Really good pan good for cooking was looking for a small Cast Iron Skillet. Most places had the large one and this one was just right. Only problem was the handle was not coated for heat resistance and you will need a pot holder for the handle. Otherwise good pan.

I've used this Lodge so many times to make an oven cornbread Tamale Pie type dinner for my husband and myself, served with a salad. I crock pot the Tamale mixture all day, next day I soup ladle two scoops into quart freeze zip lock bags (dinner for two) freeze all of the bags then when I need one, I make a cornbread and bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes. and serve with a salad., with my busy schedule it works. I have several Lodge Cast Irons. I just purchased and reviewed their Dutch Oven 6.5 Qt. Porcelain Enamel, they are out of stock now, what a great buy that was @ $48.00 , so impressed, ordered another one good bye Le Creuset, your on the back Pantry Shelf now. This is overall a great skillet

Arrived without damage. Very little sticking when cooking meat if you preheat on low (glass top stove), keep it on low, and then add a bit of oil. Produces a good searing on almost the entire surface of a steak. Hand washes easily with hot water and a drop of Dawn. Stores well if you towel try completely and immediately. I run a drop of oil onto the cooking surface and then wipe it with a paper towel to remove excess oil, while leaving a slight shine on the surface to protect the iron. Just note that cast iron is heavy and wear an oven mitt when touching the handle. I like that it’s made in USA and oven safe. 8” is a good size for cooking one person quantities of food. Cast iron is a lot heavier than other materials.

I love cooking with these pans, and I only wish Lodge would polish the cooking surface of the pans. Maybe that’s why they are so affordable. I only scrape my pans with the special Lodge scrapers, then I add coarse salt and rub the pan surface with a paper towel to remove anything left. If necessary, I lightly rinse the pan with water without scrubbing, dry it right away, and coat it with oil inside and outside to prevent any rust. We are basic cookers in this house, and all we use is 4 Lodge pans (3 deferent size skillets, and 1 flat griddle) and 4 stainless steel (2 pots/2 skillets). Every other pot is collecting dust unless we get visitors. Highly recommend these pans!
Bought this for my mum for Mother's Day as she's always wanted a cast iron skillet. Is a great skillet for those who haven't used one before. Is so convenient that it is pre-seasoned, although we did season it ourselves too before using.Super fast deliver too. I initially ordered the wrong size but the in-store team that helped swap it to the right size were really helpful.I was tossing up between this one or a Victoria skillet, but am glad I went with Lodge.
I love this skillet. It's smaller than my previous flimsy flea-market cast-Iron skillet. I like that. One person doesn't need a skillet as large as the stove top. I made my fried chicken meal in it. Nothing stuck. I am going to order a larger pot so I can deep fry my chicken. It is a nice heavyweight skillet but not too heavy. It isn't flimsy like my flea market cast-Iron skillet. I will be ordering lots more items from Lodge. I'm making a list. The Lodge skillets are like the ones my grandma used. I can't wait to make a meatloaf in my Lodge skillet. I can't say enough good things about Lodge cast-Iron skillets. I highly recommend Lodge cast-Iron skillets. My nephew likes the new Lodge skillets Lodge is worth 10 stars. I have one coming with the duck design on the bottom. Very nice skillets.
My last cast iron skillet was acquired used. It was slightly warped and having a smooth cooktop range, only the middle had constant contact. This was not a problem until I started making English Muffins. This skillet is beautifully flat and came seasoned. I particularly like the extra handle opposite the regular handle. It adds more control when lifting the heavy pan. There is nothing like a cast iron skillet. All kitchens should have one, Just be sure to heat it up and cool it down slowly in order to prevent warping. Farm and Fleet delivered it to my door quickly and easily. An excellent purchase.
Day 1 awesome skillet. Even though they sell it seasoned, I only trust myself to do the seasoning. Two reasons: 1) as the skillet hangs on store shelves, it's unknown how clean the surface is. even if the factory seasons it, it can still technically oxidize a little bit. 2) they glue the label on the worst spot! good grief! when you get the pan home your first chore is removing that sticky glue. After removing that glue the spots where it was on will be rougher. so i just used some soap, water and soft side of the sponge to clean it. Then i evaporated the water on the stove. Once it was dry, I spread a thin coat of avocado oil all over it, making sure to wipe off excess. Then it went in, upside down, to a 500F oven for 1 hour (fans on, windows open). Then I allowed it cool for 1 hour. When it was time to cook, i pre-heated for 5 minutes on medium, threw in 1 Tbsp of butter, then cracked in the egg. It fried up quickly and had no trouble sliding!! Dont be afraid to cook with butter... it's not like you're going to eat all of the butter you use for lubricating the pan. This surface was way more nonstick than previous "nonstick" ceramic pans. I hope this pan lasts me for generations.
I bought this to replace my non-stick pan because health reasons blah blah. It's about big enough to fry 3 eggs simultaneously. It does a good job, and theoretically should perform better after it's seasoned more through cooking, making it's less-stick properties more effective. So far so good. Just keep in mind the maintenance required for cast iron and the added weight.
it's a nice little pan, however, the insides pretty rough and there's a couple pitting areas. hopefully it may eventually season properly. I'll keep my fingers crossed. just expected Little bit smoother inside finish since it's a Lodge. we'll see what happens with it.
