I will start with positives first, the yarn is very soft, I love the colors, the yarn doesnt fray much at all when crocheting. But I did have a few issues. Parts of the yarn feel harder and look like it was flattened. (Photo below) and there was a section that was super frayed. Also thankfully I was able to finish my project before I reached the section that was tied together. Which I have no idea why that was done? If you cant put together the full length of the yarn maybe sell them in smaller sections. But overall I had a good time using this yarn. Not sure its worth 12$ with how many issues it has and I'm still unsure if I would purchase again.

I bought three skeins of Ice Cream Yarn by Lion Brand to make a baby blanket. The first and second skeins were okay; however, I encountered several knots and there was a stain in the middle of my work. Thankfully, I used a stain-removing spray and washed my blanket which came out clean. Next time, check for stains before purchasing.

Yes, my tags say “GRAMPAMADE.” I’m a 66-year-old GrandFATHER who has been knitting since my mother taught me when I was six. I have continued that passion for knitting for five grandsons and three granddaughters, knowing LION BRAND ICE CREAM was the perfect choice for this dress. It knit up nicely, the colors are beautiful (so is she), and the yardage was accurate. I LOVE Lion Brand and can always count on it to ROAR!

A friend wanted a yellow baby blanket and honestly I was scared. I saw this yarn and color and thought it was my best shot. Yarn was easy to work with and the blanket turned out 1000% better than I could ever imagine. Now it's one of my favorite makes.
I prefer the “big scoop” skeins, but got the grape as little skeins because I couldn’t find it in a big skein. I ordered a three skein bundle and received the same dye lot on all three. Took away a star because the thickness varies through the skein. Could be more consistent. Made a lovely blanket.
I ordered ten skeins of this yarn because I was going to make a bedspread for myself. I got them yesterday and love the color and the softness of it. But.... I spent better than two hours going through each skein looking for an end of the yarn so I could start. Never did find one until I took it all apart and started rolling a ball like we used to have to before companies put the end where it could be found.... If I have to roll every skein, I will and I'll make my spread, but if it comes to getting more, I'll get a solid color to suit and put the varigated part in the middle. I won't be ordering this again, no matter how pretty the colors. I've never been so disappointed in a product and I've been buying from Joann's for many years.
I was looking for a soft, light-weight, yarn to crochet a big floor blanket for my granddaughter. I loved the look of these colors on line, but they did not blend well. It just looked like I was using mis-matched yarn. Additionally, the yarn worked up stiff, not soft. I returned it and purchased another brand. I have never used this brand, so I was excited to try it. Probably won't get it again.

I've made multiple projects with Lion Brand Ice Cream yarns. Using a smaller that recommended hook, they make a delightfully striped plush toy. Following suggested hook size, a soft and cuddly baby blanket. The texture was a relief for my hands and paired well with other yarns. I did find that it was easier to avoid tangles if the skeins were left in one place and not toted about or squished. I'll definitely pick some up again if given the excuse to.
I've purchased this yarn in several colors. It's makes BEAUTIFUL baby blankets. It works up quickly, is very easy to use and you can mix and match the colors - See 2nd picture. I will continue to use this yarn every chance I get. I purchased this yarn on sale - a bargain!
