This is an amazing dutch oven, and made in the USA. Cooks beautifully. I would not waste the money on La Creuset or any other expensive import. The French ovens all have lids that rock and don't seal properly. This one sits perfectly. If the lid rocks, it isn't a dutch oven. Its basically a very heavy pot. My next purchase is their enamel coated dutch oven. Same amazing construction quality.

Very heavy and well made Dutch oven. I used Crisbee to season he pan and immediately used it to fry up some bacon and sausage for my homemade beans. No sticing at all. Came completely clean with a little water and a paper towel. We then cooked a cornbread cake in the pan using a tiny amount of bacon fat and the cornbread literally fell out of he pan when I turned it over. I currently have 6 Lodge cast iron pieces and have been more than pleased with their performance. You can't go wrong with this item.

This product is a great item that is very versatile and retains heat very well. What also make this item great is that its like having a large mixing bowl you can cook in.I also own an array of various size lodge skillets. Cast iron is great to cook with. I find myself reaching for this dutch oven more than the skillets just because you can cook almost anything in it. Also, when mixing my ingredients, it's more difficult to keep everything in the skillet than with the dutch oven.The only con; when you're stove-top cooking on medium to high heat, you may have to wait 10-15 minutes for it to reach the temperature you want. However, I believe that's partially due to the quality of my stove-top. Also, some people may find cast iron to be a bit on the heavy side.

Wonderful cast iron pot, BUT way too heavy for my 75 year old bones, and that is even when the pot is empty! Buy it when you're young and strong!
Great product. So far have used it to make chili and cioppino. It came pre-seasoned and I have added a bit more oil after each use. Seems to be working well - that is, no rust. A key thing anyone considering this should be aware of is that like any cast iron cookware, it is heavy. Not too heavy to handle, but definitely no lightweight. A couple of particularly good features are that the handles are large enough to use with heavy oven mitts on, and the cover has several concentric circular ridges to create self basting action inside the oven.
It is all that I expected and a great addition to my cook ware.
