Before people go ham for my bad ratings, let me explain why I give this a 2/5.The game itself is good. The game mechanics, music, mini games are pretty much an improvement from the first game. No question that its a polished game. That is what is good about this game. If you want LAD7 but with better improvements, then yes, its a good game. Now the cons: Firstly, whats up with Sega and the DLC. I bought the standard base game. Didnt know about the NG+ thing. Imagine you cant complete some steam achievement because it hides behind some DLC stuff. Not only I cant get NG+, there is another steam achievement that is locked, i.e some new dungeon, and yes, you are paying roughly $20 for NG+ and a new dungeon.... what....That aside, the story is good until the end. As much as Yakuza6 story was wacked af, its ending is better than this ending.Lastly, some ppl like the mini games. I like LAD7 kart ride. I like LAD business money making. I dont like Dondoko Island ( its grindy and super long ) and I dont like the simplicity of Sujimon. I know they added more mini games but the quality imo isnt as good as others. So yeah, thats how I feel about this game. If its discounted, then its worth picking it up.

The more games you have played from the Yakuza series, the better this one is. This is the 8th mainline title in the Yakuza series but there's also spinoffs made by RGG studio that should be played too. I have been looking for a good copy of the next installment of the Like a Dragon series (otherwise known as Yakuza, since it's technically Yakuza 8.) The seller sent this to me in a reasonable timeframe and it was worth every penny at a more reasonable price than most stores. Definitely recommend this seller just for the quality of the product. The game is a joy in itself, like going to an amusement park from the comfort of your couch. Among all open world games that usually feel like a chore, this takes a more efficient approach, where although the world is smaller, all the content normally far beyond your reach is in a more pleasant distance that makes every corner of the bustling environments feel alive as opposed to being deprived of fun. You continue the story of Ichiban Kasuga, where after an unexpected twist in his life, winds up in the far off coast region of Hawaii. Ifthat weren't strange enough, he also encounters a certain familiar face known to the Yakuza franchise, the Man with No Name himself. He'll be joining you in a journey of both thrilling battles and good laughter. This game is a blast to partake in, filled with all sorts of epic turn based battles that don't feel grindy and more of a fun packed thrill ride, especially as you go on in the story, unlocking all sorts of unlockables, summons and classes to diversify your play style. This game is a joy for me as a guy who has owned the entirety of the Yakuza series and serves as a great sequel for those who've only played Like a Dragon. As an avid open world enthusiast, this is a great addition to your collection, and worth the play. I highly recommend it.

Masterpiece If You’re a Fan Of the Yakuka Series
10 August 2024

Oh how the Yakuza series and spinoff games are one of my favorite IPs there is. If you’re a fan of the Yakuza games, then just take that formula, a fantastic turn based JRPG on top and what you have is another masterpiece of a game. There is still so many side missions and then other side things you can do. You can not even touch a mission and lose 8-10 hours easily. I’m pushing about 150 hours on this game and I don’t want to beat it because it is just that good. Absolute must have for Yakuza fans.

This is a super funny game with incredible numbers of mini games and interesting combat. If you never played Like a Dragon series but heard it several times, this is a great chance to know this series. This time Ichiban and his friends went to Hawaii. This is a brand new map in the series. There is still 2 classic map in Japan as well. I really like the Dondoku Island gameplay. It looks like the Animal Crossing, but still slightly different from that. I spent about 50 hours on the island. It’s a really time-killer.The only disadvantage is the main story. The beginning of the game is too slow. But in the last two chapter, it turns to be really fast. Beside this, the game tells a good story and attracts me a lot. RGG Studios kills it everytime

What happens when you make a game about middle-aged larpers wanting to be heroes ofnthe world and combine it with fully robust Pokemon and Animal Crossing games? You get Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. RGG is asking for $70 and its worth every dollar. The main story is wonderful and throughout your visit to multiple fleshed out locations, youll have the opportunity to experience a ton of other game types depending on what fits your fancy. I took a 20 hour break from the main story to play around with their version of Animal Crossing and I cant stop. Before that I spent 15 hours running through the city challenging their version of Pokemon masters. I can’t say enoygh hood stuff about Infinite Wealth. Honestly, if you have any interest in Japanese culture, enjoy JRPGs ... MoreWhat happens when you make a game about middle-aged larpers wanting to be heroes ofnthe world and combine it with fully robust Pokemon and Animal Crossing games? Review of PLAYSTATION Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - PS5
20 April 2024

This game has so much going on, it’s incredible value for money. The side quests are often crazy, unique and fun. I love the turn-based combat which has lots of little improvements from the previous game Yakuza: Like a Dragon. You can play in English, or Japanese with subtitles. The setting in Hawaii is excellent - a breath of fresh air for the series. It’s a game of two halves and if like me you haven’t played the older games, the trip down memory lane for one of the characters probably won’t have much impact and may feel a bit of a slog. The directional sound can be a bit off when little sound bites from the characters play, but otherwise the sounds of the city as you walk around are excellent in surround sound.Overall my game of the year so far.

The best entry of Yakuza / Like a Dragon
27 February 2024

This is the real swansong of Kiryu Kazuma. Forget about the disappointing Yakuza 6 and its ending. Finally, the Dragon of Dogima gets the game finale that he deserved as he passed the torch of the series to Ichiban. I’m so happy to see so many cameos from past entries appeared again in the side stories such as the hostess Yuki and Koyuki, Kaoru (Kiryu’s lover) from Yakuza 2, and so many others. Compared to Like a Dragon 7, this one triumphs over its predecessor!

This game is kind of like Game of Thrones. It's confusing in the beginning then gets real good, but then the ending feels rushed and unsatisfying. I've played Yakuza 0-6, Like a Dragon, Like a Dragon Gaiden, Ishin and Lost Judgement 1/2 w/ Kaito Files. All of these games have had thorough stories for the most part and/or at least showed respect to the suppprting/main cast as far as closing off central storylines. This game somehow feels very inconsequential especially with the stakes placed infront of us. Stuff just happens. Fans of the series know that every scene and character arc has to be dramatized as that's the recipe that has us hooked. And although this game has it in spurts, it doesn't stay the course and it ends on a whimper. I personally thought Like a Dragon Gaiden (prequel) had a better ending than IW, but a weaker base game storyline in the beginning. But I feel its better to start weak and end strong. IW does the opposite. I completed Kaito Files (Lost Judgment 2 dlc) post IW completion and was shocked how much better this games story was....gor a side character at that. IW suffers from having too many characters and storyline going on at once. The gameplay is still as good as the first, but the minigames are not as good intersting as the first. Prefered Yakuza cart racing and boxing from Like a Dragon 1 than this games Animal crossing rip off and bootletlg pokemon game. Even with these complaints, this is a very good game.

Yakuza travels to Hawaii
26 June 2024

To me, Yakuza and Like a Dragon are like brother. They share similar sense of humor, fun side activities and such. The biggest difference is the combat: Yakuza is more smashing buttons (real time) while Like a Dragon is more paused (turn based so you better think a bit on what you want to do)... so not everybody will like bothIn my case, I LOVE THEM... and Infinite Wealth is bigger, better and funnier than ever before. You can spend hours with side quests or discovering what the map has to offer... even you can just enjoy the mini games for months but you better play the story line too, as it's fun and worthy to spend your time and money
