What is not to like about a cast iron skillet. I purchased this one to round out my selection of cast iron cookware. I own stainless steel and non-stick items, but cast iron is my go-to for braising, roasting, and one-pan meals. I have used this one a couple of times in the two weeks since I purchased it. The pre-seasoned interior is a real plus. I seasoned all my other cast iron myself. The lid from my cast iron dutch oven fits this skillet, so I did not need to order a separate lid.

I just love this Cast Iron. I recently bought the cover to go with this Cast Iron Skillet. I can cook and bake so many dishes with is Skillet. They will last a lifetime and you don’t need to Pre-Season it. I love to cook simple dishes on the stovetop and in the oven. It’s do versatile you can cook anything. Cleaning is simple, but be careful not to use abrasive products it will harm your Skillet. This Cast Iron will last a lifetime.

I just used the pan for the first time last night. It does take some getting used to. I followed the instructions as to how to care for the pan. I washed and dried it and then rubbed canola oil on the entire interior of the pan. I made fried flounder on the stove. The pan cooked the fish very nicely. There were some sports that stuck to the pan, but for the most part, the fish came off the pan nicely. I believe if I had used a non-stick pan the wouldn't have broken apart so easily. All in all, I was pleased but am looking forward to using it more and more to get used to handling such a heavy pan.

This pan is AWESOME! I make omelettes every morning for my wife and I, and I've never had better omelettes in my life. When I'm grilling burgers I'll throw this thing on the grill with mushrooms and onions. Lunch? This thing makes perfectly toasted sandwiches. This thing is resilient, and if you treat it well, it will treat you well!
I love cooking with cast iron and this skillet has lasted through all my negligence in cooking with it. I use it on the gas stove and in the oven (I make pizza in it!). I have treated it and noting sticks.
I LOVE this skillet! The silicone Lodge handle covers fit these handles perfectly, the slope to the sides makes it easier to scrap with a wooden "spatula" and get clean; and then clean-up is a breeze: boil water in the pan, along with a shot of liquid dish soap, to loosen any stuck-up food; drain, then wipe with paper towel. A quick wipe with vegetable oil to re-season, and wipe out any excess. I store this pan stacked with my other cast iron pans, with a layer of paper towel in between them, just in case there's any excess oil. I wish there were more pans in this Professional line; I would buy them all!!!
This is my 2nd Lodge cast iron skillet and not because there's anything wrong with the 1st one. Au contraire. The skillet is perfection and is used daily. This one is for use when hosting others, necessitating more cooking acreage. On this beauty I cook bacon, chops, home fries, pancakes, French toast, chicken breasts, etc. I've made cornbread in it too. Nothing sticks, ever. Note: it is heavy. Proper care is necessary. But the result is spectacular. p.s., I didn't bother with a picture -- the one listed is accurate.
I finally bought myself a Lodge cast iron. I have purchased several for my son and he raves about them. I also got him a Dutch Oven here which he loves. This cast iron pan is going to last forever. We are new to using it but, so far, it's been exceptional. Don't know how I cooked all these years without one in my repertoire.
Love this cast iron skillet! Bulletproof. It's my first cast iron piece and I love not having to worry about using metal utensils in it. It's really not hard to clean and take care of at all. Definitely a little more involved than other nonstick cookware, but not by much. I just put a small amount of oil on a paper towel after I clean the pan and then rub the oil on the inside surfaces. This thing is heavy so you get the added benefit of an arm workout whenever you use it!
Excellent for outdoor cooking I use it on my griddle for items that just can’t be cooked directly on the griddle. Because it was pre seasoned when I bought it, I was able to use it almost immediately
