Good basic microwave, but I hope it lasts.

A good basic microwave. I like the simplicity of the controls on the panel when door is closed. More complex control buttons are accessed when the door is open. I also like the pull handle for the door instead of the more usual push-button. I wish the interior was a lighter colour, for easier viewing of food being cooked. I've had this less than one month. I purchased this to replace an earlier LG microwave of a similar size. I hope this one lasts better than that one that lasted under 6 years, and stopped working when it produced a strong burning electrical smell.

Great microwave with some build quality issues.

For the most part, this a a seriously great microwave! It is the most evenly heating microwave I have used. It is one of the most powerful domestic microwaves on the market and it does work fast. The defrost, soften and sensor functions work great, with the exception of reheat, which seems to overheat whatever you are reheating to the point it will boil over or overcook. The ease of use is great, with quick start options, the slider bar to adjust time is quick and can be used through most functions (though smaller time increments would be useful!). The easy clean interior lives up to its name, being easy to wipe out as nothing seems to stick or bake on and the led lighting is bright, meaning you can see what is going on. It also looks slick in its mirror black finish. The downside to this microwave is its build quality. I am on my second unit, after the first one would suddenly cut out half way through cooking, with a 'door' error. This seemed to occur during times with higher interior heat build up from use. This would then render the microwave useless unless you reset it. The 'door' error has occurred on my current unit, but has not been the persistent and irritating nuisance of the previous one. The door does feel more flimsy that you would expect of a premium microwave and the turn table wheel trolley looks like an afterthought, with half the wheels being immobile. This does cause annoying harmonics during use. The other small irritations with the unit are having to turn the microwave off at the power point to change the clock (not great with daylight savings and my microwave being installed in a cupboard with an awkward to reach power point) and the 'end' chime, which also signals when you need to turn over items that are being defrosted. A beep would suffice, or the ability to change the tune! Overall, it a very good unit, with a few quality flaws that prevent it from being a five star unit.

Great microwave. Looks great. Clever features.

Very happy with this microwave. It lives up to everything that the marketing materials said it would. All the sensor cooking programs seem to work well and we love the black finish. The clean fuss-free face makes it appear fresh and new and the operation of the touchscreen is easy and intuitive. The cool white LED interior light is a small change but a big improvement compared to previous microwaves that we have owned. We wouldn’t mind an option to change the chime when it’s finished though.

HEATS QUICKLY & EASY TO USE
13 September 2022

I would recommend this microwave to everyone! Love the stylish look! It heats quickly and very easy to operate so all round a 5/5 star for me. My experience with Harvey Norman when purchasing this item was exceptional and could not fault them. Easy online ordering and my microwave arrived in way ahead of my expectations! Well done Harvey Norman. I'll be shopping with you again.

Impressive Microwave
5 July 2022

Nice and sleek design, fitting perfectly with our stainless steel appliances. Still getting used to the musical notifications that sometimes go off mid heating as well as at the end, and then very regularly after completing cooking. Overall a very good unit. Very happy about the internal dimension as well as the external. It has more capacity than our old unit and is smaller in size. Definitely would recommend this microwave for anyone in the market.

LG microwave love it
24 September 2022

Love the fact you only have to push one button, 30 seconds push it again for another 30 seconds You can add or minus 10 seconds with another button with ease. When I say button I mean touch sensitive. If you want to do more than just reheat that is all behind the door. I can’t vouch for the auto cooking function but I have used the different power settings. With ease Love this microwave and it plays a gentle tune when it’s done. No aggressive beeps

Micro-Wow! This one is the pick for 42L
6 August 2022

Great function, form and fit. We replaced a failed convection/grill/microwave and just went back to "simple". Probably the best-platter width out there. Defrost and auto-sense functions work well (probably use "baked potato" more than the other auto-functions; stop it early then "squish" on a frypan for a minute or two each side for a crispy skin :-))

Microwave Touchscreen fails and f3 error
21 July 2022

We have had this microwave for just over 3 years. The outside touchscreen started to fail just after 2 years (which I know is just out of warranty). The buttons work on the inside but when you close the cover you cannot press the touchscreen to start it. Also regularly displays F3 error. Keep it shut down for 2 weeks and it works for 2 days and then goes back to same issues. I would have expected a LG product (advertised as the best in its category and award winning) to last more than 2-3 years. Really disappointed as it worked well for the first 2 years.

Replacement for older unit of the same model.
26 June 2022

This is a replacement for the same model we purchased 4 years ago. Unfortunately the old one had a problem with the display missing part of the numbers rendering it unreliable. Later it started not warming foods up correctly otherwise we were very happy with the old one and hence purchasing the same again, this one has the black glass front to it and blends in with other appliances. So far there have not been any issues with the new unit and I don't expect any.

Stylish smart and quiet
12 November 2020

Ive had this microwave for almost two years now and it hasnt let me down. I love its stylish looks and how easy it is to keep clean. My favourite feature and the one I use most, is the sensor cook, no need to remember how many minutes and at what power level, just pick the corresponding number for the food you want to cook, press start and walk away. I come back to perfectly cooked rice and vegetables every time. I only wish the program sticker was in larger print so I didnt have to use my glasses to be able to read it. I also use the soften feature and this works really well on butter without melting it. This microwave has a cute little jingle to tell you when its done which I thought might become irritating after a while, but it actually doesnt. I also love that you can leave the door ajar when you are finished, to allow the interior to dry out properly, and the led lights will turn off after a little while. Doing this means my oven still looks as perfect as the day I got it, unlike my last oven which peeled and rusted from retained moisture. Overall this is a great microwave and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it :-)
