The Little Live Pets Mama Surprise toy set is so cute. It comes with it own "home" or hutch with doors that open and shut. You have to nurture the mama guinea pig by taking care of it- holding it, patting it and when the heart lights up, it's time for the babies to come and mama goes back into her hutch. There are interactive sounds to make the toy seem real and lots of accessories. Once the process is all done you can repeat it over and over. I appreciate that this is not a one and done toy. My daughter likes to show all her friends when they come over for play dates. Super cute and cuddly. Definitely a great first step into helping to educate kids about caring for pets while having fun.

Our family love Guinea Pigs and when I saw this I knew that my daughter and even my son would enjoy playing with the toy.I was quite surprised at how large the cage was, I was expecting it to be smaller but the Mama Guinea Pig is actually an accurate representation of a life size Guinea Pig, well similar to ours anyway.Contained within the box was the hutch with carry handle, hairbrush, Guinea Pig and 3 babies, celery, paper bedding and care booklet.The toy requires AAA batteries which are not provided and three of these are inserted just under the handle to the top of the hutch and the other three are inserted into the Mama Guinea Pig by the feet area. There are two settings that the babies can arrive within 2 days on normal mode or you can speed it up by changing the option to the top of the hutch to fast and the babies will arrive within 30 minutes.Each baby arrives with a birth certificate and accessory.This is a lovely idea as you have to care for the Guinea Pig by feeding it, stroking it and generally caring for it. There are 20 sounds and when the heart starts to glow it is time to put the Mama pig back into the cage and shut the doors to reveal her baby.My daughter loved that she could replicate how we care for our Guinea Pigs with the added surprise of babies.The magic could be repeated over and over by placing the babies back in the top of the hutch again and you can mix and match the accessories choosing, Princess, Preppy or Rock Star looks.This is a fun toy that due to the carry handle on the hutch can be easily transported and played with outside the home.

It’s very easy to set up and I really liked that you can choose at what speed you want the babies to appear either every 15 minutes or the first one after 15 min and the following 2 after 10 hours. We chose to wait 10 hours. Not sure how patient kids younger would be but you can choose the fast setting for them. You can also pop the babies back into the storage and do it all over again. The mummy has 20 different sound effects, one of which is when you feed her and another when you stroke her.
