Mandala fans rejoice! Lion Brand is adding yet another cake to the Mandala collection. Mandala Ombré's color changes are more subtle than the original: each color gradually blends into the other in both tonal and multi-coloured versions. The printing technique allows for some of the cream yarn base to show through, creating a hand-dyed, artisanal effect. Mandala Ombré is slightly thicker than the original, spun with multiple plies of premium acrylic, which give it the look and feel of merino at a fraction of the cost.

This is my favorite yarn to work with. It's very soft, rarely splits and the few times it has was due to the hook I was using and not the fault of the yarn. The colors are beautiful. It is somewhat "slippery", for lack of a better word, so I highly recommend making a small swatch to get the feel of it prior to starting a project. Once you know how it behaves it's super easy to use. I have noticed that some cakes are considerably different in the amount of colors, for instance, in the 3 pk I'm currently using 1 ball was mostly the blues with just a very small amount of the pinks between the 2 main blue sections and another was the opposite with mostly the pinks. This is not an issue for what I'm making but may be for someone else. It seems to be slightly on the thin ... MoreThis is my favorite yarn to work with. Depending on what you're making you may be more comfortable using a 4.5 or 5 mm hook. Again I highly recommend making a swatch to check what hook works best for what you're wanting to make. The throw that's pictured all in blue made with the colorway harmony has already been in the laundry and it washed and dried just fine, washed in cold and dried on cool.

I’ve tried this yarn a few times. Each time I’m hopeful, and each time I’m disappointed.Don’t get me wrong, this yarn is incredibly soft and squishy, and the colours are gorgeous! However, the cakes are a nightmare. They’re not wound particularly well - probably something to do with the tension - and so as soon as either the label is removed or you get a centre pull underway, the cake disintegrates if you move it at all. I thought I just had bad luck but it’s kept happening, and the latest one just took me three hours to untangle, even once I’d cut out the worst of the knots. An absolute nightmare, and I don’t think I’m ever going to purchase this damned yarn again!

Sometimes you just find a Yarn that glides through your fingers and around your hook, and then looks perfect when it's all worked up. This is that fabric. An absolute pleasure to work with looks amazing worked up and those colours just bring my life now the days are getting shorter. Highly recommended!

I bought this yarn for my first crochet cardigan projects. I don't know where to start but everything about this yarn I just loved. I never used Lion Brand yarn before. The color combs are amazing, the quality of the yarn is superb. There is no loose end no tangling. It gives the smooth effect on the cardi and the final outcome is beyond anything. Everyone appraised it and the full credit goes to this yarn. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. And definitely I will look forward to use it again for my next project.
Love this product. This is a warm, soft acrylic yarn that doesn't feel sticky and overheat you when made into a garment. Even after many washes the yarn does not start to shed or loose its shape.
I bought 6 cakes of this yarn in the color Joy. I really love the colors and the softness of the yarn. It's lovely! However, there are flaw with these cakes. In the 6 cakes I bought, four of them had knots which then threw off the sequencing of the colors requiring me to cut apart the yarn. And I had to buy extra yarn because I was missing too many of one specific color, which would have caused issues with the striping of the sweater I am making.
I bought this yarn (in the Harmony colorway) last weekend for a hexagon cardigan. It's so soft and pretty. I had one small tangle at the beginning of my skein (I center pull), but it's been smooth sailing since then. It doesn't fuzz (like regular Mandala yarns tend to do). It's a weight 4 yarn, but on the thinner side, similar to Pound of Love.I paired the Mandala yarn with Big Twist (in Varsity Navy) for the pictured cardigan.
Ugly in person. Extremely dark and nothing's liked the pictures. I may have been unlucky and received three cakes that have the most horrible dark red in over half of the cake. Wanted to use it for a baby blanket but unfortunately none of my friends are goths.
I enjoy this yarn and have made several projects with it, including small blankets and scarves. It launders very well. I have used all but 3 color ways and love the variegation and pretty colors.
In total bought 24 balls to make a crochet waffle stitch blanket, mail order. My first order i got 20 balls. All ball were the same lot numbers. I panicked and got four more just to make sure i have enough yarn. Two have total different lot number. As the the quality of the yarn. It is soft and with the balls i have use so far there has been minimum break in the yarn. I do think there is better quality of yarn out there for the price of this yarn. I didn’t and I wouldn’t paid full price for this yarn.
