I purchased a three step Jumbo ladder (11903), in Australia today from a local dealer. Very impressed with the quality and functionality - with one exception. When the step ladder is folded down for storage, it seems to have a mind of its own; it keeps trying to open up. This gets very frustrating when trying to carry it from one place to another. I almost smashed a glass door on a wardrobe because the ladder suddenly opened up when I picked it up to carry it. I am very disappointed that no-one it seems had the foresight to include a simple locking mechanism of some sort when the ladder is collapsed. Am I missing something or do I continue to lash the legs together to transport it?

I have this 4 Jumbo Step Ladder.....It is worth every penny of its purchase price. I am in my 60's and will not be without it again. Cleaning ceiling fans and reaching above cabinets are so much easier and safer now that I have this life saver. I highly recommend it! It's a dream come true. Why aren't all ladders made with wide steps? They would be so much safer for all ages and much better for feet.

I am 74 and fell off a different three-step ladder with narrow steps when decorating Christmas items in the house. When I saw this ladder with its wide steps and perfect pitch, I had to buy it -- and glad I did. I didn't fall off it when dedecorating the inside and I felt very secure. The ladder is light to carry, but extremely stable due to the wide rubber feet. The extension support is at the right height and the tool tray is permanently attached with plenty of tool storage area.

Great ladder!I have a few medical issues and have difficulty using a ladder - mainly because of trying to maintain balance while standing on thin rungs (and as a result ladders have always been my enemy:), but the wider steps and handrail have made all the difference to me.It's less of a step ladder, and more of a portable set of stairs with a handrail!
I am a kitchen designer and this is the one step ladder I recommend to all of my vertically challenged clients :) The tread steps mean that carrying a stack of unwieldy platters up to the top cabinet above the fridge is a breeze. It slides in neatly wherever you can work in a 6" filler. Easy to deploy and the handle is great for reaching back to get that last object in the far back of the cabinet.
My ceilings are 9' and the 4 step "jumbo step ladder" rocks. The wide steps relieve foot fatigue. Easy set up and takedown. The upper safety bar has small tray which is great size. Inside the house, this is my goto ladder.(Note: I also own the standard ladder and the Titan)
It looked good on the reviews but it is even better than I expected. The gentle angle and wide treads make climbing up and down more like using stairs. I really like the added stability provided by the foldable safety rail when standing on the top step. If you are an old bloke like me, don't persevere with using traditional ladders, the consequences of falling off are too great. I have given away my old ladders. Having the Little Giant means I can safely do those small maintenance jobs around the house but even so I never use it when home alone.
I have both the Little Giant Jumbo Step Latters. I have a 3 step and a 4 step. I bought the 3 step 4yrs ago and liked it so much I bought the 4 step Latter in Jan-2024. I have one upstairs one downstairs. They are so easy to store and use. I'm 67 yrs. old and I'm tired caring Latters up and down stairs. I highly recommend these Latters very lite weight.
The unit folds up into a very small package to tuck between two cabinets for storage. It is well designed and constructed.It takes a bit of practice to learn how to move it gracefully, for example while progressing down a wall during painting, but it is lighter than it looks.The version with wheels is probably easier to move, although heavier.
As with other reviews, no locking mechanism and it starts to collapse when moving the step stool. Make a retro fit lock and then maybe 5 stars. Thought the wider steps would be helpful and they are, but the other 2 and 3 step stools we have are much easier to use and easy to hang on a garage wall. This one has to lean on the wall or turn it upside down or sideways to hang.
