Recently while replacing my water pump, I broke a bolt. I kept my fingers crossed hoping that it would not leak but it did. I threw in the towel at that point and decided to call my mechanic. He came over and told me that before the broken bolt could be removed, he would have to lift the entire engine block and then either "Tap it Out" or simply drill it out, explaining that the difficult angle and the need to be extra cautious to not damage the block warranted that. I called several local shops and the minimum I was quoted was $800, parts and labor, to remove the pump again, drill out the broken bolt, restore the gasket and reinstall the pump. $800? Where was I going to get that kind of money??? I cleared the path to the Water pump and removed it once again to get ... MoreRecently while replacing my water pump, I broke a bolt. I cleared the path to the Water pump and removed it once again to get a closer look at my mistake; it is true as it has been said that the worst thing you could ever do is give up in any situation. I started researching bolt removal and came across Lisle Bolt removal. I tapped it on one morning, turned the wrench and the $%#$% bolt came out so very easily. This is the most amazing product for the removal of a bolt if its just a broken head and you can clearly see the remaining portion sticking out; caution, be sure not to wear the thread; don't panic; just buy this and follow instructions.

These are more durable than my chrome Blue Point e-torx set. And as far as I know, Snap-On doesn't make impact e-torx sets. If they did, I bet it'd cost $150.I mostly use the E-12 w/ a Snap-On Universal joint, two 18" Snap-On wobble plus extensions, and a Milwaukee stubby impact wrench in certain BMW transmission Bell-Housing bolts. It's like repeatedly hitting the easy button all day, and wondering what guys had to do in the past. The only thing I'm unclear on is how the warranty works with Lisle, as in I haven't looked into it. Also the rubber socket holder fell apart on me, but that's no biggie. The quality of the sockets are outstanding, and that's what matters. A year and a half later and those suckers are still rocking.

I bought these for my timing chain project on my Mini. Sockets fit snug, no flash or tool marks noticed. The smaller sockets are slightly tough to remove from the rubber carrier. Carrier is good at holding the sockets together. Non have fallen out. Used with Craftsman ratchets and torque wrench.

Nice quality set, smallest 4 sockets are 1/4" drive, middle four are 3/8" drive and biggest pair are 1/2" drive. Casting is nice and smooth, black finish has a quality look to it. Price point is right on for what you'd expect to spend on a seldom used, but indespensable tool. When you need E-torx, nothing else will suffice. Rubber socket holder is a nice addition, due to the mixed drive sizes finding a socket rail would be near impossible. Best of all, made in America.
Had seen these on a tool truck for quite a bit more for the Lisle brand. I figured I would come on here and buy them because I was on a tight budget for tools but I needed them working at a Honda/Toyota dealership. I was surprised to learn they were also used on tons of cars that weren't foreign. I have used these on my impact gun as well and they hold up nicely under stress. Have not rounded any bolts off yet and the teeth inside the socket look great!
There are plenty of chinese alternatives on here for less money. I'm sure they work great, but I ALWAYS will pay the extra money for Made in USA! Lisle makes great specialty tools. Can't go wrong with their quality and warranty.
Lisle 26750 Torx Socket Set is the best buy on the internet for those who work on their own German vehicle and probably all the sizes you will need. The first socket I bought (Stahlwille 40TX-E10) cost twice as much as this whole set and these are quality sockets. Actually I bought a cheap set first and they didn't fit properly and were mismatched. Buy these and you will never regret it. I have no affiliation and was not paid for this review.
Bought this since I needed a E8 bit to work on a Mercedes Benz (it seems to use these e-torx everywhere). The socket fit very well. I later learned that 12-point 1/4" wrench/socket also works for E8 (which was good since I needed to use box and combination wrenches to get access as well, and I did not have specialty e-torx wrenches). The same 'trick' works for other sizes but I do like to have the 'right' socket. The Lisle 26750 set Includes E6/7/8 (1/4" drive) and E10/12/14/16 (3/8" drive), and it is made in USA. Just a few dollars more than a set from discount importer store and I think it was worth it.I really like the vinyl pouch for storage since it is very compact.I also considered buying Lisle set 26280 which also has E5 and E18/20 but I chose this set ... MoreBought this since I needed a E8 bit to work on a Mercedes Benz (it seems to use these e-torx everywhere). Very solid socket set. Although a little pricier than, I bought this set because it was: made in the US, came with a vinyl socket holder, and had the E20 socket, which the cheaper sets did not include. All in all, very satisfied with purchase. So far, have only used it a few times to to remove and reinstall torx screws in cars, but works fine.
The fit and operation is just as one would hope. The problem was when I was looking at the side trying to find a particular size. They stamp that in and it was SO FAINT that I had to get a bright light and a magnifying glass to read it!. I have another set of Torx drivers made by Lisle (the regular INTERNAL type) and they do NOT have this problem. They are also black and have the size stamped on very legibly. I imagine that this isn't going to be big problem since most of the time you just find the socket that fits an ETorx bolt rather than looking for a specific size.I bought this set because it had the widest range of sizes. I run into ETorx very rarely, but like to be prepared. I was taking the front seat out of my Saturn and found that it had ETorx! bolts ... MoreThe fit and operation is just as one would hope. Just like the one on the other set, it seems to be very tough and will last a long time.
