I've had these about a week.My tv is the LG C2 OLED. The rear speaker set up was challenging. The receiver connected to my LG S90QY soundbar easily. However, to make sound come out of them I had to do this:Using the soundbar remote I changed the soundbar setting to ON Surround. You have to scroll right once then up or down to change to ON. Then I turned off the soundbar, waited for the light on the rear speaker receiver to turn red, then turned on the tv using the tv remote, which then turned on the soundbar (if the soundbar is set to ON Auto which is the default) then the soundbar turned on the rear speakers. It was good to go after that. Sounds simple but the instructions don't tell you all that. I searched for helpful info for one afternoon, gave up, then tried again several days later which is when I found the info that made the setup so easy. The screen on the soundbar is small so it scrolls showing partial letters and if you don't act on it, it will revert back from the menu screen. You have to know what to look for. Hope that helps. It's strange that such a large receiver is necessary for the speakers to work. Plus, the speakers are attached to the receiver using wires which makes them not wireless. The receiver is roughly the same size as a Mac mini M1 or M2. That's huge for a device whose sole purpose is to receive a bluetooth signal. Ear buds do that in a much smaller size. What gives?

I purchased the SPQ8-S to go along with my S90QY soundbar. After I set them up they immediately connected to my soundbar and have stayed connected without any disconnecting issues. Options also appeared in the Soundbar app on my phone to control the volume levels and high and low adjustments for these rear speakers. The soundbar sounded good by itself but after adding these rear speakers it completely blew me away with how amazing the whole system sounded. It truely gives you that surround sound experience. If you have a compatible soundbar I highly recommend you get these rear speakers or your definitely missing out on an awesome experience.

These little wireless speakers pack a punch when paired with the LG Soundbar, in my case the LG S80QY. By connecting SPQ8-S wireless speakers to the soundbar, the surround sound of the pair is elevated to basically cinema quality. With these speakers I felt the action of movies all around me as if I was in the movie which had me grinning the whole time. Setting up the speakers is easy and can be done by just mounting the speakers however you want and then connecting it to the soundbar as per the instructions and then you're ready to experience sound. For anyone that wants to elevate their home cinema experience I would recommend this soundbar and wireless speakers combo.

I decided to purchase an LG SPQ8-S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit as an addition to my LG S90QY Sound Bar. It was a beneficial purchase. They can also be wall mounted, but the mounting accessories have to be purchased separately.Overall, I'm thrilled with the LG sound bar package. It has enhanced my TV watching. Movies have clear dialogue even during loud action scenes. Sports commentary is optimal even when the crowd is cheering loudly. The SPQ8-S Rear speakers certainly enhance the sound bar experience. Highly recommended.
Love the ability to put rear speakers behind my bed in my room. I did not want to run the wires on the floor from the tv, so the hub idea worked great, The rear wires were no issue because I can on the floor behind the bed. I put the speakers on the wall, and left the hub beside the bed. Great sound overall. I love the rea sound effects. A bit louder on the rears would be cool, but only noticed it a few times. no distortion or dropout. A cool add!
I got the LG Soundbar and wanted to add surround sound to it. This little package works great for that. I love the fact that the box wirelessly syncs to the main soundbar and there is no wiring from that point. You then just plug in the speakers with the included speaker wire and turn it on. It found the soundbar right away. There is no delay from being wireless which was a concern before I got this, but no need to worry. Now I have sound that better matches what I want.
I bought these rear speakers along with my recent purchase of the LG S90QY soundbar to accompany my LG C2 OLED TV. Although advertised as "wireless rear speakers", keep in mind that the speaker modules themselves are not wireless; they are wired, connected to a wireless *receiver*, which you then pair with the soundbar wirelessly.Overall, I'm satisfied with these speakers. The setup is really easy and straightforward; sound quality wise, it is only ok. I was expecting a true immersive experience when playing back Dolby Atmos content from my TV, but it was very difficult to discern any of the sounds coming from these speakers (fyi: the surrond sound toggle is turned off by default, so you will need to turn it on via the app or the remote control of the soundbar. I did make sure this was turned on when testing the Atmos content). However, when playing back non-Dolby Atmos content (i.e. standard 5.1 surround sound), these speakers worked well. Given many more content out there are Dolby Atmos, I would expect these speakers would deliver that high quality, immersive sound that would complement my soundbar.Overall, I would still recommend this product if the cost will not break your bank. Otherwise, should LG release an updated or compatible rear speaker module for the S90QY soundbar with improved quality over Dolby Atmos content, I would wait for that.
I bought these after reading on Best Buy's Q&A (by LG staff) that these worked with the SP8YA soundbar. This soundbar is a year old and is still being sold by LG today (bought 2 days ago). They don't, I've been trying for hours to get it to connect. Apparently others were led to believe that these were cross compatible as well by LG staff.Rather disappointed in LG's decision to not make these cross compatible with SPK8 soundbars as well as the new ones. Really puts a major hamper on my otherwise positive impression of LG.
I just bought a Sound Bar SP8YA and the Rear Speaker Kit SPQ8-S from B.B. as recommended by sales associate. The Manual and everything I’m finding online state these will connect automatically to my sound bar.Yes, the Surround is turned on, in the sound bar. ‘ON-SURROUND’ is displayed in the settings. But no matter what I do, they will not connect… the hub is just flashing green.I’ve unplugged everything, checked all connections… flashing green is all I get…And after 3 days it now appears that BB sold me a rear set that is not compatible with my sound bar based on some articles I’ve found…
I got this a couple months after purchasing s80qy on open box from best buy. Pairs very simply and I am able to have the receiver tucked neatly under my couch. Definitely recommend mounting these higher up for better sound, and experimenting with the different eq profiles. Cinema mode generally sounds best to me with the center channel turned up slightly for clearer dialogue in movies. I use the standard mode while gaming and that seems to work best for me.
