I’m so happy with the durability of this skillet. It’s hard to find cast iron as good as the older ones. This is shockingly great. It’s great for grilling meat, biscuits, and cornbread. The coating has not deteriorated whatsoever. It’s just as good as my grandmother used. Just DONT wash it in the dishwasher or with soap. I just wipe it down with water and then place it in the oven to dry. Water is the enemy of cast iron, you must dry thoroughly.

I never thought I would use this as much as I do! I purchased it from Costco and now use it several times a week. We leave it on top of the cooktop since it is very heavy. Since we live in New England we don't use our outdoor grill from October through April so this takes the place. We grill steaks, pork, chicken, fish and veggies. Cleanup is a breeze. Soak for a few minutes and clean with a stiff brush. No soap. You don't want to remove the seasoned layer.

Love it! My meats come out juicy and full of flavor. Ensure you follow cleaning directions. I seen comments on various sights regarding rusting. I have now used mine several times and no rusting. I wash after every used, dry with a cloth, set in stove with fire in low to finish drying, than spray with olive oil. Looks like new every time. Ensure you wash within a hour or so after use. Do not allow food to sit in pan over night.

Excellent product - good quality at a great price.

This is a very high quality cast iron grill pan. It has complete instructions, too, as to how to care for it. It seems heavier than most others I have had, but the quality of it is obvious. If one treats it well and follows washing and seasoning instructions, it is likely that it will last a good, long time.

Good quality, accommodates more than a round pan, great value.

The oils cook down to the point where the molecules act just like polymers. The more seasoning, the more solid the coating. When you wash the pan DO use liquid detergent. As long as the pan doesn't get so ridiculously hot that it turns the seasoning into ash, it will become better seasoned the more you use it.As for the pan itself, I prefer the square 10.5 inch model over the round pans. While the round pans can claim a bit more even heating, as the iron distributes the heat, this is not much of an issue - not like an aluminum pan. The square shape lets you fit more food into the pan and it works better for things like kabob. I like the pan. I later ordered the matching tempered glass lid. I'm very happy with them.

Great Grilling Pan

I purchased via online and picked it up at my local Target store. The pan is quite heavier then what I was expecting. Due to the heaviness some may need to lift the pan with both hands. However, it did an amazing job at grilling my chicken breast. The chicken had beautiful grill lines and it was moist and tender. The company provides an excellent little video here on Target’s website and app on how to use their pan to get the perfect grilled chicken.

Healthy way to cook for one or two people.

It had deep grooves which I wanted, so the food stays above grease that drips down. Working out pretty good, cooking chicken tenders and hamburger and using the skillet on a New Wave induction cook top. It had only one not so good feature, handle gets hot, I clamped some wood over it because I sometimes forgot to use oven mitten. Healthy way to cook meat especially, I coat chicken with panko, lay in skillet and drizzle some olive oil over it, cover skillet, cook 8 minutes each side at 250 degrees. Very tender. Clean skillet with screwdriver in grooves and scrape top with putty knife, drain grease, maybe not for extra neat people, still, others might live longer.

I bought this cast iron grill skillet in August. My husband both 2 strip steaks which I was too lazy to grill. I dug out the skillet, & found a recipe on YOUTUBE from Lodge Skilllet Co. I heated the skillet on medium heat, sprinkled water in it. The water vanished. I put grapeseed oil on the skillet. Seared the steaks each side for 2 minutes. Then put the skillet in the oven at 350 degrees for 4-5 minutes. Took the skillet out of the oven & let the steaks rest for 5 minutes. Those were the best tasting, juiciest, tenderest steaks I have ever tasted. My husband absolutely raved about them To clean the skillet, I ran hot water in the skillet & let it soak while the skillet was hot. I then used a cast iron skillet brush to clean it. Just what I've been looking for!

Attractive, classic, nice size grill pan. Great price, too. Used it to grill some salmon, onions and zucchini the other day. Can't wait to use it on hamburgers, hot dogs or grilled cheese sandwiches. Ridges within the pan is high enough to make the classic "grill" marks but the pan is easy enough to clean afterwards with some good quality de-greasing dish soap. Pan is a little bit on the heavy side (cast iron!) but overall, very happy with my purchase.

Left at the wrong house.

This was not left at my house. I was able to recognize the house in the picture though, and I was very lucky because my neighbors were honest enough to bring it over to me. The Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Square Grill Pan liiks very nice, and is pre seasoned. It is very heavy, which I expected. It is a Christmas gift but I am looking forward to my daughter using it. The three stars are because of delivery.
