IS IT GETTING HOT IN HERE. Is not something your lodge cast iron pan will ever say. Really great size for my apartment style kitchen - this serves a real work horse position for the pans on deck. From finishing and serving pasta - to deep frying bake goods or means the joy of the iron is the heat is throughout and stable. Using this on an electric stove and couldn't be any happier! Best skillet

The skillet is beautiful. I recommend reading the instructions! I read some said disliked because eggs stuck to bottom of pan . The directions clearly state DO NOT MAKE EGGS in this skillet. I made hamburgers and washed with hot water and a little elbow grease and came out looking brand new. I then dried and coated with oil . Love this skillet!

Frying with ease

You won’t be disappointed! I couldn’t pass up this good quality frying pan on sale. Handle can get hot, so make sure you use a pot handle or mitt. Follow instructions to season pan after each use. Easy to clean. Fried eggs slide off the pan. So much healthier than non stick.

LOVE THIS PAN!

While everyone’s looking for the “next thing” in a functional, multi-purpose pan, this one’s been around for a while. Same Lodge quality, durability and function, this iteration offers an improved curved handle, slightly lower weight, and better curved sides. Seasoned properly and maintained it offers nonstick performance without fear of flaking or chipping, and can even go in the oven or on the grill. It has become an integral part of my kitchen, and is my go-to pan. Highly recommended.

I should have bought this a long time ago. I have the 12 inch which is just too heavy for me, especially in winter when I have issues with my fingers swelling and burning. When I first pulled this pan out I was disappointed , thinking it was too shallow. It isn't a problem at all. I've used this pan every day for 2 weeks now. It's so much more convenient., although probably not if cooking for a whole family.

The Best!

Excellent, comes pre-seasoned. Made a mistake & purchased another brand several months ago (it was cheaper), the finish started to come off when i was spreading the oil on it to season! I seasoned it in the oven & when finished rinsed it, wiped the interior with a paper towel then placed it on a gas burner low heat to thoroughly dry. Looked at the paper towel before throwing out and once again what appeared to be black paint again. The finish is definitely coming off. Will not buy that brand again!!The Lodge pans finish has not come off. Never buy cheap, the Lodge pan may be a few dollars more, but as long as you take care of it, it will probably last for generations to come.Glad I made this purchase.

Versatile piece of cookware

I find this pan is of the best size and has most uses on my gas stove in home. I can cook all kinds of meals from breakfast to dinner, from frying eggs to making vegetable stews. Its size extend the use to deep frying and grilling. I use it to grill burger meat, vegetables, asparagus... etc. Its size is good for deep frying mushrooms dipped in batter or frying a good batch of potatoe fries. I even make sandwiches using it, panini, grilled cheese, french toast. Sometimes I pop it into oven and use it as bakeware. Its size is perfect for upside down cakes, deep dish pizza, corn bread or Dutch baby... This pan has good weight to preheat well and bake evenly on stovetop or in oven. IMO, highly recommended as the first piece of cookware for anyone who wants to become a home chef. Just a reminder : This pan comes well pre-seasoned but requires a bit of tendering after. The easiest way to keep it in best cooking condition is to clean out the debris under a running tap while it's still warm then wiped dry or dried on a hot stovetop after cooking; wip the entire interior clean using a piece of lightly oiled paper towel when the pan is heated up before cooking. That's it and it's quality is guaranteed to last one's lifetime or generations. Best investment I made ever. Last but not least: If one gets tired of indoor cooking, the investment is preserved by taking it to other cooking occasions such as tailgate party, camping or just backyard. Its ruggedness makes it a good piece of cookware regardless of gas, bed of hot coals or just barbecue grills.

Very good pan

I bought this pan a few months ago. So far I have used it to make cornbread, steaks and all kinds of fish fillets. It works wonderfully! Do keep in mind that this pan requires light maintenance. You have to wash it while the pan is still warm, use warm soapy water. If something has gotten a little stuck, I add a small amount of dish detergent and warm water and leave it on for a few minutes and that has done the trick for me. I dry it almost immediately after washing it and lightly massage avocado oil on it and it’s ready for the next use. I also find it helpful that this pan is somewhat lighter than a normal cast iron pan.

amazing cast iron

I bought this a few months ago from C&B and have been using it regularly ever since. Perfect size for cooking for 2-4 people, great quality and not as heavy as my previous cast iron. I have made pizzas, pastas, pies, crumble, stir fries, you name it. I look forward to many more years with this pan. Furthermore, online order pick up from C&B was a breeze.

perfect cast iron

I was looking for a new cast iron to replace one that I've had for a while. Found this one on C&B and am so happy I bought it. The size is perfect for 2-person meals, it is sturdy and good quality (Lodge cast irons are reliable in terms of quality), and it's a bit lighter than the regular Lodge cast iron. Used it so many times already for cooking and baking. Highly recommend for a do-it-all cast iron. I ordered online for pick up in store. Pick up from Crate and Barrel was so seamless and easy! Great service.
