Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB Tunable Gaming Mouse

Logitech's most responsive optical sensor, the PMW3366, provides the highest scanning accuracy. Exclusive Logitech G Delta Zero technology with optical sensor minimizes mouse acceleration and helps you navigate more accurately. You have the ability to switch between five different sensitivity levels from 200 to 12,000 DPI during the game (for certain DPI settings, the Logitech gaming software is required). Customize it to your own taste. Your Proteus Spectrum is equipped with five 3.6 g tuning weights. Position them all or just a few of them where you want to place more or less weight. This mouse can be tailored to your individual requirements. Adjustable RGB lighting provides up to 16.8 million selectable colors. With Logitech gaming software, you can customize color and brightness to suit your style, system, or environment. Put your lights into energy-saving mode when you are not using the system. Plus, you can synchronize lighting patterns and effects with other Logitech G devices so that they appear identical on all devices. Bring your games to life with "breathing" or circular lighting patterns. There are different game surfaces. Increase accuracy by matching the Proteus Spectrum's optical sensor to your playing surface. By adapting the mouse to the surface, not only the precision but also the responsiveness is improved. This configuration can be done quickly so you're ready to fight (you need the Logitech gaming software to fine-tune the sensor). The G502 Proteus Spectrum is pre-configured for use on the Logitech G240 and G440 gaming mousepads. Together with one of these mousepads, you'll get even more precision.

This is a great, well-made mouse for general use and gaming. There are 2 side buttons, buttons to adjust mouse speed, and a free scroll wheel or locked scroll options. The mouse also comes with weights and a thumb shelf. Software is also 100% option and only needed if you plan to change the color. I haven't installed the software ever, and it works, unlike other mice thar make it mandatory. Without the software the light is a light blue color. This mouse has lasted me, probably 8 years at this point with no issues at all and shows no signs of needing to be replaced.

I have everything good to say about this mouse! I’ve now had it for many years and it has withstood the test of time. It performs and feels like the very first day I received it. I love how customizable this mouse is. You can adjust the weight and sensitivity which makes general web browsing, video editing, and gaming a very personal experience. Other things I love are the possibility of an endless scrolling wheel with the click of a button, and the fact that there are so many buttons on the mouse. The buttons have really changed the way that I game and edit videos! Not only this, but my hands are quite small and this mouse is still very comfortable and fits my hand.

The clicks are light and responsive, providing precise control, and the mouse moves quickly and smoothly, enhancing my gaming experience. The ergonomic design ensures comfort during long gaming sessions and the customizable buttons are a big plus. The wireless performance is flawless, with no noticeable lag. Honestly, I find this a great investment for my gaming enjoyment.

Awesome mouse! No regrets!

The Logitech G502 X Plus is an impressive gaming mouse that perfectly blends performance and comfort. Its sleek design feels great in hand, and the light build makes it ideal for long gaming sessions. The customizable RGB lighting adds a nice touch of personalization, and the LIGHTSYNC feature syncs beautifully with other Logitech devices for a better look. Do I even need to mention the 13 customizable buttons?! I'm glad I picked up this mouse!

Fantastic Gaming Mouse

The dark pallette and anodised gun-metal scroll wheel give it a stealthy look that should prove popular among gamers. In addition to great aesthetics, ergonomically the G604 is flawless. There are multiple features that Logitech have nailed to make this mouse great to hold. With a thumb rest on the interior portion of the mouse, along with a high arching palm rest, the G604 naturally sculpts to the shape of your hand, making the mouse very quick to get used to and a pleasure to use.Above the thumb rest, a stacked row of 6 macro buttons are positioned in a curved fashion designed to be easily reachable. These buttons can be programmed via software in Logitech's excellent GHUB suite. Not only is this feature useful for gamers, but also for anyone using the G604 for programming or artistic after-effects work.By far the best aspect of the G604 has to be the speed-adaptive scroll wheel. At the click of a button (specifically the button just below the scroll wheel), you can switch between two scroll modes - staggered and hyperfast.Staggered modes works like a regular mouse, allowing precise but slower scrolling. Hyperfast mode, disables the staggered click of the wheel, allowing it to turn smoothly and freely. Using this mode, navigating from top to bottom of a long page takes no time at all. As a programmer I cannot stress enough how useful this feature is when faced with scrolling through pages of code, sometimes many thousands of lines in length. With up to 16000 DPI, Logitech’s 16K HERO sensor provides amazing accuracy, and for the 3 days under test, I haven’t witnessed any lag, only a smooth and pleasant experience. This is most notable when gaming, where many turn to wired mice for low latency. From testing I cannot notice any difference in latency between the G604 and my usual wired gaming mouse.Despite all these high-end features, the G604 gives a battery life of over 240 hours when using LIGHTSPEED Wireless and up to 5.5 months when using Bluetooth. The different connection modes can be toggled between by clicking the button just below the speed-adaptive scroll button. This long battery life, despite which mode used, is up there with the longest battery life I know for a high-end gaming mouse such as this. The only disappointing feature of the G604 is its lack of rechargeable battery, however it only requires 1xAA cell to achieve the above battery life which is rather impressive. I suppose at £85, the G604 is at the lower to mid level in terms of high-end gaming mice, so some concessions have to be made by Logitech.Setup of the mouse was easy, with plugging in a USB receiver and toggling the power button on the underside of the mouse to blue being all that was required to establish a connection within a second or two.If you want to take advantage of the G604 support for customization, download the Logitech GHUB software platform available for Windows and Mac OS. The package allows the user to have different configured modes for different use cases. For example, you can have multiple profiles for each game in your Steam collection. These profiles can be tweaked to have different user-selected configurations like sensitivity, scroll wheel modes and applying a different set of macro functions on a per-game basis. This proved really useful when switching between using the macro keys to auto-create a protective tower around me when under fire in Fortnite and back to CS:GO where I like to have macro keys assigned for throwing grenades and switching weapons. I feel like the macro keys are best utilised in fast-paced shooters and MMO’s - any scenario in which an advantage is had in having functionality right at your thumbs instead of having to stretch to input a sequence of keys on the keyboard.Despite being dubbed as a gaming mouse, I found plenty of use in the G604 as a regular office mouse and for me, as a programming mouse - customizable macros that are easily accessible from the thumb proved very handy and I have no doubt it increased productivity. The versatility of the G604 is understated.Should you buy the Logitech G604?The Logitech G604 is in my opinion, one of the best high-end mice available at this price point. The abundance of features and attention to detail Logitech have put into building this mouse is stunning. All whilst providing a fantastic battery life and a level of customization that rivals any high-end mouse available today. However, its biggest selling point is versatility. I think the G604 is perfect for anyone who wants a good looking, all-rounder that excels in a wide range of use-cases - everything from the office grind to the Sunday night gaming meetup.

This is not a Proteus Spectrum, this is a Hero
14 January 2024

This isn't the beloved Proteus Spectrum, the seller is lying and tricking people into believing they are buying the best version of the G502: The Proteus Spectrum. THIS IS NOT A PROTEUS SPECTRUM THIS IS A G502 HERO.What difference does it make you ask? The Hero is prone to double-clicking issues and suffers from a lesser build quality than the legendary Proteus Spectrum, the best version of the G502 ever made. I was beside myself to see a seller still offering such a legendary mouse: it was too good to be true.Shame on this seller for not reading their own packaging. THEY EITHER DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE SELLING, OR ARE DELIBERATELY LYING TO PEOPLE

Again shocked 6 years old.If anyone ever has to wonder if this mouse is good please take my word as a veteran hardcore and sometimes causal gamer and dedicated 3d Conceptual artist and game modeling artist/designer. This mouse is "Solid" in all the right ways. And the funny part, the only reason I am making this post now is that I was honestly shocked it had been 6 years as I was looking to see if i had a warranty (yep I easily can see a 2 year warranty is not usable on a mouse that only started showing signs of issues after 6 whole years of gaming and working this beast of a mouse can handle.)(Photos which explained in the below bits were taken on beige sketch bag so it was easier to see with a contrasting background instead of on its black mouse pad)The things that started breaking down for those wondering.1. Was the thumb side grip from just plain wear and tear (the one photo will show this first bit.)2. In the last week recently, the right mouse button which happens to be clicking or double clicking when trying to click once or trying to press the button for a hold type action, like aiming down sights in a game or special actions in Blender and Zbrush. (click being the quick action press being a long hold)My only complaint would be its initial learning curve for setup and running for setting up Macros. I use other mice right now since this one was giving out, but I do love this mouse and use it for lots of things where the right button is not as crucial.
