After using the standard white Teflon tape on an airline fitting and having it leak, I tried this Loctite thread sealant and found that is very easy to apply and stops all air leaks immediately. - - Hiint: Buy this larger tube rather than the "Sample size", you will be glad that you did.

Called for by engine assembly procedure. Does it work? Many say it does and no visible leaks so far. I was please to get it at a great price via the "used" offering. So far any of the "refurb" stuff I have gotten from Home Essentials Direct (itself) have been more than adequate, so I would hesitate only briefly to continue buying when available.

I have used this sealant for years!! It seals under many adverse situations with loose and worn threads. Eases threading of fittings and has a long set-up time. I have used this sealant in Many different applications!!! I have used it for many types of high pressure gases up to 250 psi. I have used it on water and air. I have used it with black iron , cast iron, Brass,PVC, CPVC and stainless (all grades). It seals very well and eventually sets up semi hard. It can be dis-assembled, but it is a little stiffer than regular teflon, teflon tape, pipe dope etc. Easier than sealant used for steam applications. I have not used this with steam!! Works fine on fittings for water heaters!!. Coat all around the threads evenly and wipe off any excess on the ends or inside the ... MoreI have used this sealant for years!! I used this along with Loctite Klean 'N Prime on an oil sender unit. That is a high temp pressurized oil connection. Loctite 567 nor Permatex Thread Sealant with Teflon from NAPA did not hold up. Suggestions: Follow the instructions to the letter. Be sure the surfaces are clean dry and primed. Allow it to cure 72 hours for maximum strength. Klean 'N Prime may be required to correctly activate the 592 on aluminum and will for sure hasten the cure process.
It's easy to apply and will prevent fittings from vibrating loose causing a leak. This is the greatest pipe thread sealant ever made.
This stuff is great for any threads that are applied to oil connections on a motorcycle. Highly recommended. Goes on easily around the threads. It can be a tight fit if applied to the start of a thread application so it's recommended to have this applied towards the end. I used this for the installation of a Jagg Oil Cooler and it worked as it should. The instructions of the Jag Oil Cooler include the use of this thread sealant. No leaks and no complaints. I also recently applied to the end of the oil drain plug after an oil change to ensure there would be no leaks and it worked great. Of course the oil drain plug o-ring was still there so this was applied to the threads just before the o-ring. The o-ring has a tad bit of new oil put on it.
Used properly and for the correct application, this stuff is awesome! Works perfectly without activator for brass fittings and other "active" surfaces such as iron, copper, bronze, and soft steel. *Requires* activator for "inactive" surfaces such as stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium, zinc, titanium and others. Definitely worth heading over to Loctite's website and reading the "Do It Right" PDF for automotive applications. Tons of great info on how to achieve the best results with a variety of Loctite products as well as product selection guidance among the various formulas.
Works very well. We used this for a water heater in our camper van. A few of the connections are to send engine coolant to the water heater so very hot. No leaks. And it smells delightful.
i used this sealant on my new fuel system components, and it was recommended by the product manufacturer. it seals pretty well. i am satisfied. but it seems to not fully dry in place, so if you touch it for any adjustments, have a rag ready to wipe off the parts and your fingers.
