Wow, I didn’t realize how cheap this slide would be. I appreciate the easy set up, but it scratched so easily as I was snapping it together, so put it together outside on grass and not in a garage. It’s very light weight, extremely, hopefully it’ll hold my toddler safely…if I didn’t put gift cards towards this purchase then I would return it upon seeing how cheap and light weight it is, what happened to the thick sturdy little tike slides?!

My son loves this slide, he’s 19 months and doesn’t want to climb the ladder which is a pain for me and my husband because he wants to climb up the slide and I’m afraid he’s going to fall so we have to swoop in and pick him up and put him at the top. So we constantly do that and I got this because he was using my legs as a “human slide” which is fine but then after him wanting to do that 10 times and then some, I would be so tired... and now we have to pick him up a million times so it didn’t really help matters but at least he’s having fun and that’s all we wanted! :)As far as the handles go, my husband put this together and he said that the handles were the only parts that gave him a problem. But he says it’s probably like that so it doesn’t come apart. But he says it’s probably like that so it doesn’t come apart. He says you just have to keep pushing it hard until it pops into place. Honestly I would worry if it were easy to put on and take off because that’s probably going to cause an accident for your child. But I can assure you- they’re on and they’re not going anywhere which means that they are the right handles and they do match the product. Just be patient....I know this is meant to be used outdoors, but we can’t do that at the moment because we don’t have a fenced in yard so we use it inside and I wish that they made it for outdoor and indoor- only downside of this is how much it slides on the wooden floors. Wish there were grippers on it but oh well! We put it on his puzzle mat when we bring it out and it stays put! That’s the only reason it’s got 4 stars. That and I wish it held more weight cause watching my son makes me wish I could slide on it too! Lol

This is a nice slide with easy storage. it is not foldable but u can take the slide and the ladder apart to store in the closet. it's easyto wipe clean. it is not as sturdy as some other slides out there so it is important to monitor the play. my 2 and 4 yr old like to stand on top of the slide and do all sorts of tricks to give my heart a good exercise. I meant to leave it in the yard but it was raining on the day I brought it home so it ended up in the middle of the living room. overall, pretty satisfied with my purchase.

We needed something for my 17 month old ninja to climb, but climbers are expensive. I finally grabbed this during the toy sale and am so pleased! The steps are textured so they are not slippery, which I am so happy about as I only let my daughter use this in socks. She puts her feet down flat when she slides down, so without socks her feet catch and she winds up tumbling face first. With socks she is great at using this without mommy holding her, and she hasn't slipped on the ladder at all. She does stand on the ladder and pull back to make the slide pop up a bit, but she is definitely not heavy enough to tip it back 23 lbs), and it seems really stable side to side. The bottom lip is nice and low so she can't bang her head on the bottom. It does have a 40 lb weight ... MoreWe needed something for my 17 month old ninja to climb, but climbers are expensive. The bottom lip is nice and low so she can't bang her head on the bottom. It does have a 40 lb weight limit, so big brother couldn't use it, and she'll have to take turns when her cousin comes, which is probably a good idea anyway. It is not what I would call "collapsible," so not the right choice if you need easy storage. For this price, I am very happy. We use indoors on carpet.
We bought this for our 18mo granddaughter. I never read the reviews before purchase, but I know kids toys don't last in the marketplace if they're dangerous. I also failed to read directions because assembly was painfully obvious. I knew nothing of others complaints and bad ratings because of issues with the handles and weight. When I put the pieces together, I noticed the handles were a tight fit, which is a good thing. They cannot be casually set up there and be expected to function. A person need to be slightly smarter than the tools they work with. it was obvious the hook goes to the front and needed to go in first, then the back lined up and pushed in, then a sharp smack with the hand to seat it. I appreciated the difficulty assembling the handles because I know they're in to stay.As far as the wobbliness, it's an inexpensive lightweight toy for little ones that's easy to move & store, and a child should always be supervised until old enough to comprehend physics (and accept consequences). They design and materials are all I would expect of it and it fits it's purpose perfectly. If someone wants a heavy duty playground piece, then maybe they should step up and pay for it instead of asking miracles from this fun little slide.
I really like the Little Tykes first Slide. It took me less than three minutes to put the slide together without any tools needed for assembly. Wich was awesome because as soon as my toddler saw the box he was jumping around like a kangaroo. The height and sturdiness are great for a two and a half year old. However when it was delivered they literally slammed the box down on my porch. When the slide came out of the box it already had two indentations of bent plastic on the slide, wich I was obviously not happy about. Nevertheless in the past couple weeks it's paid for itself in joy. Cars go sliding down first then an energetic toddlerEspecially during this pandemic it's an awesome investment. I agree with other reviews that mention tipping while grabbing handles for the climb and the slide itself not really allowing for a smooth glide down. My main dislike, however, is the sharp edges. I was prompted to do a 360 check after my kid scraped the top of his foot where the ladder meets the slide. After clicking the pieces into place, they don’t sit flush nor are the edges smooth. And, if your kids are like mine, they will crawl under the slide because it’s a cave and they’re hiding from indominus Rex. As such, I cleverly whipped out the masking tape to smooth over what I expected to be just a few unsafe edges. And, well…the slide ended up looking like a patched up second hand plaything. See photos.
The plastic doesn’t fit. I’ve put these slides together before, and it just takes a couple minutes. On this slide, the steps don’t fit into the slide. I’ve cut and bruised my hand trying to get the steps in. The rest of my family has tried too. I finally got the handles in at least. It’s still not put together, and I’m very frustrated. My poor 3 year old was excited to use her slide, and I don’t want to have to return it.
This an okay slide. When I bought it my little boy was 14 months old. He could climb up the ladder easily enough but if you notice there will s no safe place to stand up and sit down with legs in front. There is also nothing for a child to grab onto to steady themselves as they stand then sit. It makes for some scary moments while you stand very near hoping your child is able to climb stand and sit without support on a two foot high plastic slide. He can do it fine now that he’s 18months old but parents be prepared to be right there closely supervising every second. Otherwise buy a slide with a little spot for the child to arrange themselves sit and scoot forward onto the slide.
I brought this item on a black Friday sale when my baby was 1 and just opened this Christmas. The slide has a tear on the side and Little Tikes refuses to replace it and the purchased store policy was only 6 months from date of purchase. Poor customer service for such a normal kid friendly company. I have spent hundreds on all of their products but am now reconsidering further purchases. This was my 19-month old's first slide.
