enjoying using it. Very easy to install more Apps that didn't come with the TV. Remote was easy to use as well. Very reasonable price too especially taking into the account the double RAC discount of 10%.

Great picture but has some quirks
31 May 2024

We purchased this TV in Nov, 2023, and for the most part, performance has been very good, although the remote control operation is sometimes quirky, and we recently started having a streaming issue. Remote control operation does NOT always work smoothly, especially with Amazon Prime where navigating through shows and making a selection can be a crap shoot, as the cursor seems to time-out too quickly. The recent streaming issue appears to be related to the lack of a dedicated app for Acorn TV, forcing us to use a web link to get to the website. This worked OK until 2 to 3 weeks ago when the web app started crashing about 10 to 15 minutes into the show we were watching. The TV would display a message similar to "this app must be closed to free up memory". We would start again from when it crashed, but it would crash again in 5 to 10 minutes, and do this repeatedly, which was very annoying.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!

If I could give LG as a company a negative rating I would! We bought our TV less than three months ago and were watching TV when all of a sudden the picture went black and no sound! We went through all the steps of power recycling and all that, nothing worked! Called LG Customer Service and that was a complete joke!!!!! They made me wait for them to find someone who services LG in my area (which I don’t live in alittle town) ! That was also not even put into motion until I called them twice about my repair and 10 days into this whole process! Then they sent the repair out to a servicer who called me and wanted me to do all these diagnostic tests which is there job, and the repair man started complaining about how he didn’t get paid enough to drive back and forth to ... MoreIf I could give LG as a company a negative rating I would! So I called LG customer service yet again to let them know and asked to speak to a manager and asked why they will not just replace our TV considering it is only 3 months old ( I have my receipt)! The manager informed me they don’t do that! Long story short I still do not have my TV fixed and I will NEVER BUY LG PRODUCTS AGAIN!!!!!!!

Life's Good!!! It's Big!!!

Awesome, Big and Amazing price when on sale for under $2k. The picture wizard set up is excellent and makes a massive difference to picture colours and quality. Yes some of the original non hd free to air channels look ordinary but it's a 86 inch panel not a 32 inch. The HD channels are good and watching 4k blu rays is amazing. Especially with the HDR. Excellent remote control with number buttons still plus a great navigation cursor that flys around the screen making things very easy.

Nice features, several didn't work
11 July 2023

We really wanted to like this TV because the picture is very good for the money, but some of the smart features we bought it for simply did not work. Specifically, the Matter, Bluetooth, the wireless Internet link never functioned properly. Despite resetting everything, I could link it to the LG ThinQ app. The WebOS UI froze up a bunch of times and the only way to regain control was to turn it off. It got very annoying very quickly. We got it at Sam's Club and I spoke to the TV area manager and he said he had not heard of those issues before and suggested we return or exchange it, which we did for a refund. We decided not to risk an exchange since having it happen again meant returning another TV so we opted for a TV from a different manufacturer. Terrible customer service. Many issues with watchi
5 May 2024

Picture quality is fine. However, there are many, many issues. It would not hook up to my l. G soundbar. So I had to return that it does not work with watch TCM. And now all of a sudden, you can't watch the spectrum app. Either plus customer service is wretched. They do not help at all. User manuals with the t. V. You have to go through the TV to get to the user manual. Which takes way too long and when I contacted customer service last night they just cut me off and stop the chat. I can't call in because I work during the hours. That you are available

[Rewarded Review] New TV to replace an older Vision TV
22 December 2023

We purchased this TV for our Christmas present to ourselves. While it was fairly easy to assemble and set up, I did find that the TV was fairly complicated to use, with a lot of functions that I still do not use or understand. I also found that it didn't have the accessory connections that I needed for our VHS tape playor or DVD player, so cannot use them now at all. I also cannot set up our sound system that we had from our previous TV since there is no sound output and the LG sound system costs more than the TV did, so that's out of our range. We are still working on understanding how to use the TV and it's many function and station apps. With all of the setups and user guide information on the TV and not a booklet, and us being an older generation, we are struggling to use many of the functions, and even setups. We still have to use 2 remotes, since we have Dish Satellite system, which will shut down after a couple of hours of inactivity, and it will not start up without using the remote for Dish. It's also harder to change channels, look at the guide, etc., for Dish using the LG remote. So that being said, it's not all that we hoped that it would be.The picture quality and overall TV system is quite nice compared to our older TV, but not having our sound bar for a quality sound, not having hookups for our DVD and VHS systems, it is not as useful as our older TV.We still really like the TV itself and the quality though. The price was decent as well. Only time will tell if we will purchase another LG after this one.
