My husband and I were looking to replace a tv in our back living area and we stumbled on the idea of a home projector. We had taken our first family road trip and it would have been so ideal to be able to have one to take on the go so we can stream the kids favorite movies and shows. This projector is literally what we were looking for. We watched a ton of cost effective projector reviews on YouTube and LG was an easy choice! This projector is compact, Easy to move from room to room, It does have a speaker built-in, but you can also connect your sound bar to it, But our favorite feature is the fact that the picture auto adjusts. With a toddler and not the full set up for one yet- if they happen to pick it up or move it, it will auto adjust so that way the picture is ... MoreMy husband and I were looking to replace a tv in our back living area and we stumbled on the idea of a home projector. The picture is great, and the kids have loved watching nature videos blown up on the wall. I would love in the future if they had an option to have a battery built in where I could take this on the go without being plugged in for use. The only other con I would say is that the remote has to be pointed at the projector for it to work, which is tough if we had it hung up it wouldn’t register if we were sitting facing the wall lol. But over all, we are so beyond pleased with our choice. The kids love it and we are looking forward to more family movie nights!

Have been looking for a new projector for a while and purchased the Cinebeam Q because I wanted a small and discrete lifestyle projector that I don't have to keep putting away but equally doesn't draw too much attention to itself. Also wanted to be able to move it around between bedroom and living room and In that regards, the Q checks a lot of boxes. It's actually shockingly small, the OS is quick and responsive (as is the auto keystone) with a great array of native apps (incl. Netflix) and it delivers a great 4K picture for such a small device. You do need a darkened space to fully enjoy the experience because the more ambient light, the more washed out the picture (500ANSI) but it's definitely worth the experience at night. When right, the colours are bright ... MoreHave been looking for a new projector for a while and purchased the Cinebeam Q because I wanted a small and discrete lifestyle projector that I don't have to keep putting away but equally doesn't draw too much attention to itself. You do need a darkened space to fully enjoy the experience because the more ambient light, the more washed out the picture (500ANSI) but it's definitely worth the experience at night. When right, the colours are bright and vivid and contrast is amazing and its runs pretty quiet and completely inaudible when audio is playing (warms ever so slightly on the top). Audio wise, it's great with EARC available on the HDMI port for connecting to a soundbar but you have bluetooth as well for other devices. The fact that it can run off a USB-C PD battery bank is awesome and allows you to take all that functionality on the road.In terms of limitations, my main operational niggle is that the remote will only work pointing at the back of the device so you can't really have the projector tucked away behind you. The remote itself also feels a bit cheap and plastic and combine with IR, is a real shame because it could have easily been solved by a front IR port our using a style matched bluetooth/RF remote. You can get around this by using LG's ThinQ app but then it makes the physical remote a little redundant. Again, perhaps something will be fixed in a future release. The other challenge while it does run WebOS, it is a somewhat stripped down version so for those of us in the UK, apps like BBC iPlayer, ITVX, etc. do not work currently as they do with TVs. Speaking with LG, they said it was due to some differences for the projector firmware but reading around further, it appears to be more related to broadcast rights whereby a TV is allowed to run those apps but a projector is not. Naturally you can get around this by plugging in a 3rd party streaming device like an Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, Chromecast, etc. but in doing this, you lose access to the one and only HDMI EARC port so no soundbar/Atmos so you'd have to resort to bluetooth for audio (here's hoping a Q2 will have a second HDMI port)All in all, it's a great little 4k projector and get's SO much right for my use case and I zero regrets in picking it up for my use case. If the Q2 will can come with more brightness, a 2nd HDMI, a better remote, some sort of screen detection to compliment the auto keystone and a built-in battery (or a directly attachable one), can't imagine you needing to by another one. Good job LG.

Also the Cinebean Q is not supported by the LG ThinQ app so you can’t monitor and control it from the app.

Having purchased a handful of projectors over the years I was hesitant in going for something so small but was a little tired of moving around big/bulky/loud projectors. I was prepared to swap image/sound quality for portability, but when I turned it on in my darkened lounge room against a white wall I was floored that the quality of the image, particularly the colours, was miles ahead of my much more expensive bulky projector, and I don't mean on cartoons where all projectors do well, but on movies and youtube... It was bright, vibrant, ACCURATE and immersive. My more expensive bulky projector looked washed out compared to this tiny cube! It floored me as I thought I would have to compromise. The portability: I loved quickly being able to move it around to any wall, ceiling without needing to manually adjust keystone, focus etc – making for quick & easy placement. I don’t use the internal speaker as I rather my much more immersive external Bluetooth speaker for richer sound. These are my first impressions after a few hours of use, I am yet to get much more going because for me it’s just movies, youtube and gamiung. I would love to see accessories available in Australia like the Special Leather Protector, floor stand in the future.
I love this projector as a “movie in bed” girl. I wanted to get something sleek yet powerful for watching shows and movies in bed at night with a small light on or in the dark. Exceeded my expectations by a landslide. The picture quality is very high-quality and good in moderate light. It’s sleek and very portable so if I wanted to move this into a different room or different wall, I can. My critiques are: consider getting an external Bluetooth speaker for this setup. The Bluetooth capabilities are easy to maneuver, which is good. But like all projectors, the internal built-in speaker is not very powerful. Separately, I’m surprised that Hulu and HBO Max are not in the App Store. Luckily, I have been using airplay to cast it onto the projector with no problems. ... MoreI love this projector as a “movie in bed” girl. The set up was also simple, although I did run into some issues, but it was a user error. Review submitted as part of a program that provides a purchase discount.
If there was an award for 'Cute Tech' the LG q projector would win hands down, but its not all great news I'm afraid. I love LG stuff and my main movie watching projector is the LG HU70LS 4K which I absolutely love and gave the thing 5 stars in a previous review. First off the picture quality even in 'standard' picture setting out of the box is excellent despite only 500 ansi lumens and a hefty 450,000:1 contrast ratio. Perhaps because of the just 500 lumens I would stick to a screen of about 80-90 inches. The advertised 120 would struggle even in a pitch black room with zero light coming in. Also going over 100" seems to mess with the auto-focus which I will come to next. The auto screen adjustment/auto focus was a little hit and miss. If you have'nt got the Q nice and level/central to the screen (the ad says point it anywhere, take it anywhere) I found the auto stuff getting a little confused. Thankfully you can go into 'settings' and 'Installation Wizard' and do a multi point screen correction and sharpen up the focus manually. Its very light on connections as well with just 1 HDMI and a USB C. Yes, you can linc via bluetooth to a soundbar, bluetooth headphones but there are sometimes lip sync problems with bluetooth. I have had no problems with that as I have synced my LG soundbar to it, so far so good. Would have liked a USB B and a 3.5mm (wired headphones) and maybe a second HDMI socket. May be too much to also ask for a Toslink/Optical connection. One thing I was really disapointed about is the remote control. It isnt bluetooth so you have to remember to point it right at the projector which can be a pain. At this price I would have expected maybe one of the smaller 'magic remotes' often packaged with LG TV's and yes, maybe even backlit. Sound from the Q and its 3 watt speakers is tinny and not very good but even more expensive projectors have poor speakers. You expect that and make sure you have a nice soundbar or some quality headphones. Having said all this it is a lovely bit of kit with lovely picture quality, vibrant punchy colours and looks great on, and not in, your sideboard. Probably this price largely because of the 4k uhd 3 laser RGB pixel shifting lens and I got it on the discounted pre-order price with nice protective case. Its a keeper but will not replace my HU70 for big screen movie watching.
This LG CineBeam Q projector has exceeded all of my expectations! Wow!!! I am so happy with this product. It's sleek, portable design and top-quality 4K picture make it a standout. I’ve been using it for outdoor movie nights, and the effortless auto screen and focus adjustments are impressive—no manual setup needed. I'm really not sure why most of the reviews here are throwing shade. A few seem to be postage handling problems and a few seem to be people that did no research into the unit before buying. Noted some mention missing peices but if only two people have mentioned it here out of the thousand's that bought the unit I wouldn't worry. The two biggest points - portability and speaker output where very very well documented in pre release reviews. For me portability isn't and issue. A 12V battery pack plugged in via the DC port has solved the issue of this being tethered to a wall outlet. The speaker is very very basic, well documented before release. Think the same level as your phone speakers, it should be noted personally I think a speaker shouldn't be included at all, if the integrated speakers were any stronger then noticeable shake might be introduced to thre image quality during loud scenes? (I know my portable speakers vibrate like crazy on loud volume) 100% invest in a Bluetooth speaker or headset for any quality audio.Video quality is amazing for the size. Crisp and colourful in the right environments. Note even a small amount of ambient light will wash the image out. But watching in dark is a great experience. At 120" though I have noticed some bluring of the image as time progresses requiring a re focus (hopefully can be fixed with a future software update)Build quality is excellent, no issues with my unit or postage. My remote works as intended and I have no issues with connectivity or responsiveness (though the remote seems to be a massive afterthought) for gen2 please LG give more focus to the remote and its athetics. My usage is: Camping, use in my CamperVan and at home move nights with the kid all of which this unit for me is best in class.
TL;DRPros: Easy setup, premium look and feel, WebOS is intuitive, picture qualityCons: No available protective case, awful internal sound, remote control is IR, no internal or external batteryI'm about a day into my ownership of the CineBeam Q and overall, I'm pretty happy with it. First things first, it's pretty expensive and I'm surprised it doesn't ship with protective case of some sort. Actually I have yet to find an official (or unofficial) protective case on sale anywhere as of yet which is baffling for an item that is suppose to be portable. I would probably think twice about taking my unprotected projector anywhere so make a case LG! Oh and a battery would be great.... I would probably think twice about taking my unprotected projector anywhere so make a case LG! Oh and a battery would be great.... (u know, portable and all)Moving on... the projector does the basics really well. The look and feel of the product is definitely premium, unboxing and setting it up is a breeze and i'm overall a fan of LG WebOS (although I can't seem to find the Hulu app in the this LG content store even though it's present on my LG CX 77...weird). The picture is crisp on a white wall and I'm interested to see how it performs once I get my projector screen. The auto focus feature is works as intended and finding the optimal position for viewing was relatively easy to figure out.Now for my gripes....the internal audio is awful. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch but its just bad. Luckily I got the free Bluetooth speaker promotion and I have to say, the LG XBOOM XO2TBK speaker is pretty awesome. The setup was easy (how hard can a bluetooth setup be tbh) and the sound quality definitely did pleasantly surprise me. I really recommend it! If you get this projector, you have to get an external speaker (don't think, just buy one...trust me).Final annoyance (and this one really gets me)... the remote control is IR. Like, it requires that you point at an IR receiver to work. My issue with this is that its not always easy to be in the right position (facing somewhere behind the projector I think) for the direct link to be done. Useability wise, it's annoying. I get that this is not a TV, its a projector. Fine but I'm willing to bet that everyone that uses a remote somewhat points it at the screen you are watching when you are navigating the menu looking for a show, not pointing it behind you or to the side or wherever you setup up your projector. This product is so close to being great, I'm sure I might find some more little issues here and there after some more usage but overall I'm happy with this product and I intend to keep it.

It also shipped perfectly with everything we expected in the box. My one complaint is that the remote only works if you point it exactly at the back not from the front or side which is cumbersome.I literally had to pinch myself last night when we were watching the movie. It was just so amazing! It was easy to give this a five-star review and I would give it more stars if I could.
