Wow! I can’t recommend this product highly enough. If your cat is a guts and eats her wet food too fast, which often leads to vommies, the Lickimat will slow the process down. I honestly think that Billie enjoys the challenge of the Lickimat - she certainly gets smoochy (and demanding!) when she sees it! It’s perfect to use with the PetzPark powders mixed through your kitty’s favourite wet treat, or some plain yoghurt.
My persian cat has difficulty eating from bowls, but his squish-face cannot get into the crevices on this mat. I hoped it would make the process of eating easier for him. At least it is relatively easy to clean.
A lot of food left over in the mat after my cats eat, hard for them to get out. I have to scoop it out with a chopstick. Mat also gets sticky on the bottom. Would recommend one with larger design.
I bought the Casper and Felix styles of mat and I find the Casper is hard to clean due to its smaller holes / gaps. My cat seems to like eating off it though - although she is greedy and I am not sure it is slowing her down that much.
My cat always ate off a bread plate. We've tried so many cat dishes and she hated them. With her food, she would lick all the sauce and couldn't seem to pick up smaller prices, her teeth would clang on the plate! Since lickimat, her eating habits are much more enjoyable for her, she's eating all her food, and she licks her mat! Her teeth aren't clashing with the fish, her whiskers are not rubbing on anything, she's so happy. I wished I bought this years ago! You do need to soak the mat to soften old food, and use a small brush to help remove dry particles. I don't mind cleaning the mat if she's happy
So my cats are really fussy and weird and things, so getting these I had no idea what would happen. I'm amazed to say that both cats use this. One more than the other, but they love it when I put the beef bone broth on it. You'd think it's the best thing ever. They want it every day. Definitely a paws up from the kitties.
